Rather see spuds go down.
-
3 weeks without a game and we're still putting all the Isak money on the bench. Those deals will hinder us for years unless ksa bail us out.
-
Not this again. 😂
-
What like manure? You honestly think us being outside of Europe for a season is the same as them. Fucking hell. We need to take advantage of every gain, no matter how small, and even then, legacy clubs are always going to pull certain players. We wouldn't even have had a look in without CL. You must be taking the piss or on a fishing trip. 😂
-
We'll probably see a lot of delayed movement anyway due to World Cup. Though that doesn't include Tonali, shame.
-
Common sense. Won't catch on, like.
-
We hung on and derailed the season. Aye, I remember. Worked out spiffing.
-
Could be quite an exciting one. Just need to not get stuck on targets for weeks and move on. Same goes for selling. Do it quickly.
-
I think you're probably right. Was a buy now, think later strategy. Worked for a bit due to the tightness of Ashley, but once that fell off we had to deal with the reality.

Massive buzz around the club back then. That moment has passed (left with Mandy Imo) But anything is possible. Leicester won the league after narrowly escaping relegation. Best stick some money on forest or wham for the '27 title.

Players of unknown quality. All of which you would have turned your nose up at the start of the season. So many missed chances as we went for proven quality from the PL. Think we'll do a better job this summer spreading out over several signings from abroad with a couple of PL players in the correct starting positions, most likely relegation teams, or those who have under delivered this season (it'll happen above us, and we'll do it to those below us) but we'd be shopping differently with Europe. The other thing is regular Europe brings better draws when we do make it to the CL instead of being the last pot and taking a kicking. That would also help our season as we don't have to leave everything on the pitch each CL game just to compete. But if you want to pretend this season doesn't impact us negatively and hasn't set us back, I'm fine with that. I'll sit here in the camp knowing it has, and ready for what comes next.
-
Yes it does. Players want to play in Europe and will choose clubs over it. But the biggest impact is that it requires a bigger squad to be able to satisfy players who make that up. Give chance to youth. The players who w one day's replace the stars. Without Europe we step back from squad building, and end up back to not being ready for Europe when we do well in the league, as we don't have the squad for it. Can't believe people have watched the last few seasons of us cycle, and still not get it. Finishing outside of Europe also puts questions of failing to meet objectives for the manager. Now we have instability on the one bringing players in and if they'll even be there next season. You think good players with options arent going to question all these things? Players aren't going to move on due to where we find ourselves?

People were saying hey we’re happy to be relegated under Howe for the LC win. The consequences of that mindset is finishing mid table will leave us vulnerable for our best leaving. If we secured Europe we have a better case for players to stay, unless they have personal circumstances out of our control. I don't mind. I accepted this month's ago when everyone was saying we still have the cups and will finish the season strong. It's not me who needs to make peace with the truth of how shite this season has been, and how it will set us back.

If Williams can start twice as many games as tino did at 85% of the quality, I'd pick him over tino. Tino & Tonali leaving with Williams & Anderson coming in plus funds for a keeper and backup fbs would be damage limitation. Reckon Howe would be fine with that as well (rather than risks from abroad)

This summer is going to be brutal. Heart ripped out. But this is the price of failure. Most on here was happy with that earlier in the season when it was floated as a possibility, now it's likely, you've just got to accept it and see our best leave the club and replaced with players you don't think will be as good.
-
Ugarte isn't that bad. Just a shite environment and wrong move. Players can bounce back and pick their careers up. Wouldn't pay over £20m for him though, think they'll struggle getting their asking price.
-
We were linked with him before he went to psg.
-
Pulled it back after his personal life derailed his performances, certainly not to the standard it was, but age has also taken its toll. Gutted as he's a real leader, and came in to rescue us at a real low. Hopefully the lowest we'll ever be again. Thanks for everything. Hope he comes back in coaching capacity when he's done with playing. A big blow for Howe as well.
-
Same lad who didn't know we had a black hole and needed to be rescued by selling SJP to ourselves. More of a guess merchant these days.
-
Because we blew it and more on absolute shite.

I think he will. Hope he will. If he doesn't, then it's got to be the end and the club needs to rebuild pretty much everything in his absence. Gaunlet is down, all in his hands. Players back, one game a week. Perfect conditions. I do think they've got Mourinho pencilled in for the role though. They'll see him as a manager with his own clout, who can bring in players on his own reputation, something Howe has struggled with. We all know how that goes though, does well 1st season, fall out with everyone 2nd season and leaves halfway through. They'll be counting on a good couple of windows using his pull. That's how I see this going if Howe can't end the season well (and whether he still wants to be here)
