And who to cure our lack-of-creativity blues, Parky? I'd get bids in for Basturk (Stuttgart), Diego (Werder Bremen - would cost) or Arteta. All three clubs involved aren't must stay clubs imo and if MA got obsessed with either of those he could get them IMO. Diego & Naldo would improve the team 200%. Probably cost £30m for the pair though.

Zoggy Krul Enrique Taylor Martins Possibly Milner

It would be a great move. Thing is, at some time we are going to have to push the boat out and finish the job on the squad, it might as well be sooner rather than later. If Ashley is serious about making this club into a success, and there's no reason to doubt, then we must bring in some quality players. Were not producing them through the academy, and were not going to be given them by a magic fairy, so we must go out and buy them. Its clear we need some creativity, and really, there is no point scrimping and penny pinching to bring in some more average midfeilders, we need 1st team starters to shape the 1st team around, not passengers and position fillers. I hope thats the thinking, it would be the right move imo.

Dunno if its been posted, but the interview is also on SSN's if you have time to catch it: Newcastle chairman Chris Mort insists the club are fully behind manager Sam Allardyce. The Toon Army are growing restless after seeing their side slump to successive heavy home defeats, 4-1 to Portsmouth and 3-0 in Saturday against Liverpool. Mort admits that the fans have every right to be unhappy after booing their side off the pitch following their under-par display against Liverpool. Backing "It is certainly not surprising the fans are not happy," Mort told Sky Sports News. "We have had two disappointing home games on the trot the fans don't want that, the manager doesn't want that and we certainly don't want that. "No complaints they are disappointed with the results and we are to, but we must move on." Mort said that at the moment Newcastle were standing by Allardyce - who was appointed by the previous board, before current owner Mike Ashley took charge. "We would like to do [stand by him]," he continued. "We have got an experienced manager who is clearly having a tough time but he is an experienced guy and will hopefully bring the team through." Allardyce himself is clear that a lot of building work needs to be done at St James' Park and said it will not happen overnight. Patience "It cant be done in a short period of time," he told Sky Sports News. "They have been trying to do that for a number of years and it has not worked, so we are trying to do it slowly and surely and progressively and will hope we get there and sustain it, that is what I want us to do. "We have got to do better and hopefully that will turn around in the next few weeks."

Carr & Babayaro are a disease, we need to cull them ASAP. Pay up their contracts, and tell them to fuk off. Ameobi needs to go. If we can get a fee for him we need to cash in on it now before its too late.

Crouch - Great player would partner Martins well and we need another striker for when Martins buggers off to the anc, and while Owen picks up his 10th injury of the season. Arshavin - Yep, we've been linked, versatile, talented, and a move would be a step up for him. Luka Modric - On his way, £15m the fee being banded about, some will pay it, someone will be getting a cracking player. Depends who moves for him, but if you dont try... Ben Haim - £1m, well it would be daft not too. Good defender, his versatility could be crucial to us when Geremi, Feye & Beye get called up for ANC duties. Cheap Left back. Can't think of any. We don't need anything crazy in terms of fees, someone cheap, preferably a young gamble, even better if it could be English. If not go abroad and bring someone in. I'd also see who's out for loan. We need to boost the squad.

I didn't want us to sign Smith and i don't rate him as a player, and so far he's shown every reason why i had doubts. But the booing of him getting MOM yesterday ( i don't think i was tripping, i'm sure it happened) i don't know if the crowd were trying to be ironic or something, but my gut feeling they weren't, they were just being moronic. The fans expect players to have passion for the club, tbh, if i were a player coming into this environment, i'd be quite happy to tell the lot of you to fuk off, and grin like while i take your clubs cash off them.
-
If i were at the game yesterday i would of walked out of the ground in disgust...of the fans. Terrible. We look like the muppets everyone brands us as. Well done.

Fantastic post, im 100% with you.

I have to agree with this. It's no shock that some of the teams run away from us have invested heavily in their team, and then there's us, with a rather modest investment given our apparently super rich owner. Is it really then fair to compare him (us) to the likes of Sven and Man City? Although Sam's made some bizarre decisions in his time here, I still have enough faith in him to sort us out on the long-term. But then my expectations were somewhat more realistic than others, who seemed to just pick up from where they left off last season and demand European football as a bare minimum. SA spend what? £25m, but recouped about £17m iirc, so really, he wasn't backed in the market and its showing. He bought the basics, now he needs another £20m to puff out the squad and bring in the creativity we need. It now needs doing this winter window though, i thought we could hold on until the summer, but the fans have turned, and the club needs to bring things back on side, or it will only get worse, and inevitably SA will be sacked (if the reaction of todays lot is anything to go by). But on that note, he only has himself to blame. He has wasted money on the likes of Smith, and has made some fuking mental selections and decisions. Bringing on Carr (like someone said in the match thread, its two fingers to the crowd from SA) is him telling us to fuk off, it really is, there really is no other way to interpretate such a move when we were playing so badly. I still have faith in him, much better maanger than the last two, but has made daft decisions that most people if not all think WTF are you doing man? Its a fine way to fall from grace at this club, we don't take stupidity lightly unless its something we didn't quite see, didn't quite get, and need telling about, but it really hasn't been the case with him, he's shown us nothing that the average fan doesn't know (if you get what am saying) i would love to hear what he's been thinking in todays team selection & subs, but i doubt he even knows, that loses my support, and drops my faith level in him a lot.

At least the mackems are sunk already.

Ashley needs to give him big money in jan, if not he needs to sack him now as only big money can turn this around.

Do we? I would say for now, yes we do. If we dont give him the season were going to look like the revolving door of managers like we always have done, lessening the limited appeal the job already has. TBH England could do us a massive favour, but i doubt they'd go for him after his performance so far at NUFC. Cool. That "Do we?" wasn't my own personal judgment on the matter, was just wondering what people thought. I hastily said "Sam out" earlier in this thread but I know it's not anywhere near as simple as that. What do you think then? It is tough, other factors are tied up in this for a change, its not like a simple sacking like Souness, although if the board wanted, the excuse could be it wasn't their man. Going to cost about £6m though to sack him, then probably the same again to get a decent manager in. I'd rather he received that money in the window to buy some more players, and let him see out the season. I don't even have a clear opinion on the matter anymore, like i said before, i really am not trying to naturally react in a bad way about this, but my opinion all season is it hasn't been good enough, this has just confirmed to everyone it hasn't been and i don't want to lead the stupidity pack by calling for his head right now. I don't know what to think really. I can't help but think it's far too early to get rid of him and that he deserves the January window at least but then again I don't know what he can personally do to stop the rot. He's shown tactically he's completely inept and I can't see him suddenly changing his ways. He may possibly have the right tactics, just the wrong players, and thats the only hope i can give him but in that he really should be playing with what he's got. I think it was HTT who said we needed to go with his ideas and stick with them, or this season would be a waste of time trying to change it again, but i didn't agree, and i am unfortunately being proved right. Its a results business, and what we need to do is to get up there by whatever means necessary, if that means playing 442 with the sqaud we've got and fixing it short term, then thats what you have to do, if not, you find yourself in the position SA find himself today, very fuking sticky.

Totally ashamed, its how i feel, it better be how SA and his players feel.

Who the f*** has been saying that, eh? Have you been missing this season? Instead of this mythical group of people that you seem to be referring to, why don't you find an actual quote that says we play better against the big teams? They think their mythical or have some mythical powers, why don't you have a search if it bother you so? eh? I'm saying they're 'mythical' because they don't exist. So are you suggesting I go search for a group of people that I know don't exist? Nice. But they do. Have a search. I can't be fuked, you either know what am talking about or you don't, not my problem, its yours. They don't. You're being delusional and just lashing out at some random group of people that you think exist. We may have been alright at home against the bigger teams during Roeder's days but that's as far as that premise goes. We were s*** against the top 4 during SBR's days, same with Souness as well and we were also f****** s**** when we were away under Roeder. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=46775.350 Only Parky's been saying that, and that's only because he doesn't rate Benitez. It's a wishful thinking type of thing, which all of us have been guilty of in the past. I must of imagined Decky saying it as well then? Even though it's a clear as day in that thread. BTH, this was no way aimed at Decky, people have said the same thing over the last few weeks at multiple opportunities due to our up and coming difficult fixtures, soothing themselves, trying to seek something that wasn't there.
-
I can't actually believe how bad we've been on the pitch this season. An easy start has masked what has been a very poor performance from SA, its going to kick in now, and the following fixtures. Bottom half finish unless we do some serious spending in the window. To think were going to lose 4 of our best players to the ANC is just sickening.
-
Really trying not to get to knee jerk about this, but SA really does have some explaining to do.
-
Its a sickening thought.
