  1. Mort is talking sense, but as I've suspected for some time he is of a very conservative nature. It's all very well saying we want to be like Arsenal etc...And thinking long term...But we're only half way through the season and some of the top 6/7 are still losing games and will continue to each other...I feel one or two good senior signing in Jan would make a big differeance. I think it would as well, but maybe their approach is to get some youngsters in, then if a decent player for a decent price comes up then go for him; instead of publicly looking for players and to be held over a barrel ala Boumsong a few winters windows ago. Plus, I think the days of coming out to the media and bragging about the money we will need to spend strengthening the defence etc.. are long gone with the previous regime having now thankfully fucked off. Mort's comments could well be a smokescreen. I hope they are. But if not, then I'm still not worried, as I personally have faith in Big Sam's plans. Yeah its fair to say that previous approach got us fuking nowhere apart from near bankrupcy. It would be nice to be dazzled with a big name attacking mid like VDV or Diego, but if we have to wait a little longer to attract that quality then so be it, its the price you pay for poor board level decisions and failure at every level for several seasons.

  3. I'd rather us go for a few youngsters and build the squad up for the future than buy 29-30 year olds on heavy wages, limited talent, and very little future in the game. If were going to do this properly we need to start looking about for the next best, not quick fixes which really fix fuk all. It just depends on how big an ambition we have to go for the best of the best youngsters out there which need some fine tuning and time to adapt, a few more Zoggy's would do me fine, a route i'm happy with 150%.
  4. His family are all fit and healthy (and loaded) why should he play?
  5. Probably because its on Setanta.
  6. Robert had the power of hindsight. No wonder he cried when SBR told the team he was sacked.
  7. No look at the thread title, he expects it all to be done in one day! I'd say we'd be daft if we didn't have two signings completed before the window even opens. Carr might leave in the window, but i really cannot see anyone else going anywhere permanently, not until the summer.
  8. Would be a good move for us. Lets hope we can get an early bid in and stop other competition mounting a challange for his signature.
  9. Very good performance, don't mind getting beat if we play like that.
  10. In a perfect world you would be right. It a perfect world the fans would take this poor form on the chin and not shout at the manager or boo his every decision. We don't live in that world, and to say that all is well with the above is beyond naive.
  11. Its been shit all season, we were very lucky to get early point on the board, we are actually in a false position, we should be lower, so yes, tough times considering the fans are shouting at the manager, there is player unrest, board twitching etc... I suppose its just normal for NUFC, but it is in fact tough times right now.
  12. I'm all for giving SA time, but if Capello wants the job, then we must go for him. I very much doubt he would though, but we can dream through these tough times, no harm in that.
  13. Its like 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and no doubt 2008 around here sometimes. PS: Yes i am.
  14. I'd still rather have any of the others midfields. But as Andy gray says....." Games arn't won on paper " No. Our bad midfield on paper is even worse in real life. Tragic.

Fair enough, but King on the bench? I don't think the lad has played since the last time this kind of thread has been done.

Could we not dig up one of the other 5 million threads this has been done in? No offense like mate, just it really is like Groundhog day around here sometimes.
  17. Who said he's on that? You and your Boro mates to soften the blow of losing your best striker for nowt to your bitter rivals who couldn't give a fuk about you? That really does sum it up doesn't it? mackems.gif
  18. I think we all know the players have had an easy fuking ride for the last several seasons. God forbid they'd actually be put out for their silly money. Total cunts the lot of them. Sell the moaners, even if its Given, Taylor, Zoggy or Martins and find someone who appreciates playing football for a living, a very fuking handsome living to boot. Twats.
  19. Get them all in a small room and then suddenly without warning shoot one in the head at point blank range (ideally Carr) so the blood spatter hits the others. Then discuss the christmas team schedule after. Half way there. Then give them survival packs with a random weapon in each, only the last 11 survive and play over xmas. (Carr lies dead, give his pack with the egg whisk in to Babayaro)
  20. Dont think he turned up for the two games prior to the weekend. Has just been acting like a dick tbh. Edmilson said something about him not training hard and he took offence, cant remember the whole story. "In our group of 23-25 players and coaches we are like a family and on many occasions the family has a black sheep." "The world in which footballers live is different because money, success, fame, women and getting things easily means they lose the true values in life. "Sometimes our job takes second place and players say 'I've got a meeting or an advertising commitment so I'm going to train quickly." http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/european/article3191555.ece Thats the one, don't think he turned up to the next game after that was said. Well if you are gonna piss on probably the worlds great football club in any kind of manner, there is only one way you are going to head. Ronaldo & Kluivert wasted the end of their careers due to problems such as this, i really hope Ronnie doesn't do that same, but this: "The world in which footballers live is different because money, success, fame, women and getting things easily means they lose the true values in life. " really does ring bells.
  21. No, Gullit bought him as Shearer's potential replacement. Gullit bought Dunc as Shearer's partner, he's said so himself so many times since leaving the club that Shearer worked better with a big man next to him, ala Ferdy-Shearer combo. Countless times i've hear Ruud Mullet on SS's talking about this.
