Think they'd take £10m upfront, with addons and maybe a loan (not sure if they've reached their limit or not) or something thrown in the other way, especially if he's about to miss the best part of 3 months. Its about resource management if Moyes is to be believed (no money), 2-3 outfield signings could spark the reaction to getting them out of trouble, again. Don't forget they are a club that is very short-sighted and its all about staying in the division, whatever the cost (usually morals, decency and integrity)

He's not even been brilliant like say Tim Krul on his debut at 17 and he's coming up 23. When you compare to Jack Butland who is only a year older but actually had a proper career then it's ridiculous talk, and really only them doing the talking as usual.

Palace at 10/1 is tempting...may stick a couple of quid on it. Sunderland 8/1 at home as well, might hoy a tenner on that.

He's an average premiership midfielder which is better than what we've got playing for us right now. Loan is ok but I'd be looking for better at the end of the season if we go up. 100 times a better signing than Murphy

Interesting to learn Defoe can leave on a free if they go down...come the end of the window and they've not bought anyone or picked up many points do they try and bag some cash for next season and get £80kpw off the wage bill?

Good to hear. Would have been our most underwhelming signing since Daryl Murphy. It would be a massive step up on the Murphy deal, let's not kid ourselves.

He's built like a defensive midfielder but lacks any of the basics you'd associate with such a role. He's not particularly attacking either, more of an all rounder that will tick over. For me personally you'd want some like Hayden and shelvey alongside him, then his passing and recovery of the ball isn't being relied on. TBH he's a confusing player but there certainly talent there. Closest I can currently think of is Jenas in a bigger body, and like jenas he really needs to define a role soon or risk becoming an all rounder never mastering a specific part of the game.

How he's recovered is key- he was all about chasing lost causes, putting pressure on backpasses and on fullbacks- much as Gayle tries to do but it's too much for one man. They could work well together. It'll be one or the other, both won't ever start together.

Yes please. Gayle is better so if we were to get Wilson, id assume Mitro could well be away. I'd say they are about the same but before his injury Wilson looked suited to the Prem more than Gayle imo. Younger as well. Not seen him this season or since the injury, knee wasn't it? Hope its not touched his pace. Tbh really can't see why they'd sell, must be a decent fee (probably a club record for us) But aye, end of Mitro.

Not gotten to you yet, Dokko I'm on board, just pointing out what i think have been obvious flaws so far. (though on reflection a little harsh on Clark...point still stands though; signings haven't been great) After 11 years or so i just fancied a change. No real reason apart from that.

Tbf He's been a bit above average, would say Yedlin less than average. think the bar was set low when Clark was bought, most people wrote him off without kicking a ball for us, so easy to say it's a better signing than it really is.

Excellent? Seriously? Only Gayle can be labelled that. Hayden by some distance behind in second place then the rest have either been average for the price paid (Ritchie, Hanley, Clark, Yedlin) or a total waste of money (Sels, Gamez, Lazaar, Murphy, Diame )

Love the guy but he's making a meal out of this season. He's been great off the pitch, but questionable tactics, signings and poor results is spoiling the love in for me.

Can't wait to see who Rafa buys next for the bench.
