  1. Just wait till next week when we appoint a 'French nobody' and a 'unheard of forrin puppet' Just watching the montage at the beginning of the show we all know how this is going to pan out, don't we? And Paul Merson raises his head after some prompting from Jeff, his eyes glazed, his mouth leaking and his nose powder white and states in something that almost resembles English "Wat they doing? Noocastle. They had the best manager in the world, for me, a great guy and to let him go...its just not on. Now i hear they are going forrin, well how does that work? They don't even like cockney's and France is almost as far away as landaarn isn't it? The fans up there will expect the new guy to win the league next season, and probably a cup this season as well, and really only someone like Bruce could do that for them. If it were me, i'd give it to Carver, he's done well so far, and he knows the club"

  3. I think its all about control. Ashley has the club exactly where he wants it, before Pardew you couldn't have attracted a decent manager and tell him he's got not or very little say on recruitment. But Pardew towed the line, allowed for Ashley to show his way can work, he can bring in good players and the scouting system works. With our transfer policy constantly reaping financial rewards it can't be seen as a bad thing for managers to tap in to. The job being advertised as head coach is telling. We've said without doubt we are looking for a continental style manager and i think Ashley has now been sold that on the continent this set up is far more accepted and a foreign coach should work better, as well as being able to get more out of the players which in return equals more cash on sales. MYM will ring alarm bells, that was a wasted opportunity to make a huge profit under a good coach and from reports its= sounded Cabella could have been going the same way. It now pays for Ashley to have a good manager at the helm, it will in turn make him more money due to players improving to be sold at a later date. This couldn't have been done without first changing expectations within the club and how people perceive it on the outside. Before Pardew the club was seen as a joke, but eventually our transfer and financial policy was seen as a way forward especially under FFP and now the next stage is to get a head coach which will be better suited to the role, and maybe even get a good one with the money Palace gave us for Pardew. Ashley as usual has played a blinder throughout if this was his plan especially receiving money for a manager he wanted out, not sure if its dumb luck or he's actually a shit hot businessman, i think its probably a bit of both. The twat.

    John Carver

So if he's applied and Garde comes in, does that mean he resigns due to the indignity of the situation?

  8. So the only part of Manu functioning correctly this season is GK...therefore sign another GK.
  9. Can't help wondering if he was still with us if Gary Speed would be in consideration for the job. :'(
  10. I expected KI's back to be more hairy.
  11. Bet there are a few tools already getting it tattoo'd on their spine.
  12. Fuck me Enrique looked wrecked just waddling on to the pitch.
  13. 4 from the bottom and one from the top.
  14. Or Colo as captain said he's not welcome back here So we're getting rid of pretty much the only player whose very name can put asses in seats and IMHO is our best player based on the opinion of a 32 year old who hasn't had a good game in 2 years? Christ this club is screwed. Basically yes. I personally would have sided with HBA over Colo as i don't think his conduct as captain has been brilliant and Colo is on his last legs, but the club seem to want to him him at all costs. The dressing room was split, the French lads Vs and the older pros stuff that was flying around last year that got the papers banned were completely true; cabaye kept it all together and as soon as he left it fell part whilst colo wasn't interested in healing it. It left HBA in a vulnerable place with his allies being picked off one by one. One more overstep of the mark and it was showdown time, not with Pardew who's ego believed he could tame him, but with Colo who at this point had all the power and HBA was shipped out of the club to Hull once HBA was made poster boy of the fans campaign against the club and Pardew. HBA & Pardew got along quite well, even when he left he didn't stick the knife in, even said he didnt want him sacked. Well that's my take on it.

  16. However, I don't expect John Carter will be sending NUFC flying up to Mars. You mean Carpenter?
  17. So the two televised home games of small clubs shown today were also sellouts, people queuing for 17 hours for tickets for the Manu game, yet no games shown yesterday to boost attendances in the cup. Load of bollocks.
  18. Wright: Alan Pardew was roundly bood by palace fans until he scored that goal. Nice connection, welcome home super al
  19. In good form, tough away crowd
