Even without a manager coming in Carver has to be removed (and there is enough on him to sack him for misconduct without the need of a payout) In that situation the team needs a unifying individual to take the lead of the club for the remainder of the season, someone the players know and trust. The options are limited - all considered I think Jonas is the best option.
  2. Don't forget that Willo was probably already wound up by Carver telling that fan that he hasn't been following orders to keep the ball on the ground...

Ryder has already written an article drawing parallels with Hughton, struggled in the PL but came into his own in the Championship. The unfortunate thing is if we do drop, there isn't even the remote chance that the club will hire a decent manager but if we go down it's gotta be between, this inept fool and a manager who just threw a playoff place out the window. The significant difference is that Hughton was liked and respected.
  4. Carver clearly to blame for ill discipline. Club must be near a point now where they are going to have to justify the club's disciplinary problems to the FA

He's not getting sacked man. Ashley has forced out Llambias then sacked Kinnear. This is not something new. Too close to relegation, too much criticism on the holy pious St. Sports Direct.com of Nazareth

He is going to blame the fan who posted his chat about Williamson on Twitter isn't he?

He will get sacked at the end of the season. He will be from rags to riches and back to rags. His wife better enjoy their nice home while she still can.
  9. I would get Dummett at CB he is clearly our best player in that position.
  10. Pardew possibly I think even Pardew had realised that Abeid was bringing something to the team. He did give him a run in the team pre-injury

At this moment in time, you would have to wonder who could unite and motivate the players quickly, and get them playing together in time? Needs to be someone well known and respected by a number of players with proven determination and leadership. Jonas is the best option now as manager for the rest of the season in my opinion.

There are more than you think. It's why so many regulars have given up going to games yet attendances remain high.

I think the biggest difficulty will be persuading the leisure fan that they should stay away. For example the Scots travelling down to see a high profile game, or the family of five that have spent £200 on tickets for the single game.

Definitely think a widely respected ex-Toon figure getting behind the boycott would do wonders. Shearer or Keegan would be the dream, but another would be a letter of open backing to the boycott in the printed press from 100 ex players. Imagine it getting signed by the likes of Ginola, Srnicek, Lee, Howey, Clark etc. That would be momentum!
  15. I suppose you never know really like if imagine if in 2002 and I told the people in the pub watching England vs Argentina that the mullet haired player that gave away the penalty would become a respected premier league manager, I'd get laughed out the place.
  16. Leadership and man management wise he would be very good, but I also think he is someone who as a player knows his weaknesses so plays to his strengths so he is very savvy in that sense and I think he would enjoy working with players to improve them. On the negative side there is a worry about maybe because he is a route one player he is a route one manager, but not necessarily as mentioned before he knows his strengths so it benefits him personally to play for more direct sides and direct philosophy managers. But that may not translate into Him being a route one manager. A lot of the names mentioned so far are top players, but sometimes such players can find it difficult to manage players that are worse than they were.
  17. Of recent newcastle players I see potential in Kevin Nolan, maybe not beat of the best but j think he will go on to have a decent record and be a fairly popular British manager

Fully supportive of the boycott but I would advise the group to show caution in expecting success from positive responses on forums and social media as this hasn't in the past translated well to the match day crowd. I'm not sure all the demands about Ashley have been fully thought through, for example I'm not sure how Ashley can realistically expect to sell the club in a transparent way due to many commercial and confidentiality sensitivities. Also I don't think Ashley has so little power that he can't get to brush aside fan power. The key I think is to make the club too much time and energy for him and what is required is to completely disrupt the operations of his business so his minions keep coming to him begging for help, or he keeps needing to recruit new minions. So to break Ashley you first need to break Carver and Charnley, and then the snakes he replaces them with. Book out the Sports Direct AGM with Newcastle fans. Eventually the hassle won't be worth the money to him and he will sell.

I'm sure Advocaat would have taken the job until the end of the year, rather than them, and we would have been fine. Uninspiring but for one season only, fine.

Where's this c*** going to find a further FIVE years of employment? He's never walking out. McLaren will work with him and keep him on. Probably why we are reportedly pushing for him so hard. It's obviously why Garde wouldn't come. Can hardly blame him. To be fair I doubt any of us can barely imagine the horror Charnley felt when that madman Garde said at the interview that he would strategically rotate a few players whilst trying to have a cup run and get into the Europa League. How could such a nutter risk almost certain relegation?
  21. This game will make Sterling appreciate what he has at Liverpool

Even if we can't get another manager for the rest of the season, give someone else a go to make the decisions. Dave Watson might be worth a punt.
