  1. we don't have a thread about women's football yet we have a thread about many other football divisions. So what is going on at the moment? Any good matches coming up?
  2. We are all incredibly sexist when it comes to the idea of women in certain footballing positions though. I will provide a case study shortly.
  3. I think it is fair to say that there definitely has been a lot of short termism, not just with the fans but with the management and the ownership. However I think the relegation and this season has made many realise the complexity of the game and made people take a better approach. For example I think we learnt from our error of writing off Carroll. Examples of short-termism would be fans wanting Nolan taken out of the team to accomodate Ben Arfa/Ireland, fans expecting Krul to be perfect when he got his spell in goal, and fans wanting youngsters to be brought into the team with the expectation that they'll be better than the current lot. I think the problem is endemic at all top level clubs. The fans have FIFA, Football Manager, watch every live game including La Liga, Serie A, even the Dutch League and they expect their own clubs to do things instantly, failing to grasp concepts such as team spirit, team blending, player development, confidence and the whole psychology of the game.
  4. Don't think Cisse would be a good fit for this club.

He looks different to how I remembered.
  6. Pleased for him, he seems a grounded player who has turned out for us with an injury whereas other players would stay on the touchlines for weeks.
  7. Birmingham have only lost 5 times at home since being promoted.
  8. He is spot on in terms of ability, mentality, and consistency.

I have been fairly satisfied with his performances. You know what you are getting with him.
  10. I suspect we'll be in limbo land, touching distance but whenever we get close we find ourselves back in a relegation scrap that we escape from two games later.
  11. Stoke at home springs to mind Still just one game and Stoke had been doing that in consecutive games at that time. Excellent defensive achievement.
  12. What a terrible player. Liverpool, Man Utd and co. shouldn't bother looking at him.
  13. Fearful on this one. Martins was a below average player not for technical and physical reasons, but because he was mentally inferior both in terms of character and intelligence. However this is the sort of game you'd see him get his act together for if he had been playing for us, and therefore I'd expect him to put in the kind of performance that he would against Spurs.
  14. And we have players that won't hide when we are up against it ala Owen and Martins.
  15. Didn't know that. Good. Apologies to Kevo.
  16. That's not a fixture list. All the games we've played so far this season in order? That is a fixture list. Although if my definition is incorrect then good as the dude put the effort in.
  17. Aaarg, I hate it when someone makes such a big effort in good faith andis yet going to get their post deleted because of fixture lists.

  19. Assuming we stay in the Premier League, I reckon our transfer budget will be somewhere around £20m with £15m to cover wages a larger squad would require. If the Jonas to Lazio stories are particularly true then I'd take it, and move the FM transfer budget slider so we have maybe £30m and £15m wages. See if some idiot will take Smith and Xisco and release Campbell Like the sound of Marveaux and Larsson on frees. If Ireland performs he is welcome at up to £3m, otherwise he is surplus to requirements. I'd be prepared to pay up to £15m for Chris Samba or alternatively £10m for Brede Hangeland. See if we can find some sort of cheapo second striker and a full back same way we got Tiote If not, David N'Gog. Aaron Ramsey on loan. All that is left should go on another striker but I don't know who.
  20. 10th best defender in the Premier League according to Football365. Just behind Titus Bramble and Michael Turner.

The greatest place for football rumours Marley?
  22. How apt!!!! I've seen that post by about 10 people now, but what is great is that it seems to be posted as if they think they are the first to do so, which makes it great.
