The question I'm asking is not what you expect us to do with the players we've got, but your expectations of the club full stop.

As we saw last season, coming 12th is avoiding relegation.

For me, top half plus entertainment is a minimum, but I can't see why we can't challenge for a UEFA Cup spot, or even get a run at 5th place if luck runs in our favour.

I think the reason for so many differing opinions regarding who we need to sign is down to people holding different expectations as to what the club should be aiming to do for this season. While the transfer window remains open, what were your expectations for this season, and why?

Tsunami, genuine questions: What do you think is needed to save our season? And what do you think is a 'saved season', top 4, top 6, Europe, what?

That's it in a nutshell. No it isn't, pretty fucking far off even. He's said countless times he would be very disappointed if there were no new signings of the required quality. He wants the best for the club he supports, as we all do. He just expresses his concerns whereas others are willing to have blind faith in Keegan's magic and Ashley's intentions for us to challenge the top 4. I respect both stances, but the realistic part in me says that we have so far failed to strengthen to the extend that we needed to and I seriously doubt that they will be able to complete the transfers on the very last day of the transfer window where they have apparently failed to do so in a number of cases up until this point. Perhaps some people just need to accept that challenging the top 4 was not an option for this season.

He's a classic confused Newcastle player. The question marks round his name clearly demonstrate uncertainty over his own ability and his commitment to the club. The rest is regarding his past, he's telling the fans he can't guarantee he'll stay on the straight and narrow which in turn could start a dressing room revolt. Those aren't question marks, they are stars, obviously you don't have the particular font on your PC.

Enrique out for a month is really just two weeks right now.

All the media focus will be about how brilliant Arsenal are when Fabregas is fit. I thought we'd only get 1 point this month when I saw the fixture list. 4 points is very satisfactory, and I reckon quite a few managers would love to swap our results with theirs. We've now got two weeks, and this can bring closer the return of many missing names, plus maybe some new arrivals. A few nicer games coming up.

Both looking good. We just look s**** without Milner though. Although I was a fan of Milner's, I don't think he would have made a shadow of a difference in this game. All of our players are getting crowded out the moment they enter Arsenal's half with the ball.. We miss Martins too obviously. But Milner would certainly give us more than Shola. They are all too short.

We are going to have to sit on this defeat until 13th September.
