All still vastly over paid.
All I'm saying is that we cant complain about a players wages until we hear some reliable estimates on the actual pay package.
About half of wages involving Newcastle players is made up and over exaggerated.
Owen's £100,000 a week is actually £80,000
Dyer's £80,000 is actually £60,000
Babayaro's £50,000 is actually £25,000
So don't judge wages on what the media say.
Porritt is possible, I'm sure they wouldn't just tack it on to the end of a piece about Middlesborough players getting released if it was a first teamer.
Just been on Sky Sports News
Someone has left Middlesborough and is expected to join us.
Didn't catch their name though, as I was half reading a magazine and hadn't really been listening.
Can someone confirm?
Unfair if so.
Beckham had forgotten about how to be a footballer. The spell in the wilderness helped him buck up his ideas, and allowed him to put in the performances that helped Madrid win the league.
Perhaps we are signing him to play in selective games, ie give his knee a regular rest, but call on him in the 20 games a season he really is needed for.
Allardyce did say earlier today that he was going to ask Arsenal personally if they wanted Martins.
Perhaps Arsenal's response wasn't what Allardyce was hoping for?
My take on things:
Oliver discovered this morning that Shepherd was off to Barcelona to make a big signing. Only he didn't know who it was.
So he goes on Wikipedia and looks up Barcelona players, and concludes that Edmilson is the most likely candidate. He then makes up some quotes from an acquaintance in Spain to back his story up.
