Fact are this: Moses has not chosen Wigan. He is only speaking to them. Administrators have chosen what bids to be accepted. We didnt match two other PL club bids Therefore, the matter is out of his hands. He will go where he is told to go to.

Johnny Just as an example, I thought, for example, Bednar bullied Colo in the game at SJP and if he had not been subbed, WBA may and shouild have gone on and won that game. Other examples, of the top of my head, would be the likes of Hulse at Derby, Howard at Leicester and Boothroyd at Cardiff being more of a physical than skillful nature. There are probably a few more to pick from but they came immediately to mind. We can also point at our Andy Carroll in that vein too.

There have been a few defenders who have made the adjustment from CCC to PL, most notably, Johnson at Birmingham. We wont know about Williamson until we actually get there and see him for opurselves. As for Colo, he has arguably, been our best player this season, against much tougher physical opponents in the CCC as opposed to the quality in the PL. This season will have been good for him and could well prepare him well for a return to the PL. I feel that Colo suffered last year from a combination of first season syndrome in England and not having a settled defence around him. This year, the mainstay of our team has been the defence and Colo has been the crucial element in it. IMO, we already have PL quality defenders in Colo, Enrigue and Taylor. The jury is out on Williamson and Simpson but they are both young enough to adapt. The main problems in our team lie further forward.

So, he goes to Wigan. So what? He might be quick, has pace etc and yes, something we could do with, but his goals record is not actually outstanding, is it? We could do with an out and out poacher, someone like Fryatt from Leicester. I agree with most on here that the midfield needs some creativity and pace and that is why I am hoping for a fully fit Barton to come back and be p,layed in his rightful position. Furthermore, with Routledge on the right, Jonas on the left, Fryatt (if we could sign him) playing off Carroll and Barton supporting from the middle, the goals would flow.

Mowen They are estimates,. you dope. And dont you understand the significance of the ? after Moses name?????????????????????????????

Geremi - 62K Simpson - 10K Routledge - 15K Williamson - 10K Moses? - 20K Hall - 10K Chelsea Kid - 5K Total - 70k

Moses - 10 due to the 10 commandments, maybe?

Settle down guys, I dont think he will sign for us. It is typical of this club, build our hopes up and then finally admit we were close to getting him but we wouldnt pay the extra 10p to get him so he has signed for WBA.

Some papers are saying the Wilshire loan deal from Aersenal to Bolton has fallen through due to the argument between the two clubs recently over the Gallas tackle. If this is the case, we should steam in there and grab the lad until the end of the season.

Being my pessimistic self, Ashley's gamble will fail miserably. No signings, key players injured, congestion of fixtures, loss of form (only 1 win in 6 currently), we could drop like a stone due to this man's stupidity and fail to gain automatic promotion. Our only saving grace could be we may squeeze into a play off position and key players may return in time for those games. If we fail to go up, we will descend into a period of obscurity until the fat man bites the bullitt and sells the club for a quid because that is about all it will be worth by the time he finishes with us. Silly Bastard. Then again, I could be wrong

He will have to play one of the young kids at rb. I still feel we will be too good for them though. 2-1 -
In the words of Delboy, "What a Plonker". However, if it werent for these so called know it alls, the forum would be less interesting or amusing

Some great goals there for but pure importance at the time and in execution, I would say Nolan's winner at Preston

MADRAS Yeah, I know what you mean but at the same time, he appears to be free of any external controversy for the first time since we signed him at present and if some sort of maturity has finally settled in, maybe his mind could be totally focused on his ability for a change. Well, that is my hope. Forever the optimist. Creative genius may have been a bit strong. How about someone who can pass a ball to our forwards on a consistent basis therefore creating opportunities for them to score whilst pitching in with several goals himself from deeper positions? Will that do?

In spite of all his shortcomings, he is still an excellent footballer and prior to buying him from City, he was one of their best players. Obviously, the continuous social problems he has experienced has definitely affected his form plus a catelogue of serious injuries which would be debilitating. I believe that on his day, he is possibly the best footballer at the club. If, AND IT IS A BIG IF, he can show maturity and put his past behind him as well as fully recovering from his injuries, then Joey Barton could be that creative genius we are looking for. However, he NEEDS to be played in the middle of the park and not stuck out wide where he is less affective. If I were Hughton, I would be buying Routledge to play on the right, Jonas on the left, Smith and Barton in the middle.

So, is this deal done or not?
-
I dont think these are bad buys at all. Low fees, low wages, back up players, gives the squad more strength and the room to mprove to be first choice in the future, although Simpson is first choice now. We need to freshen up the squad for the run in and with Simpson signed, Williamson possible, Harewood probable and talk of this lad O'Connor as well, at least we are getting in bodies at a cheap cost. If we go up, then summer spending is more crucial.
-
He hasnt got long left in the game so you cannot blame him for going after one more big pay day and at least get his backside off the bench. Sunderland have major defensive injuries at present so the signiongs of Kilgallon and Beye are more cover related. It wont be long before both are warming the benches again.

Big Tron I expect you will get your wish, mate

In hindsight, Simpson, for the price, is a good signing and already has a proven record in the defence of this team this year. I dont even rthink we need Harewood b ecause I think Lovenkrands has proven recently that he is more than capable of scoring goals in this division. I woiuld really like to see more of Nile RANGER up front with Lovenkrands. Carroll and Ameobi can also supplement the atrcking force whilst we dont have many problems in defence (really rate Kadar and Krul if rerquired). Barton could be the key player here, We desperately need his crwative influence in midfield but not out wide but in the middle, even if it means dropping Nolan, especially at home. Promotion ism guaranteed if we play Barton in the middle at home in a 442 and Nolan in the middle supporting the lone striker in a 451 away.

aahhhhhhh, I have just cottoned on. Lee Ryders marks were not out of 10, but out of 50.
-
Yes, it was an open game but can you honestly tell me what chances we had where we shouild have scored other than one chance to Nolan on the edge of the box and the steven taylor miss from the corner near the end which was a very difficult chance. I can count at least three clear cut chances that WBA shouild have scored, just after we equalised, especially Miller and Olson free header that would have killed the game off. They dominated the game due mostly to their footballing ability whilst we huffed and puffed , especially in midfield. We were not at the races and were reduced to long punts up field to the head of Carroll in the end. I admit that we were unfortunate with the offside decision and the penalty decision on Carroll but they shouild have been out of sight by then.
-
Maybe Hughton can persuade Hutton that Newcastle is closer to Scotland than Sunderland
-
Skirge Swap the defences and goalkeeper and WBA would have won last nights game by a country mile. In raw footballing terms, we were totally outplayed, especially in midfield and out wide on ouir right. His biggest mistake was replacing Bednar who was causing no end of trouble to our defence with his movement and strength. He looked totally bemused when replaced and I didnt blame him. Dorrans was the best fooballer on the park and Thomas's wing play and combinatioin with Dorrans made Jonas and Enrigue look second rate. Admittedly, their fouling should have been dealt with more severely by the ref, especially Jara and Olson but then again, I thought Nolan should have received a straight red as well. If it wasnt for Carson in goal, we would have lost easily. No keeper shouild be beaten at their near post, especially by a reasonably weak header from 15 yards out at that angle. It was pure goalkeeping comedy. Dont start me on about our midfield, oine paced, pedestrian and played down one side virtually the entire game.
