If we want a draw at the very least at Cardiff, it will be a big mistake to pitch this lad into the team alongside the likes of Ranger or an unfit Carroll. Cardiff's central defvenders will eat them for lunch. Best practice would be to give the kid game time in cup matches against lesser opposition and build up substitute appearances in games where results cannot be reversed. Once he has gained confidence in himself over a number of months, then give him a few starts, but now is not the time. The team has too much to lose.

Mark Viduka is a Melbourne lad and he wants to play for Australia in the next world cup. Australian champions, Melbourne Victory, have just sold their centre forward, Danny Alsopp, to some club in Qatar. I would not be surprised to see Viduka offered a contract by Melbourne Victory for the remander of the Australian season to get him fit to go to the WC. Furthermore, a new Melbourne team is coming into the competition next season and the rumour here is that Viduka is lined up to be the marquee player, simlar to what Robbie Fowler is for the new Queensland team.

Keep the same defence as against Leicester. Why? Collocini has just flown a million miles or so for nothing whlst watching his country lose both games. He may not be 100% on the ball for Cardiff. Also, Simpson is quicker, more mobile and the same size as Chopra. Appoint Simmo the job of man marking Chopra, Taylor can take care of the big lad. I would play 4.4.1.1 with Nolan in behind Ranger, Carroll on the bench (wont be fit enough to play a full game) Midfield of Guthrie, Barton, Smith, Lua Lua (we need his pace).

I watched the full Argentina game this korning and to be frank, they were absolutelty rubbish. Some of Maradona's decisons were mystifying and a 1-0 defeat was a compliment. They did not appear to be organised at all and played Aguero up front on his own with Messi in the whole. Everytime Messi got the ball, he was closed down immediately by two or three paraguayans and subsequently, he went missing for most of the game. I cant understand why Veron gets picked. He is totally non productive and played most of the game on the right of midfield. Also, Maradona recalled Palermo (35) who hadnt played for the national team for 10 years and with the team still 0-1 down with 10 minutes to play, he chose to give a debut to a 36 year old centre back. Very strange indeed. IMHO, Maradonna is finished and wont be in charge of the national team by the weekend. If he is, then Uruguay will best them in Montevideo to get 5th place off them.

Could the winger be Andy Driver from Hearts?

Everyone is missing the point here. You cannot play your best team or formation, week in, week out. You need to change personnel and tactics to counter the different opposition styles.

I used to go to school with a bloke called Johnny Hall years ago. Yep, I remember him well, I used to tip him upside down and use his arse for an inkwell. No offence meant, by the way

Thomson House Yes, I thought that would be the case but when I looked at the satelite website yesterday, here in Oz, it wasnt listed for airing. Really glad it is. By the way, some bloke on nufc blog reckons a deal has been done to appoint Czabo Lzaslo (Spelling), the Hearts manager, as our new manager later in the week. Hope its bollox, by the way.

Redheugh Out of interest and as you work for a lawyer, did you say that the yanks have deposited funds as proof of purchase with lawyers last week? If so, can you confirm just how significant this is? I would think that companies looking for publicity stunts would not go as far as this. I am correct in thinking that the deposit is a significant amount?

Fatwax Yeah, will be tuned in and ready to go. They are televising a replay of the game at 12:30 am, wednesday morning our time, 3'30 tuesday afternoon your time but I will already know that we will have one 5-0 by then.......LOL
-
Fatwax Unfortunately, not down under. Will be relying on updates from you guys for any news.
-
Well, if as Redheugh says, the yanks have moved on from SP and negotiations are going on with Llambiarese and Ashley, if I was them, I would be interested to view my future investment. What better time than tonights game? Anyone going to the game to see who ios sitting in the owners area alongside Ashley and co. So, a player is coming in. I wonder whether it is either Killgallon or Lovenkrands or Vaughan or any bugger.

Well, if we were to get back up, the value of the club would increase substantially and like anything else in the states, their world revolves around money.
-
Nope, nothing. I have not been able to contact him.

How about this? Ashley has got investors from the US/Canada on board as well as Moat, who will take over as Chairman. Asdhley will therefore stay as the majority shareholder and new investors will provide money to pay off the loan and provide sum mtransfer monies. Shearer will be appointed and Moat will overseer the running of the club by developing a business plan based around the financial state of the club at present with a view of extending credit facilities, to a degree, should the club be promoted.
