Same player? Fits with my Tunisian/Barfa appeasement signing theory. Mark Douglas says it's not him.. Trust me: it'll be Ben something. Ben Kenobi. Something like that.

Ben Saada, Ben Khalfallah, Ben Yahia. Someone Tunisian with Ben in their name.

Reads more to me that Pardew's just saying he plays abroad rather than someone who's been capped by their country btw. Clearly. Having said that, it still doesn't make any sense.

Nosa Igiebor.

We had two positions sorted for years to come in the PL: LB & #9. Can't see us filling either slot with similar quality any time soon. We're a selling club at the minute and there's nothing that can be done to change it. Just hurts that now we're seemingly on the up, players are jumping ship.

Honestly, it's fucking atrocious. What were they thinking?

WTF, I know Jack from back at school and even though he is one of us he has always put his all when playing football for them at every level. It's disappointing to see people knocking him just because he's a Newcastle fan. He really does put 100% into every game. Is there anything you understand?

The Blizzard - new football quarterly magazine/book

Same, I was really impressed. Think each issue costs £10 though. Regular monthly's about a fiver now, tbh. -
Tapping up Drogba on the touchline was a smart move. I like it.

Agree with Ronaldo on everything. FML. But to expand: Overall reflections Brilliant season, imo, when taken as a whole. We're a decent mid-table team which, with a few key additions, could cause problems for a lot of sides next season. Also, we've showed real character throughout the season and delivered the goods at crucial moments: to punch through the debacle of January and look up, not down, is a testament to our mental fortitude and the genuine PL quality in the side. Let's not fuck it up now. High Moment Villa. THIS. IS. NEWCASTLE. I always expected us to hump the mackems, tbh. And, of course, Arsenal was a 90 minute summary of the madness of this club. Plus, realising that Alan Smith was never going to get a game. Brilliant. Low Moment The transfer window, closely followed by the Hughton sacking. The fact we didn't strengthen--didn't have time to strengthen--gave me the fear: having to rely on the likes of Shola, Loven etc. to get us the goals to keep us in the league. It was a gamble, tbh, and Mike's proven he's a shit punter. I still don't understand the Hughton sacking other than Mike Ashley is a bellend. Other disappointments: Stephen Ireland, Routledge and Sol Campbell. Best Player Coloccini. Absolutely won me over since his debut season. Did really well last year in the Championship and has been a rock this season and actually seems to be improving. There is some argument as to whether he or Woodgate is our best PL-era centre-half but one thing in Colo's favour is the fact he rarely misses a game which is a huge asset. Best Individual Performance Tiote at Arsenal. Fucking brilliant. Perfect combination of strength, finesse and passion. Best Buy Tiote, obviously. Best buy for ages and ages. Most Improved Carroll, probably, although Best has been a revelation in his own way.

Couple of weeks' break and then we get a load of shit about who's signing and it's all back on.
-
Agreed. If he goes to a top four club, fair enough. If I see him playing every week for Birmingham, I'll be really disappointed.

Oh, god. The Elbow montage.

Think Colo's been right up there as well, but Jonas has kept going until the finish line. Props.

While I'd like him, I don't understand the clamour for him. Why'd he come back here? Why'd we spend cash on a player we'd previously sold?
-
In CM? No thanks.

I've said all along we've got the makings of a good top 6 side with some additions: we are a good side with little to no strength in depth. I'd be looking for first-team additions to strikers, right-wing, central midfield and ideally, goalkeeper. Having said all that, keeping the good players we have will be a good start. Sort it out, Derek & Mike.

Krul 5.5: Good and bad. Slipped up for the goal. Simpson 5.75: Still the weakest link in defence. If he were Russian he'd be called Dani Backsoffalot. Saylor 8: Strong at the back, dangeresque in the oppo box. He can still fuck off with the Captain Fantastic bollocks. Colo 8: Immense. Read everything, killed everything. Enrique 8: One slip up for the FK, but ruled as per. Lovenkrands 5.5: Tries. Raylor 5: Ugly and shit. Barton 6: Faded in and out. Came into it in the second and wound up Lampard which is nice. Ferguson 7: Great display. Real confidence and energy allied to pace and tekkas. Jonas 7: Worked hard. Great bum use for his goal. Ameobi 6: The odd good touch, but usual Shola performance in the main. Subs: Great work from them all, tbh. Seemed to inject us with confidence and fizz just when we needed it. Especially noteworthy: Ranger's header for the goal.

Just glad there was some justice today. No way did Chelsea deserve to jam themselves to 3 points, the cunts.
