As I said elsewhere, the beauty about appointing someone now is that he has almost half a season of zero pressure to get to know the players and club, work out what needs fixed/replacing and get ready for summer.

Probably Barry the tire fitter from Byker.

Never going to happen, Mourinho is lined up for AC Milan and why would Lippi come to us? Do people think that we appointed Souness, Roeder and Sam even though the best managers in the world were willing to come to us? Do you honestly think there was no one better than Roeder? Or do you think that was just a convinient option for Shepherd? If Man City can get SGE, we can get a decent manager in too, I would've thought.
-
No offence to Hughes, I think he's alright, but let's get a fucking monster this time. If we can get a Lippi or a Mourinho, let's pull out the stops. If he fails, we know that the board have done the best they can.

Can Anyone Think OF A Positive Allardyce Has Brought To NUFC?

Aye, there is that. Top player. -
wages and a bigger transfer kitty haven't we always had that? Maybe we have, but even Robson said he was practically insulted with the wages Shepherd first offered him.

No one cares what the Chronicle says. They're full of shit.

Is your mate one of these fucking apes on SSN?
-
yup. Especially when it seems to be the same group who want Mourinho appointed. I think i see the problem here. Still think it will be Mark Hughes. Pack it in. You think it's good practise to sack one merely competent manager only to bring in another one? That's why we'd be pissed off. If the sacking and all the upheaval that goes with it is simply to put in place another fucking nobody, then what's the point?

His contact probably asked him to keep schtum. Either that or he just made it up. keep schtum on the telly when we DONT have a manager, but its alright to print in the paper when we DO? Precisely. Now you're getting it: he made it up.
-
There's so much against Redknapp, that I just can't see it being him. He's denied he's been asked, he's turned down jobs 'up norf' before, he's another scandalacious manager that I'm sure Ashley could do without, Pompey are doing alright, he's too fucking old. I'd be shocked if he came, tbh.

I suspect the players fucking hated him too, which probably didn't help. Mort's going, 'Hang on. This fella's making all my employees miserable and we're underperforming. Hmmmm...'

There is that, but ultimately, everyone in the football world is linked. Diarra was no doubt being courted by a number of clubs including Spuds, I believe. You can join these dots many ways, but only the clinically insane would join them to form Redknapp's ugly mug. I reckon the Diarra deal was instigated by Mourinho who's been lurking in the shadows for a few weeks now.

Ultimately, if Mort/Ashley had no confidence in Allardyce it was best to get rid ASAP and bring in their own man rather than waste another season. If we can get the right man in, I think this is actually a good time to replace a manager. This season's a write-off, anyway, so the new man won't be judged at all this season. Essentially, he gets ~16 matches to learn about the team and club plus a whole summer to do work.

What a twat. His face looks like a scrunched-up paper bag.

He's done nowt, but how much can anyone do in the time he had? -
Not necessarily. These type of clauses are fairly common in big business.
-
Tbh, once Mort knew that he was going to give Allardyce the heave-ho, he should've told him. No idea why he took training/press conference if he's getting the sack.
