We could've just played Gooch upfront and saved money if we wanted a Baptista.
-
You could paraphrase, like.

Wahey!

Howay, lads. At least make it a debate. This positivity's killing me.

How is everyone's faith in Allardyce holding up after the news about Ashley's takeover bid? I know a lot of people think SA's just the type of fella we needed to help put 'structures' in place, get us organised and bring the best out of cheaper signings, but is he the type of manager who'd you trust with--potentially--tens of millions of pounds and the superstar egos these signings can bring?

THE STRONGEST EVER!

'No better supporters in the world'? If anything, that doesn't go far enough. I'm sure the majority will agree with me when I say that there are no better people on the planet than Liverpool supporters.
-
Why's no one mentioned how shit Alonso was?
-
Christ. We've lost the FA Cup enough times, like. Also, did I say that Xabi Alonso was completely shit? Cos he was.
-
That's fuck all. I heard that Steven Taylor interview last week when he said all the lads should be giving 120%. Lazy cunt.
-
Hold on!!!! I think you're getting us mixed up with Spurs mate. Doubt it, otherwise he would have had to add on 2 uefa cups, 2 more FA cups, 3 league cups, 1 cup winners cup and 7 community shields Pretty sure we've won the charity shield, and there should be more than 2 league titles. Most importantly: no mention of our amazing success in the Texaco Cup?

Touch'e But still a shit rule.... 97 posts left.. He's earnt his right to post shit.

agree. big shame milan won when they have no right to be in the competition itself. but i do think benitez made errors, and what a stage to fuck up on, for not the first time (tho in istanbul he managed to rectify his mistake at half time). I don't really want to knock Benitez too much: top manager who's often got the best out of a limited squad (in CL terms). Didn't have the quality on the pitch tonight to win, though, imo.
-
Thought Milan were shit, tbh. Barely a decent performance out there. Bringing Kewell on was a huge fuck-up, imo. Bellamy would've been 1,000 times more effective. Crouch came on too late (13 minutes to change a match?) Still, 2 half-arsed performances from both teams: no one deserved to win.
-
Pennant was alright except: 1. His final ball was utterly shit 4 times out of five 2. He dwelt on the ball too long when he should've passed it much quicker 3. He's a diving little twat Nobody else impressed me either, like. Really mediocre performances all around.

Alonso: fucking shit.

If only that were true. Like, even in the slightest bit. In my experience it is, and I have moderated forums myself. And like it or not, but one of the best administrated football forum on the internet imho is the smb where they don't make that much of fuzz about all these things. Tbh, I was there today getting some dirt for a hate campaign against my colleague, and I thought it was a load of crap. Well organised, like.

But then we'd whine about it... A bloody good point. Can we not just call it off and say no one wins this year just to play it safe?
-
Theres the arguement though that theres no need to make them captain. Players who are leaders on the pitch will lead regardless of whether theyre wearing the armband or not. Hence, why many managers often use the armband to keep their best player happy and dedicated to the club. Yup, made this point years ago about Gary Speed. He was our real leader on the pitch, letting him go was a big mistake. FFS' doing, if I'm not mistaken.
-
Cos he was shit and he cost 8m quid.
-
It's not just that. His touch has been diabolical along with his decision making. Definitely started out as an injury thing and ended up a major confidence issue. I'll think he'll get that back and become a really decent full-back again.
-
Possibly, but underrated by a canny few as well. Good player, and better than anyone we've had since Woodgate left
-
Think he'll recover to become one of the best left-backs in Europe, personally. Was unbelievably good in his first season at Man Utd.

Speaking of Campbell and more experienced defenders in general, we are being linked with Hyppia today also as it looks like he will be let go by Liverpool this summer. Do I not fancy a back two made up of Cambell and Hyppia. Slowest defence in the history of the world.
