  1. 11 missed pens? Sounds like a lot. I can only remember three or four off the top of my head.

    Mediocrity

The only time I've seen us really stroke the ball around was away against Waregem in the last ten mins or so.

Won hardly anything at Inter, if any top side is the epitomy of underachivement its that club. He won the Championship, Italian Cup twice and the Super Cup with them. Underachieving cunts.
  4. Surely Martins can do one of them Stevie Watson throw-ins?
  5. Premiership = Premier League. Okay... but what's this 'away win' everyone keeps going on about?
  6. When did this forum start using so many long words? What the hell are you guys on about?
  7. I can count on one hand the number of central midfielders i've seen with worse distribution and what's this 'decent shot' he has? Has he ever produced anything more than a 'toe punt' from outside the area? To describe him as a 'great individual player' is laughable. we've had at least two of these over the past few years. I can name bloody loads worse or, at least, not much better just in recent times: Faye, Jenas, Dyer, Batty, McClen, Glass, Bowyer, Ambrose, etc.

Even with his poor shooting, I think he's still our 4th highest scorer in the league even after injuries.
  9. He's not perfect, but you can twist stats all different ways. I hear we've won or drawn nearly 80% of matches Luque's started. That doesn't mean we should play him every match.
  10. There wasn't any booing, it's just that the boos will come sooner or later.
  11. The booing when we finished 5th makes me embarrassed, especially when the same people stayed back and applauded the team that finished 14th, pathetic. Just to clarify, when I said out of order, I meant it's not often they're completely wrong. It was out of order and SBR didn't deserve that at all.

    Gordon Strachan

Decent bloke and manager. Better than Roeder, but that's not saying that much.
  13. I don't agree with booing, in general, but it's not often the boo-boys are completely out of order. See the booing at the end of Robson's last season. At the time, lots of folk thought it was out of order because we'd finished 5th, but it was clear to most that standards had slipped badly and we were no longer playing good football. Of course, if the boo boys'd known Souness was going to be the result, they might have kept schtum.
  14. Agree 100% that Nobby has been awesome at RB compated to Carr but Duff at LB, na no way he just looks a bag of nervs is never to sure what position to take up, when to go to the man and ball or when to drop off, Baba sadly is still our best option at LB. I'm not saying Duff was as good at LB as Nobby has been at RB, but he's done better there, imo, because his limitations aren't shown up to such an extent (i.e. can't beat his man with the ball, totally one footed, etc.)
  15. Zog, obviously. Duff and Nobby have had similar seasons, if you ask me: both have looked much better at full-back than they have in their natural positions.
  16. Unacceptable performance and result today. And I think it IS down to Roeder. Poor starting XI, no real hunger on display, and shoddy teamwork all round: nowt new. If you look at how well a decent, organised outfit like Reading can play--with average players--and compare with our headless chicken approach in the second half, you'll see that more work, much more, needs to be done on the training ground.
  17. Honestly, apart from Seville we are probably the best team in the competition. No one we should be afraid of, imo.

    Daydreaming...

I had a dream the other night where I went round Dyer's house and challenged him to a keepie-uppie contest. He bottled out of it, the big girl. I'm not sure this is on topic.

    Wolves

    We can only hope.

    St James' Park

Aye the horseshoe effect looks the best, and is actually planning permission viable. Could put some kind of poncy architectual arch in between or something. Or have it spanned by a huge statue of Shearer, legs akimbo.
  21. Also, I wonder what these managers 'lose record' is, an aal...
  22. I wonder what Souness's win record is?
  23. Terry, Ferdinand, Woodgate or similar. Having said that, even good (not even great) defenders would cope if they had a Makelele/Keane type player in front of them.
  24. Bwahahaha. Funny how they all come across as decent lads on that video, but often don't do so well when interviewed individually. Also, Diarra: decent player.
