  1. check out rtg? Sold out marra. 55,000 screaming jawdees inside the ground and another 100,000 on the waiting list locked outside. FTM.
  2. Good to see it getting coverage. Considering such a thing has probably never happened before ( has it?) I was really surprised that none of the TV shows showed it fully, indeed last night's ITV North East news didn't even show that goal at all!
  3. I just can't see any way that they can really improve. They come up with lame excuses about injuries but almost every club suffers the same thing. Who's to come back who can make them significantly better ? They sometimes go on like they have 6 top players returning. January - how can things change much then? What logical reason is there why any half decent player, with any kind of options, would go there especially as it seems the owner is no longer prepared to pay well above the going rate to tempt them to the cesspit.
  4. Not really tested yesterday but the current back 5 look like a very decent unit. Gets some stick but Dummet was good yesterday and Lascelles was excellent.

    Lookalikes

When did Harry Enfield sign for Stoke ?
  6. Aye nice club. Always thought the same about their nearest and dearest tbf but definitely went off them a bit when Fatty Balls was giving it the big celebrations when they went 3-1 up against us.
  7. As the Bhoy has pointed out the image of that woman punching the air in celebration, sitting on the shoulders of fellow mackems delighted as their Brexit result was announced will not be forgotten, and that result causing so much uncertainty to their biggest industrial employer is such a cruel irony. Businesses and industry leaving or reducing investment, currency collapsing, inflation looming, no vision of where we go regarding trade deals, etc etc. All before we've even invoked the article! What were the good things they were supposed to be celebrating again..... ? PS know this maybe should be in another thread :-)
  8. In a season which will be mostly very enjoyable there will be a few bumps along the way which will be very disappointing at the time. I wonder if tomorrow may be one of those bumps or whether after the three we have already had there won't be any more for a while ?
  9. Read a very good article recently about the surge of interest in English football from Chinese investors at a time when their own government has plans to push their domestic game to elite levels. It said that many of the people involved are little known even in their own country and their dealings and motives are "opaque" to say the least. It concluded saying that while football fans are usually optimistic when their club gets new ownership in these cases it may be best to "be careful what you wish for".
  10. FSA may be damaged goods but even he wouldn't touch them with a shitty stick this time round.
  11. Yeah definitely. It's not like players sometimes take a dip in form and start suffering from a lack of confidence or anything. Seriously while I haven't seen him pull up any trees yet, I haven't seen anything which warrants the levels of criticism he seems to get from some on here either. He'll come good.
  12. Is this going to be another sell out ? (apart from any tickets not sold by Ipswich)
  13. Lets not get too carried away, if Huddersfield win by 12 or more tonight we're off the top again.
  14. While it is a statement of the obvious that the Premier League has higher quality, the Championship is often easier on the eye and provides just as much excitement.
  15. Lower match day revenue than Hull City! As the article says it really shows just how much of their "amazing support" is paying nowt to get in. There have been many bad decisions since, but Bob Murray's vanity project to "always have one more seat than Newcastle" has ultimately backfired on them. If they hadn't allowed the Newcastle obsession to cloud their judgement they could have built a new stadium like Boro, Southampton, Derby or similar size clubs which would have been nearly full for most games and with occasional real sell outs. This would have made a better atmosphere and given them some ability to control pricing and keep it at a premium instead of playing if front of thousands of empty seats and the indignity of foisting thousands of free tickets on less than enthusiastic recipients.
  16. Barnsley, like every other team in the league, to raise their game because it's Newcastle and a full stadium. 0-1.
  17. Probably just need to be patient. I'd have taken 6th at end of September when I saw the opening fixtures and still think were slightly ahead of the game despite being 2nd/3rd.
  18. He was just plain awful. Pretty much picked up from where he left at Fulham away. Probably going to have to learn to live with how bad they are considering the Premier league standard (with a couple of exceptions) is little better.
