  1. Most of us thought that was funny (on them) at the time, but nowadays it's just plain hilarious.
  2. Beggars belief that you'd travel to London for a weekend and spend it doing that. I suppose that's mackems for you.....
  3. I don't think anyone who has had the misfortune to be in Newcastle Airport and seen entire family of mackems kitted out in football strips, including grandparents with "FTM" printed on the back of theirs, will be particularly surprised by the behaviour they're inflicting on London this weekend.
  4. See the Don is apparently banning journalists from the ground who dare to question the party line, according to a thread on RTG. Hardly a healthy way to be behaving when there's nothing to hide ? Most third division teams would just be grateful that the press are taking an interest in them but they do seem to get a huge amount of TV and radio coverage up here compared to other lower league clubs.
  5. Can't imagine anyone with a few brain cells will be falling off their seats in surprise at this story. The two of them have played a blinder so far, we know how mackems are desperate to be liked and how easily they swallow anything if it's tinged with a bit of anti-Newcastle sentiment, but it's quite astonishing how easily most of them have been taken in by these two, especially Methven. There's a clutch of stooges on RTG who stoically defend everything about the pair, smitten by their charms, but even they will have to see the light eventually.
  6. wtf? Drew 6-6 and got beat on pens, highlights are on YT. Deary me! Never heard about that game before. Was live on Sky in their early days. Hilarious interview with some pissed up Newcastle fans at HT. Just wouldn't happen nowadays.
  7. "I don’t know the details of what they’re talking about" Isn't that just true of everything that's gone on at NUFC in the post-Shepherd era ? Doesn't stop them pretending they know more than the average Joe though. Suppose they're obliged to write something.
  8. Not really too bothered about any of them. It would be funny if Charlton beat Sunderland again but with their squad and financial state they'd have a horrible season if they were promoted,so win/win. That said if they do win we'll no doubt get a couple of weeks of Catts for England, how they're on their way to emulating Man City, Jack Dross is so much better than Rafa, how they're the biggest club in the Championship and the usual "our fans" drivel, so maybe a Charlton win would be best.
  9. We scored some feckin amazing goals this season and some of them don't even make that list.
  10. Everything about this is just so right, from a business and operational angle as well as it being a good fit for all the interested parties. Even by Ashley's unpredictable standards it would be a monumental fuck up if it didn't happen.
  11. On Sunday night, everyone's least favourite geriatric wannabe hardman started threatening some poor Pompey fan on RTG and offering to meet up with him where he would "put him on his arse" and "batter him". The posts were later deleted and he was then banned. On another thread he boasted that if he was with his son they could take on any six people and win !! Imagine being in your mid sixties, boasting about how hard you are, offering out complete strangers and threatening them with violence on an online forum Seriously??... Reiver started his keyboard warrior antics again This is the same cunt who wanted that Millwall fan to come stay with him and orgainsed a whip round for his heroics. He tucked his tail between his legs when the clown was outed as a racist fuck The cunt is just some failed fucking bouncer who thinks hes some tough guy absolute disgrace of a human being mind saying that theres a shitmload of the same ilk on RTG How did you guess Bit sad really www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/portsmouth-fans-what-a-joke-you-are.1472953/page-9#post-29696413"]Portsmouth fans what a joke you are www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/may-12th-live-footy-on-tv.1472970/page-8#post-29695367"]May 12th live footy on tv

  13. ......... and reproduce and travel abroad....
  14. No way the logic of "not having to spend a lot" applies there. They're atrocious at every level of the club and there is no easy solution even if they were promoted. They don't have two pennies to rub together and their academy has been set back years through cuts. And where on earth are any new owners coming from? When he gave the club away 12 months ago, Short could find no better interested party than a non-league chancer and a serial bullshitter. They're even less likely to attract serious people now. Cattermole, Grigg etc will continue to bleed off any incomes while they see their time out, and as long as the chancers running them continue making decisions like paying Grigg a relative fortune instead of spending a fraction of that keeping Mata, and going full tilt at tin pot trophies to try and make a few bob extra then they're going nowhere.
  15. 23,000 empty seats for their biggest home game of the season. So the club with the most empty seats in English football year on year do it again Our fans. Trafalgar Square. FTM.
  16. There's no doubt that if he managed Barcelona or Ajax for the second legs they'd both be in the final.
  17. So we go into the last fixtures of the PL season with everything decided except the biggest prize of all. Champions League places, Europa League places and relegation all sorted just the big one to decide, surrounded no doubt by the biggest hype for quite a while. Of course had the referees not given Liverpool that free kick for the most obvious dive you'll ever see, or had Newcastle went on to equalise with their last attack instead of being penalised for some "phantom" foul which no one but the referee saw, then the broadcaster that puts billions into the Premier League pot would be left with a bit of a non-event on Sunday instead of the huge global story it will be hyped as instead. Just saying like .............
  18. Plenty in with a shout. All the defenders have done well, Dummet's displays since returning, over a season would have made him a contender but Schär has probably been top man. Ritchie probably shades it out of the midfielders due to consistency and desire to compete whatever the situation, but a big shout for Hayden too. All the summer arrivals have had their moments despite the negativity that surrounded them, KSY, Schar, Fernandez, Dubravka all excellent, only Kenedy has disappointed. Ayoze has been sublime this year and as Ian W said could well have been the difference between a fairly relaxed end to the season and a nailbiter, but overall for me it has to be Rondon. He's been mostly superb, scored all types of brilliant goals, played a target man/lone striker role in a Benitez set up to near perfection and throughout shown great character with a lovely smile on his face. It's been a really good second half of the season, some really good football, brilliant matches and most of us looking forward to the next match positively for the first time in a while.
  19. Please, please, please. It'll finally push most of them over the edge
  20. He may well fancy a move to play in the Spanish league but has Pérez ever even lived on mainland Spain? Tenerife is around 2000 km from mainland Spain. Someone from Gibraltar moving to England is less distance than someone from Tenerife moving to Spain. Yes, Newcastle is closer to Madrid and Barcelona than Ayoze's home is, although in fairness most people in his home town do support one of those two.

  22. Ayoze loves being at Newcastle but his recent level of performance will have given him new, and very good, options should he wish to take them. The club has to now convince him his future, and what he aspires to, remains here. Eventually everyone moves on in football, but Ayoze has become connected to the club and region.
  23. Yep. My only rationale on this is that although I can't stand Man City, I fucking hate Liverpool.
  24. That's all you have to do to appease the masses down there. Works every time The Don and posh boy have played them like a fiddle.
