Was that article written by a trained journalist or someone on work experience ? If the former, then the Grauniad really is sinking fast.

The winner is standard Lowes like. "to Sissoko!..........................has scored" Still think Mick Lowes is a great commentator with an excellent understanding of the game. -

That Newcastle score while driving reaction, had it a few times, dangerous man, but survived so far. -
Is that the same SJP which has been our spiritual home for more than a century, is in a prime real-estate area in the middle of one of Britain's most interesting cities, and is a mere stone's throw from dozens, nay hundreds, of top class bars and restaurants ? Compare that to a soulless, identikit, typical 1990's flat pack stadium, built for peanuts on a former colliery slag heap, in the middle of err....Sunderland. It would take a fair old dollop of red and white bias and bitterness to claim the SoS is a better venue.

It's the weekly "Gateshead" thread today

He's gonna be our 21st century Stan Seymour. Player, captain, manager, chairman -
Good quotes. Seems like theres a pretty good chance this will be our captains last season. I'd read it as saying he'll almost certainly be leaving in the summer, tbh. Well at least he's making it clear, not staying quiet like Joké Enrique. Who knows, but the summer will give him time and space to consider things and it may refresh his desire to be part of our future, which looks a bit rosier right now. If it's a return to Argentina he wants, the problem of financing the deal will still exist.

My ticket came in the post yesterday. There were plenty available when i bought it online last week. A decent day at Spurs on Saturday and interest for this will be very high again.

They should be wearing masks. I'd want 400 at least.

Damn straight. We barely manage to beat Villa, and while we looked fantastic, Chelsea are struggling to pull up trees at the moment, recently drawing with Reading and losing at home to QPR. We look like we have some confidence back, which is terrific, but lets not go overboard eh. Aye, a great performance on Saturday and a feeling not unlike the Boro match during the relegation season, however I remembered and quoted a relevant line from Winston Wolf in "Pulp Fiction" on more than one occasion on Saturday evening.

Why? Cos we've had two days of relative positivity on here and that's far too long. Anyway where the fuck has Malandro gone ? -
Was it flatpack though? Nah, but it had very good heated seats. Thing was when I picked it up the heated seats were on and I couldn't find the off switch. They were having a fucking heatwave and I drove from Landvetter to Gothenburg before stopping, by which time I was sweating like a mackem on derby day.

Aye me too, there were tons of Chelsea 'fans' around town with Jock accents. Gloryhunting bastards. Always surprises me how few Scottish fans we have given our relative proximity to Scotland. I'd probably disagree with that, I think we have a lot of Scottish fans. Many from the borders but always see NUFC tops in Glasgow, Edinburgh and especially Aberdeen too. -
I once rented a Volvo.

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showpost.php?p=14393024&postcount=16 Didn't they release a DVD when they beat Chelsea? Anyone know when it's in the shops ? Can't wait to buy it. Haven't purchased one since the 5-1, Sunderland fans desert their team at half time classic.

We should have a sweep, perhaps on the month, when the balance against Marty finally tilts and it all turns nasty. They still seem to maintain a fawning, almost idiotic, blind faith in his ideology and ability, but I'm pretty sure if there was even the most tenuous of "Geordie" connections he'd be getting the Brucey treatment already.

From the banner in the away fans on Saturday it looks like the Glasgow Rangers/Chelsea love in continues. How sad. I've got nothing against either club, in fact I've always had a soft spot for Rangers, but I find this rather strange liason quite pathetic. -
All true marra, and mag at work told me open-top bus parade from Barrack Road to Civic Centre organised for this afternoon. 1-9 FTM STHT.

We really should cut them some slack and be a bit more sympathetic to their wretched plight. As fans they have two major obsessions, Newcastle United and crowd size. One is borne out of inferiority and lack of identity the other out of realising that their soulless flat pack arena will never be filled again unless Newcastle or Take That are in town. Oh how it must pain them to see what was going on at SJP around 4.45 pm on Saturday as another sell out crowd were on their feet and united as one, willing their team to a deserved victory over the European champions. To realise you will never enjoy such experiences, while watching your closest rivals revelling in it must be very frustrating indeed.

Obertan's looked good this season more often than not. He's a very good option from the bench. If available he would have been the best option to relieve a bit of pressure 2nd half against Villa. -
He's a canny lad, but by PL standards he's so average - in fact he's not even that.
