  1. I think any legal action would be along the line of compensation for lost earnings/medical fees/injury caused by a reckless and violent action, and be taken against the alleged offender. They'd have a pretty strong case based on what any sane person can see with their own two eyes.
  2. Don't think there has ever been such a level of anger still around two days after an incident like this. Says it all really. Mind the disgraceful comments from people at Wigan Athletic have stoked the anger up too.
  3. Best keep Williamson fit because the chances of Taylor and MYM getting through 10+ very important club games and now internationals too must be very slim indeed.

    Alan Pardew

Probably agree that Pardew's level of restraint was the best way, but also time I think we have been a bit of a soft touch on and off the pitch when it comes to standing up to incorrect decisions etc over the last couple of years. Imagine if a ManU player had been on the receiving end of that assault yesterday? I don't normally like seeing that kind of carry on, but in the face of such violent provocation yesterday I say well done to John Carver and Andy Woodman who was right behind him.
  5. The behaviour of Wigan Athletic Football Club, their manager, their fans, the thug MacManaman and now their chairman has been vile and despicable, not to mention insulting to the injured player. It should never be forgotten.
  6. I think he meant to 'do' him, plain and simple. 100% this. Anyone who's ever played football, and I guess that's most of us, know exactly what his intention was. For Martinez or anyone else to deny it, or use expressions like "mis-timed", is a lie and a further insult to the victim.
  7. Only one person to blame for that disgraceful, cowardly tackle and that is the thug who did it. That said, Halsey is getting away quite lightly with his "Arsene Wenger" approach to the situation. He should have seen it and so should his assistant. No excuses. Halsey has always ran around the pitch smiling and waving his arms, his trademark is the "play on" call because he cannot make difficult calls. I think many just viewed him as a likeable buffoon sort previously, but yesterday showed what he really is, incompetent and dangerous. A club could potentially be relegated by the two points Wigan cheated their way to yesterday and that is very bad for the sport of football.
  8. No. They've got worse. Sad indictictment of PL refereeing is that the best one they've ever had was an amatuer who's day job was a schoolmaster at Eton.
  9. May be more to do with his post match interview. Regarding the tackle he basically said Macmanaman (in his opinion) is a decent bloke, and someone once made a really bad tackle on a Wigan player, so basically it's all ok. Absolute fucking disgrace.
  10. Love your city. This will be a real treat for Newcastle fans. Newcastle is a pretty good place too which I'm sure your fans will enjoy too.
  11. There's direct flights from London or Manchester. Easyjet from Luton might be one of the better bets. For the cost is may pay to just link from Newcastle to Heathrow. The stop over is a joke though. Most are 18 hours wait Faro to Lisbon is a pretty decent rail service. Cheap too.
  12. A beautiful European draw. Playing a classic European club in one of the continent's best cities. Respect to them but they will be no harder than Anji. I think they'll be able to sell SJP out twice over for the 2nd leg.

  14. Rather the pricks didnt go to our games if thats what they do every Euro game tbh. Why bother? Same as the tossers who ran on the pitch for 3 games in a row or whatever it was. Aye, I was to the right of it. After I while I could smell it, some right special ones went last night. Europe has shown how many tosspots support us this year. Absolutely no need at all to do it every game. Can't understand how few regulars around last night. I'd imagine it will be all ticket from now on though with a much higher uptake by season ticket holders.
  15. I don't think it was lost on anyone what a goal for them would have meant and that had a huge bearing on the way the game played out. Had we gone behind it would have been a totally different game, possibly more pleasing to the eye but most probably ending in defeat. I thought we got it spot on and considering the quality of the opposition and their coach it was a great performance.
  16. Apparently Graham Carr has been closely moitoring the Shark Bar and some major signings could be imminent.
  17. I'd be quite content to have Krul and Elliot at the club for the next few years.
  18. I thought it was a thoroughly absorbing game and Anji were as good a side as I've seen at SJP this season. Like the first leg it was a real tactical duel with two superb defences limiting clear cut chances. At half time I'd have taken penalties but second half we looked the better side. To think that we won such a difficult tie without six players who would probably make our first choice XI is very encouraging. Special mention to Taylor and Marveaux - both outstanding on the night.
  19. Our odds have shortened this morning. Significant? I got us at 31/20 a couple of days ago but don't think that's around any more. Mind it's pushed them out to a very fair 5/2.

Sounds like a lot of the ST renewals they're sending out right now are going straight into the bin. I don't have a degree in marketing, but I'd think it's pretty obvious that if you constantly offer reduced price/free tickets to all and sundry then you're going to piss off your premium paying clients. Coupled with the dire fayre that Marty brings to the table and no realistic chance of progress in the forseeable future it's a perfect recipe for mass cancellations.

Most of them do at some point. It tends to be teams who aren't doing as well as their fans expected. Liverpool are the classic example, although Arsenal have been doing it a lot. It also tends to be teams with local rivals, so Arsenal will put out a combined North London team. I feel like I've seen a lot of combined Liverpool-Spurs teams over the last four or five years though. its pointless drivel tbh. It certainly is, particularly when discussed by such blinkered fans. However they love doing it bless them, and along with the threads about attendance excuses, Gateshead/Durham demographics, how no mags ever went to SJP before 1992 and even now only watch the games on Sky, it will be raised on a regular basis.
  22. Ayr fans turned over a few cars around Westgate Road / Bath Lane. Games against Scottish clubs were always a bit mental.
  23. He doesn't want to be here, man. Because of a personal issue, whatever that may be. Has he acted in any way unprofessionally, or shown, on the pitch, that he doesn't? Well, his performances has been pretty poor compared to last season, if that's anything to go by. Earlier in the season, perhaps. Not since this all came to light. It might just be me, but I don't think he's been the Colo of last season all year. Before and after the San Lorenzo news came out. Don't think San Lorenzo has been the problem. More an attempted solution to the problem.

It's little wonder they're so bitter when you read this. It really illustrates the difference between the clubs. Can't wait until he comes off the bench for his routine goal next month http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2292368/Shola-Ameobi-set-50th-Newcastle-European-appearance-Anzhi.html#ixzz2NPwinWII
