Jose would be mental to move surely? He is adored where he is. If he does take it, it further pushes me away from wanting him here down the line and reinforces the notion that while he invariably brings success he just doesn't stick around very long at clubs. I want a manager that will be with us mid to long term. Hopefully that's Howe But you can bet he will be right up there if Southgate flops in Qatar.

Always good to break those 60 year jinxes.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Got a plane to catch after all.. -
Backline is a shambles and midfield is pretty anonymous. Not a huge surprise with such a jumbled lined up but it's a terrible watch so far!

I have no problem waiting here. Especially as we will know either way this week. We obviously feel he is worth the effort. He is potentially a transformative and key piece for us for the next 5-10 years. He has been pretty complimentary towards us. Its not like he isn't interested in coming here imo. It's just one move is far better an option for his career right now and in a career that could end via injury in an instant I can't blame players for going with that. If there was an offer in from Milan for Bruno he would have gone there too. We aren't in the position to be natural first choice for the best players in the world right now, regardless of what their PR team will tell you. I am fully confident we will get someone just as good if he ends up at Milan but we clearly see Botman as THE guy we want, so let's see how the week goes.

All the pieces are coming together when you look back at the thread. Almost as if I will see a post saying this isn't a world cup qualifier next.

Tomori and Guehi injured, White pulled out. I can only imagine Big Dan Burn dropped his phone on the floor and by the time he got to ground level to pick it up he missed the call.

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/diego-simeone-outlines-what-yannick-24143420 "He has even featured as an auxiliary left wing-back, sometimes operating opposite Trippier on the right flank." Wonder if that has any bearing on the Targett/Lodi debate? Carrasco when we want to attack teams Targett if we want to be more defensive? Think it would waste Yannicks talents?
-
Know literally nothing about Justin. I take it he is an attacking full back. Feel like Targett really earned a call but fair play if he doesn't fit the system.

Packed house at wembley. Looks like they gave away tickets to every youth club possible.
-
To be fair he would tell you that about himself.
-
Lol so no surprises or developments from what we already knew. It was clear they would be his first choice. It's down to whether they can afford him and if not whether we become a better alternative. If they look elsewhere he will probably end up here.

Aye. I think the price will be right to sell easier than convincing the players to go somewhere and earn less. Could see more loans to see some of the players out the door.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

I thought the same thing after watching a couple of highlight videos, although people that have watched him in games this year have said that is one of his strengths, so I imagine that is maybe another one of the clips deceptions. -
Of all the strikers linked he is the one I want. Complete contrast and missing link from what we have. Strong, great pace but also direct. He can be a battering ram and hold up the ball too. Think he would be a great partner to Wilson or a focal point if Wilson isn't fit. Doubt he is open to come given all other offers on the table. The price tag would likely be most of our budget too. I can see us looking to sign a big name young Striker that will be our talisman for the best part of the next decade, just don't think it will be a priority until we fix other areas in the team. Especially if Hugo does come.

The beauty of the new norm = I couldn't give a shit if someone turns us down or goes elsewhere. We will get someone just as good.* *Disclaimer: Reserves the right to kneejerk If we are sat not signed anyone amazing in September. -

Sounds like this is in exactly the same place as it was in January. Bid accepted, looks a goer and now hesitancy from the players agents/camp. Maybe just a last minute wait to see if someone bigger comes in last minute? I can't believe we would have gone back if there was no interest in coming though so hopefully he is over for a medical tomorrow or over the weekend. -
Fofana and Paqueta is the dream. We definitely need a bit more steel at the back of the midfield and Fofana can play in multiple roles in the centre. Also really need a number 10. Its possible Howe could try ASM in the 10 free role. I would sure like to see Miggy given the chance with better players around him too. I think both won't be the priority, but neither will be signing as many of 8-10 players this window to facilitate the overhaul we dream of!

Lascelles is fine as the 4th/5th CB. I feel he just didn't take the pressure role the past year and regressed from pushing at the England door under Rafa, monitoring or preparing a bid for knocking on the England door maybe. Losing the captaincy might be good for him. We could however get some sort of money for him this window before he becomes like Clark, Fernandez, Gayle etc. that won't fetch much more than a penny or two. I don't see us signing more than one CB this window and if Howe does want to play 3 at the back we will need him. Would prefer him to Dummett and Fernandez (who is now another year older and over half a season out of match fitness). Ideally we bring in two CB's this window or one now and one in January. There are too many other positions needing attention though imo.

Quite a few have been pushing the Rabiot to toon links. Not convinced we are after him. Maybe driving up the asking price for Chelsea? Rabiot seems to have a ton of detractors online, especially France supporters? I really don't know enough about him to know if he would be a good get for us or not
