The Saudi's have literally hired Alan Sugar for the purposes of the Amazon documentary to come up and fire people on camera.
-
Except for the 2 we did. But otherwise I agree, it's hugely frustrating on the CB and CM front.
-
Still time to get him registered but absolutely no way he is in to start vs Leeds. Outside bet he could make the bench if we make a breakthrough tonight or early tomorrow morning. This is going right through the weekend imo.
-
While 90% of the paper talk and rumours are fiction, there is no doubt we have struggled immensely and would have hoped to have had most of the business already done. Not even half way there yet! Plenty more torture and rejection to come!
-
Simple as paying more for the loan or better buying him and inserting a relegation clause. He might be set on West Ham in the summer regardless but if we stay up I can't see him wanting to move on, surely? Manure want money which is fine, he doesn't want to commit, they don't want to sell him to West Ham. If he is willing to come here in the short term, surely we can work it out.
-
Lol They want a straight sale. Fair enough. That said it could also be we just offer more for the loan fee. Either way, no surprise it's not straight forward and will drag out for a week or two.

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12520069/newcastle-are-competing-with-another-premier-league-club-to-secure-signing-of-diego-carlos To follow up. PL side and Italian club.

Don't think this is new news but SSN saying we are deep in talks with Atalanta for Zapata, they rejected a loan with option to buy approach from us but we are working on a permanent sale which they prefer. Think Zapata would be immense.
-
Unlikely we have any players in for leeds then.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10416521/Newcastle-United-talks-Bayer-Leverkusen-left-Mitchel-Bakker.html After all my hyperbole Sure Tagliafico would be a better option and cheaper? Interesting though. Maybe he sees dummett as our LCB lol Mitchel has also played there! Decent write up here. https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/mitchel-bakker-who-is-bayer-leverkusen-s-dutch-left-back-signed-from-psg-16537

Howe has just spoken in glowing terms about dummett and hinting giving him a new contract. Lewis is back training, manquillo looked fine at LB and trippier could cover there. It's not like in a perfect world we couldn't also get an upgrade LB but I can't see us prioritizing it over CBs, CM and another striker. It is the one position out of those that I think we could struggle by with what we have got. The others we can't.
-
Quite possible LB is the lowest priority with CB's, CM and another Striker being the priority. Could be Gosens is the long term target too. At that price deals for Tagliafico, Ginter and a bunch more with contracts coming up seems like a no brainer! Makes you wonder why more teams aren't bidding though.
-
Isn't he one of ASM's heroes? Would be mint to have him back just for kicks. Got 25 games last season but hasn't kicked a ball sing the 2nd of May last year lol. Might get match fit enough for us to use him by March!
-
As long as no-one is Saville about it, everything is cool.
-
Absolute no brainer, would allow Carlos to play on the left as he has at Sevilla. Might be wanting for a bit of speed but is adaptable, plays in a 3 or 4, RB and has played DM.
-
Clearly getting both Nunez and Zapata. The plan is clear we only bought Wood to take him away from Burnley and bench him. Nico Schlotterbeck back on?
-
Just feel the constant press pressure, now player pressure is only going to piss Sevilla off. They don't need to sell, or want to by the sounds of it. Not the first time a players has tried to force a move and wouldn't be the first time they are told to buckle down and forget about it. No team wants a player that doesn't want to be there but he will only leave on their terms. I'd be livid if I was Sevilla or a Sevilla fan right now. Fair play to them if they are honourable and let him go now but I can see this going over the weekend at least.
-
Atta boy. Guess we are paying him his loyalty bonus back! Hope things move faster now but could see Sevilla dragging things out more.
-
It's constant, relentless smaller FFS's if you stick around VS one big "Your'e Fucking Joking..STILL.." followed by kicking something and crying. If I wasn't so addicted to the misery this club doles out I would pick the latter.

Leeds United vs. Newcastle United: 22/01/2022 @ 3pm (No UK TV)
toontownman replied to LRD's topic in Football
To think there was a time when we looked forward to potentially beating anyone. Then it was expecting the worst. Then expecting a slaughter from the top 5. Now it's expecting a slaughter from fucking Leeds. Hoping to jam or scrap a result. It's OK though because I think we will play the more beatable teams soon. Then I realise we at the stage where practically every team is better and every game is expecting a slaughter. We do even expect us to best the few teams that are beatable. I feel like, wake me up in two years but the journey will make the eventual ascent that much sweeter and It's part of why we love the game whilst hating it at the same time. The rise is coming. Keep the faith! These years will feel strange and foreign in those to come! -
It's not the first. Reckon he will get a way with a fair bit to start. It's the ones that come after. He will get zero chance with the press who will look for him to fail, fans will follow the press. We got Woodgate!! We got Colo! We got Bramble. We got Boumsong We got to sell him.
-
We got four CBs we can give them to replace him.
-
There has been encouragement on the deal from salt n pepa too.
-
Lampard will jump at the job, probably would do enough to keep them up. Would be rubbish in the long term likely though. Rooney/Big Dunc. combo coming up. It is about time Fonseca throws his hat into the ring isn't it?
-
Didn't their president completely rule out Gosens going anywhere? CB, CM and another striker have to be the priority, preferably two CB's and CM's. I think we will survive with Lewis coming back from injury, Dummett, and Manquillo for cover at LB.
