A lot of conjecture but wouldn't be surprised if we tried something different with him. A DM he is not though imo. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/radical-joelinton-solution-eddie-howe-22109767

Could have sat and watched 3 hours of that! Ritchie and Longstaff clearly buzzing. Keeping Fraser out of shots because he told Scotland he was injured lol
-
Not injured then. Just some sucking up from the "wee man".

That all depends on the opponents and type of game imo. If it opens up and there is space and time Shelvey can be an asset. If we have enough of an offensive threat that can make the opposition defend maybe we can open up some of that space. Brighton tired badly in the second half, which is where Shelvey started to remember what he was capable of. If he does nothing the rest of the game and mince around creating more work and space for those around him to have to cover then he isn't worth it. The likes of Longstaff, Almiron and Hayden haven't had a chance because they are covering some much ground for Jonjo. He can up his game though. There was a great period under Rafa where it looked like he could start back on the journey to fulfilling his potential. Workrate was high, lots of tackling and dangerous in possession. It just never lasted though. I expect something similar, so wouldn't be surprised if he gets time on the pitch under Howe. At least until January, if not the summer.
-
Will pull his finger out like he normally does and did under Rafa. Doubt we have seen the last of him yet. Will be back to not arsed by the summer and hopefully out then.
-
Perfect. Just when I start work. No work getting done tomorrow either then
-
Rafa rated him as someone he could mould into a top player, he just said it was a hard no at the price. Like most of the rest of the promise, Lewis/Longstaffs.. might just be too far gone.
-
Will be a bath of baked beans in January imo. Getting the players with the right attitude for the fight will be more important than the Ramsey/Hazard type links who could stink up the dressing room Howe is trying to create. Should be interesting to see where we can go!
-
Shelvey will outlast them all. Will be playing well into his 40's with the lack of wear and tear and how he has protected his body in games ?
-
Sule would be a massive statement of intent, literally. Feel he might be in the leverage camp to get a better deal at this club. Probably zero actual interest in coming here, despite lots of noise in the press the past few weeks. Kamara seems a no brainer but could definitely see Howe going for players just with premiership experience in Jan like Lerma instead. Probably makes sense. Ake on loan, or Tarkowski seem likely imo. Can't see us signing anyone pre contract when we will likely be in a relegation battle.

One more hit for those getting tremors and sweats awaiting the inevitable NUFCtv interviews tomorrow.. Howe on mental health in football and his career as a player/manager. Good watch.

So bloody excited for him to work with our players. While the majority of our squad is likely an absolute write off can't wait to see if Howe and his team can actually turn some of our players around. Joelinton - Can Howe find the right role or get the best from him? Hendrick - How can he have been courted by AC Milan and Manure before we signed him lol. Can't believe there is anything there. (still rather not see him again, except leaving in January to another club) Longstaffs - Too far gone? never actually that good? or redeemable? Interested to see if Howe can turn them around. Lewis - Poor sod came to us with a world of potential, then got bruce'd. Huge worry he hasn't any really meaningful minutes, even off the bench. He must be completely broken. Fraser - What a player he was a Bournemouth, hope the wee man can stay fit and find that kind of form again. Almiron - So much potential we haven't seen and wouldn't think possible from watching him at the weekend. Its there though. Lascelles - Went from absolute leader touted for an England call up to almost a liability. I expect we will see the usual Shelvey getting his shit together and trying for a bit like he did under Rafa, it ultimately won't last long though. I think Hayden and Willock will benefit massively from Howe too, the both have the technical skills and education from Arsenal, with the right instructions and training I think they will be huge. Will be interesting to see if Schar and Fernandez come in from the cold or not.

Think there has been a ton about Rangnick posted already elsewhere, couldn't find much for Henrique in terms of videos. Here are some of the others linked (minus Overmars as that seems unlikely now) Michael Edwards (was at Portsmouth at the same time as Howe which might explain the link up last week and in the past) Also he has reportedly said he is leaving at the end of the season/his contract - linked to Real Madrid Paul Mitchell Luis Campos Couple of years old but has a few or our linked names but not all We will end up with Jason Wilcox after all that Hope Wilcox was interviewed for Academy Director.
-
More Ramsey links with Juve looking to cancel his contract. Seems like a red flag signing injury wise to me.
-
Just teasing. I wouldn't bother watching that 18minute one though. Essentially saying Conte and Mourinhos returns didn't work because they wanted their own players and were too big personalities that left emenalo feeling his work was useless and created lots of friction. Crazy how many fans were celebrating his departure like it was Steve Bruce though.
-
ASM will be spinning the wheel alot I think.
-
Emenalo is the sexy choice but my Liverpool mates always rave about Edwards and the transfer team there. They were in for Lewis aand rated him to develop but Norwich priced him too high. Got Tsimi instead who is now arguably their best LB. Either seem great. Campos/rangnick or Henrique too. Hope it's sorted over the next week or so. Would be another big boost.

Can see some permanent signings but whomever comes will likely have a relegation release clause. Being cut adrift vs being out of the relegation zone or a point or two away will make a massive difference. It's going to be a fascinating, gut wrenching, nervous, likely frustrating but exciting time. Oh to feel something for the club again. It's slowly coming back!
-
Such faith. He will be crocked again!
-
Players have today and tmrw off according to Jones. They will announce Howe tmrw. Will start with the players Tuesday imo.
-
...Everton to the Championship.

Favre or Fonseca have got to go somewhere right? Doubt nuno will go straight back in but you never know. Could definitely see him at Southampton if villa went for the Hass. Fair few options out there.
