  1. I thought they were sneaking into playoffs on PPG. Most excellent. Looks like the majority of clubs will vote leaving them in league one again.
  2. The most unacceptable part of this wait for approval is the almost certain confirmation of Bruce as manager until season end. That is almost as damaging as the ownership test being failed. A few weeks back I was confident they could and should just dump him but now even if it goes through tomorrow it is likely too late to change.
  3. Such an exhausting process. Still dont see anything new other than PR propaganda from the PL. Considering considering considering.. the longer we draw it out the more care we have taken.. sorry we tried. Any kind or shit they are perceived to be getting to block the deal pails in comparison to what will come of they do.
  4. That’s how I remember it - looked no better than Manquillo or Yedlin or Krafth as right wing back, but was quite sharp when pushed further forward. He is a winger that has played at fullback so thats not a surprise. He definitely showed some flashes of great technique and a soccer IQ in his appearances but was by no means mind blowing. Glad we are keeping him on though.
  5. It's getting about more than just fans unrest. No way we lose Matty had this already gone through. Players are in limbo and there is uncertainty with players and coaches. It will likely be an excuse for terrible performances coming up.
  6. Always thought it would take a miracle to get him here.
  7. Be absolutely gutted to see this go through. Hope he waits it out until the takeover is done. Can't blame him for sorting himself out first. Like we couldn't do better the 15k. What an absolute disaster our club is. You would think Mike would give him a new 30k contract and then sell him for millions.
  8. They are delaying until they break our celebratory reactions to this going through.
  9. He would be stretchered off after 5 mins. No way he has the cardio for officiating lol. You’d assume we wouldn’t be allowed to play these smaller lower league teams that don’t qualify for testing... Isn't another way we can play a friendly under that 90 minute drive restriction. I assume Middlesborough would work though?
  10. Friendlies to prep for season return allowed, but only with clubs within 90 minute drive. North East Derbies it is then. Oh coaches have to referee too. Love to see Newcastle vs Sunderland with Bruces refereeing.
  11. Zinedine escaped, Messi looks likely to as well. Who else through the premiership years got away that you would have liked to have seen play their trade in the PL. *As per Mikes Kind request: Not only who, but where would they have been the best fit?* I remember Batistuta getting linked back in the day. Would have loved him. Likewise Matthäus.
  12. Of all the days of the week, that is most certainly one of them.
  13. Still exactly the same imo. The longer they wait the more thorough the PL looks and the less people will care when its announced. Is it agonizing, frustrating, infuriating? It is, but if the the buyers side arent worried I am not. The only people worried are those the press have led on a merry dance to sell papers and cause controversy. If I hear people like George Caulkin being worried then I will get the sphincter jiggles. It's just a case of sit tight and get on with it.
  14. Because of the backlash and possible legaL threats they will face. I don't think they give the slightest fuck about 'backlash' to be honest. To them, the league is a commodity to be sold, a substantial investment in that outweighs everything. They've proven that on multiple occasions. Possible legal threats they will face? They will face worse if they turn it down imo.
  15. Nah PL want this likely more than anyone. The money its brings, more open doors for TV Deals and exposure they won't want to turn it away even if they don't like the moral issues.
  16. Do people against the deal just expect the PL to wait week by week for new information to be uncovered that can be presented to them. I don't get it. They do their own background checks they don't put it out there for anyone to throw their 2 cents in. If there is nothing to stop it they can't just tell the prospective owners "just wait another week or month. We want to see if something new pops up". Is it not simply based on facts of the time of the application? Thats like Norwich requesting the league wait and let them play another couple of games to see if they can win a couple of friendlies and count that towards survival. All kinds of legal problems if the string it out in the hopes of something new popping up. There has to be a window of common sense and legality.
  17. But it's been signed off unofficially. It is a story for the grand kids. "Let me tell you a story..There was a time long ago, unprecedented, where your grandpa had to stay at home for nearly three months, isolated, alone with just the computer for company. I lost much" "The lockdown period, grandpa? we learned about that at.." "Lockdown, what lockdown? It was the great Newcastle Takeover lad. I never left the computer. See this draw, went through a pile of F5 keys. Don't know anything about a lockdown."
  18. Definite quandary for me. I love Rafa and I feel like a cheating lover but I can't help but lust after the type of football we would get under Poch. I think he would inspire and unite the fanbase again possibly even more than Rafa, which feels weird to say. On the flip side I see this as Rafa's swansong rather than Poch's stepping stone to Madrid or elsewhere. Rafa knows the club, area and is a dreamboat. It's unfinished business in this league, the title he doesn't have and you know he will do everything for our club. Either way, what a position we could potentially be in to consider either and managers of this pedigree.
  19. Alphonso Davies. He wont leave Bayern yet but that would be an amazing move. He is incredible and would absolutely fit Newcastle like a glove.
  20. Absolutely no point keeping Bruce for any amount of time. Prolonging just means slower progress with the new manager. As much as people could argue they might upset few Bruce supporters by binning him they would upset a shit load more fans if they dont. They don't need to pander to the press or crusty pros. Its business if they want a successful club Bruce should have no part in it as a manager or anything around that.
