It's surely going to be Graham Potter?

Not saying our ownership want rid of Howe. I don't think they do. I just think there is less chance of Eddie wanting to take the job right now (I think he will want to stay) than the club seeing the likely sizeable compensation figures and thinking it's maybe an opportunity to make money and bring in a "next level manager" and encourage him to leave.

Unreal Sitting deep? What could go wrong. Revert to type. -
I'm less worried about Eddie wanting to take the England job right now as I am our ownership potentially pushing him out to hire an "upgrade"
-
Another chance to put him on now at this break. Nah. 88th it is! Edit: my bad. Obviously why bother putting Gordon on

Thinking you are giving his football intelligence and tactical awareness level too much credit. -

What a nuts 24 hours. Anderson and Minteh better both agree personal terms and pass the medicals lol Still expect us to shift Wilson, Targett, Dubs and possibly Almiron and trippier in the coming weeks. Going to be a busy summer. -
Still got a day to go! Elanga might still be on his way.

Damn. This escalated quickly. Have to say I'm definitely a bit sad for him. As most others have said, it hasn't looked like he has quite got "it" at this point of his career. With a few other youngsters looking like coming through and being signed to the axademy, I guess this is one hit we have to take. We look a bit screwed for European home grown though if we qualify next year. We have 3 right now, right? (Gillespie, Miley, Longstaff). Don't think there is anyone else eligible for that that realistically will be ready to contribute. Guess it's only one squad spot we would lose and I'm sure someone in the reserves could fill it. -
We can't score but fuck it, we are through. The goals have to come eventually right?

This season: Games Goals Assists Minutes Anthony 38 3 2 1910 Elanga 39 5 9 2678 Sancho 24 3 3 1593 Not sure what the XG for each of the teams were. Sizeable difference in total minutes with Elanga but he was easily in the weakest team. More on topic, I didn't watch much of Elanga other than him tearing us apart. Who knows what Howe could do with him. He seemingly can cover up top though which is an asset.

Expect he is off tbh. He has been included in at least 2 deals this week, that we know of. We apparently still need to offload someone else. Wilson is a likely departure but it's hard to stick around when you are clearly deemed surplus. -

The minute he leaves I'm firmly with all those Feyernoord fans that said he flatters to deceive and will never make it at the top level! -

Ultimately this isn't anything we didn't half expect. It just stings right now as I think we were hopeful we would have found loopholes or ways around PSR already. We knew the ghost of Ashley and co. Would haunt us for another few years. I think we are surely around our worst and hopefully it should get better each year (touch wood). We are taking losses for each year we can't shift any of the Bruce era dross and are still 2 to 3 years away from anyone really coming through the youth system. Minteh sucks but it's certainly better than the likes of isak, Bruno and Gordon. We should be happy the Miley to Barcelona rumours haven't come back to surface! -

Ah. I thought it was a rolling 3 year period so come July first we write off the first year expenditure and this 30m income looks good for next year. I can't keep up. Need a morons guide to PSR. Should be out there as the opinion seems to be that it was written by morons. -

Seems a crazy outlay. Actually a bit shocked clubs are bidding over 30m. Huge gamble. Guess we shall see next year how good or bad a decision it was. I'm imagining while he might be half decent, that money will enable us to bring in someone at least as good. Not sure that is Elanga but it might be good money balling. -

Both right? Until the PL are pressured to find a different way to penalize us lol -
Time I turned oft the phone off lol -Gordon potentially off. - More Rattcliffe comments talking about the top 6 cartel and how everyone should bow. - Selling another homegrown so we are stunted even if we do get into Europe next season. We don't have anyone in the academy eligible for next year that's ready to step up do we? Not excited about Elanga. Counts as a domestic though at least!

Will be absolutely defeated if this happens. Proper Andy Cole moment and demand Eddie appears on the steps! More annoying one of my scouse supporting mates told me this was happening a month ago and I said it was pretty unlikely. Be just as annoyed if he is right lol

This whole situation is wild. It's like the Hall transfer. Some high level games going on behind the scenes surely. I'm cool with Brighton (buy back clause included). Abroad is better but Brighton is fine. Could just be hot air to drive up an Everton bid though. -
That's what should happen. I understand him not wanting to do that though. He still wants to be a starter every week and push for the England squad. I think that time has passed though.
-
That's probably bring generous at 2 😆 Either way, the amount of talent that would be purchase would be a gamechanger like it was for Liverpool and to a lesser extent Villa and spuds.
