  1. You know the PL will be pushed to give us a higher points penalty for "deliberately doing it". Honestly if it's 3 points it's better to break it and bring in two quality players that will get us near 10 times that over the course of the season. Stupid system. They can't get mad at clubs working around it.
  2. What's with this new discourse I keep seeing on Twitter (like below) that Chelsea are alongside clubs like Villa, Everton and Newcastle and getting punished by the cartel?? Reminds me of this.
  3. That's a shame. He was definitely a positive addition but adding a more experienced coach or two with a resume coaching at the top flight is probably also needed at this point. It's a still a big adventure for Becky and most of the players but it's getting real now. They need supports and experience around them to help them survive and thrive.
  4. That's what the weight being lifted from the clause expiring will do.
  5. Going to be amazing when we celebrate passing the release clause, just to sell him for 30m more to man city tomorrow.
  6. "I'm hearing we have some news coming from SJP. Make sure you stick around after this advert break, and the next 15, to hear from Keith. Newcastle fans you are not going to want to miss this."
  7. FTM hitman with a hitlist of all N-O members. Charley returns for a visit and accidently starts a fire at SJP Plausible. Both are plausible.
  8. I'm still throwing my toys out the pram we aren't in for Jonathan David when he is available between 20-30m. In fairness he might not be interested with all the CL club interest. Eddie would take his game to the next level though we he would be the perfect Wilson upgrade.
  9. Absolutely has to be a buy back clause! I'm all for selling him to dortmund or Lyon if that is in there. Smart business.
  10. Are sky doing a minute by minute countdown and sending reporters out to each of the big clubs to drive up interest?
  11. I take it there are much higher levels of complexity getting youth deals done. These always seems to take 6 to 8 months to complete after first announced by a journalist we have won the race to sign them.
  12. We need 3 strikers in the squad. Doesn't look like we have any coming through the youth system (makes me wonder why we didn't prioritize that more so far) Pretty sure Wilson will be off if DCL comes in, neither will want regualar bench time. I think we will then look to sign a young striker with higher potential than DCL that will be happier in the first year being eased in. I'm not against that with Wilson going, as much as I love Callum.
  13. What an absolutely mad hire. One job in football and he got a half decent team relegated. I guess at least he won't have the albatross of having a half decent team to take down this time.
  14. I trust the club. Dissapointed not to even see him in black and white though. Hopefully we have a buy back clause and we are selling to a club outside the Prem.
  15. The closest to a flop for sure. He cost very little though.
  16. Seems a bit of a weird one. Like we picked up fifa and are playing manager mode, cutting deals to do what you can with a meager budget. We are definitely exploring all avenues. Cut price deals for a DCL and maybe somewhere else could enable us to buy someone like Nico or a big time RW and Gibbs white
  17. If the fee is 20m or under its more acceptable. Talk of Everton wanting 35m. Absolutely not. Must be 15-20 better options once you get past 20m. Like Kelly his injury history is a real concern. Maybe we should get that guy at Forest. He scored twice as many and played less games! At the end of the day I trust Eddie and co. Was just hoping for better for a Wilson upgrade.
  18. That's a nice chunk of change to reinvest though if Dougie uses it well. They will be fine.
  19. "We are all out of hotels!" "Unleash and sell our fleet of Chelsea blue Bugatti's, Lamborghini's and Ferrari's."
  20. Seems a little wild. Argentina could have scored more but Canada arguably should have had two penalties and missed 4 or 5 great chances. Could have easily been 5-5. Canada not being clinical cost them more than being open. It was a weird match. Must have been hot and the pitch was wide. Lots of the game was very slow. Argentina deserved the win but thought Canada played well, just missed the cutting edge when it mattered and tired towards the end to let Argentina take advantage.
  21. I'm expecting we get a real marquee signing or two this summer. Dropping down a league for a year (although I can't see us getting promoted again) isn't the worst sell for the long term project. Should be an interesting summer reshaping the squad.
