Probably a lot more than we'll do with the other £24m Nah that's a weeks worth of using the money as toilet paper for Ashley.
-
I've thought that for a number of years. It's a seriously interesting point. The Jarrow march? Where did all the bottle go? My grandfather worked down the mines. My great uncles fought and died in the great war. It seems we're a group of 'Geordie Shore' babes and impotent men. Or am I being cruel?? No, you're quite right. But to be honest, the vast majority of people in this country have always bent over and took what ever the ruling class decide to shaft them with; that's why we've never had a revolution. The Jarrow March, Glasgow and Liverpool (and some other areas, but not many) are exceptions. I'm genuinely shocked at the amount of brownbeaten, weak, softcockery going on with the club's supporters at the moment. I've never experienced a group of weaker men. ..and women. Get with the times and get your marigolds on.

Charnely the only board member and no first team staff what a club Its fucking criminal to think we dont have a board of directors no one nada just fucking thumbhead. 1 senior executive I mean really the entirety of our board of directors earns 115k Fucking non league shit that man It's working for Ashley though. All about the £££££

The new head coach was only going to be allowed one other coaching staff to work with so won't take that long to put the coaching team together.

The modern day habib beye. Don't blame him in the slightest.
-
If it was that, whats the delay in releasing the statement? What would be the delay if they knew the deal was on or off? Seems like they have been pressured into saying something and are waiting for some suitable info to share? Could just also have a charnley of their own that is lax in doing things.

Nah. "Humbled by the support, still committed and doing everything they can, other factors at play but still hopeful"
-
Coming into his last year of contract too.

Can see that. I thought he was abysmal at Everton. Spent a ton of money and never got anywhere. Was more McLaren than Pardew I'd say but he certainly was defiant at the end when he had to go which was reminiscent of Pardew hanging on. I remember thinking we avoided the Martinez bullet at the time as he was linked to us prior to Everton. Where he had most success he followed inferior coaches with neutral styles in Kenny jackett and Steve Bruce. He struggled with switching Everton from a fiercely drilled defensive side to the opposite and would have a similar problem here imo. Difference is while Everton fans worshipped moyes they also had no issue with the style. If there was any element of Rafa's philosophy that could possibly grate on Newcastle fans it was the forced marriage of pragmatic and a sensible approach to tactics to the longing mentality of an all out free flowing attacking style many fans crave. Martinez would be seen as the latter but would likely soon find out, like rafa, you can't play that way with the players we have and be consistently successful. It's arguably a glass half full/empty and case of mentality if you have or can make confident players.

This Hear hear. Always did his best and loved the club and fans. Can't blame anyone for wanting out. Almiron must be fucking fuming he moved here, albeit with a huge grin still on his face

Easy. There's bloody saxophones in that lad.

Is it really that unexpected? It has been widely reported that Pérez had itchy feet and we all know Ashley’s love for making a few Bob regardless of the consequences. Wasn’t one of the main sticking points for Rafa that he wasn’t given enough control over transfers? If that’s the case then this is exactly what was expected: f*** whichever desperate dupe they appoint, he’ll be given what to work with and told to get on with it (see “Pardue). As for the takeover, not sure anyone would sit back and see the value of the club diminish after already having agreed a price. He’s just getting on with things isn’t he...I’d be amazed if a deal goes through now. This just looks like every other close season / transfer window now, only worse I know it's easy to say "but it's Ashley, it doesn't have to make sense" but to leave your squad with 1 actual striker (Joselu is not a striker) is beyond crazy, it just makes no sense on any level. My guess is he's looking to buy big in the hope it appeases us on some level - those Joelinton rumours make more sense with this sale. It does, in the sense the morons think we could swap out one with the other. The chances of Joelinton or any one else actually being interested in coming here now is the problem. Let's say there are players still wanting to come here, whixh of course there are. They're only likely to be not good enough or in it for the money leeches we have seen before.

Yeah. I'm done with this happening. At least before season start. Ashley can still make money out of us in the championship. He is fine with flirting with that possibility combined with a gambling chance of staying up and coining it in. We are his roulette wheel. Bet on black or white it's a winner to Ashley.
-
Who the hell will we have left after everyone that's moving gets sold? Woodman Yedlin Clarke Dummet Lazaar Ritchie Ki Colback Almiron* Shelvey Joselu *catch him while you can Just make it quick and painless.

Fair play to England and the state's. Really close. The state's begrudgingly have the extra class and experience. From watching the last world cup this is a different England team. Our defence is our worst enemy. If we can improve there in the next cycle we can beat anyone.
-
Right call on VAR unfortunately. Two cynical yellows not given since. Again, embarrassed I obviously haven't seen enough of the women's game in the last few years other than major tournaments. The quality of play is really impressive. The pace is unbelievable. Can't stand the state's but credit they are hugely talented.
-
Ah that's why they are holding out for 90 for Maguire. Have to fund the 100m bid for Ayoze. In reality. A Benitez esque surprise move. Can surely do better. Guess he likely doesn't have a choice it the bid is accepted. Ashley asset stripping as quick as he can.
-
Wise as DoF and JFK as manager. Don't rule it out. Pretty sure Avram grant is coming in as dof if Ashley stays.
-
To be fair the tweet say next few days. So likely Friday. The local rags said maybe tmrw but since when have they known anything. I fully expect the statement to just be a simple. "We are still interested things are progressing, we are hopeful."
-
No way, he is a footballer, we need assets Too true. We will probably sign bas dost over Rondon despite the former being 4 months older.
-
I think so too. He also hasn't ruled it out. He did mention his next job would be a project but at a club with ambition that matched his. Doesn't fit currently. Might with new ownership. Still a tough ask coming in after rafa adoration wise. It could really backfire and we know he wouldn't take any rejection well. His link to bobby would pull him through any objections. Under any normal circumstances we would be over the moon at the proposition.
-
So sad in every sense of the word.
-
Can bet we will sign Sturridge as a gesture signing. He will end up playing 6 games and crocked the rest.
-
Whole lot happier him being abroad managing. When he is back in the premiership that will really hurt like hell.
-
Depends if new DOF Avram wants him.
