Not that we'll be that great, but Barca don't have a "target" man do they really? As long as the team is fluid enough (and I think Ba can run/has good movement) then the team can still function at a very high level. I was thinking more along the lines that we were intending to play 4-3-3/4-5-1 he surely has the ability to hold up the back and knock it on, but I think he looks more suited to the left or right of a 4-3-3 or as a second striker in a 4-4-2. Barfa, Obertan and Marveaux look like better bets in that kind of role.

Capable of up to 8th if we get lucky and players hit form. If we get lucky and find ourselves in the top half come January we have a get out of jail free card with the window that could allow us to push on and maybe push for Europe. It would require luck and investment though and the latter is likely to be limited if we overachieve (on the basis we are doing well enough without needing extra players). Think we will limp through to January, buy a couple of half decent players and manage a finish somewhere from 11th-15th.

Would be perfect imo. The few here that might have begrudged him leaving are long gone. Would be perfect for LB cover and 3/4th choice CB. However we apparently already turned down the chance to sign him earlier in the summer.

Sure I'm not the first to say this..but while I am truly delighted and believe we have pulled off a potentially huge coup I am disappointed he looks to be our Enrique replacement. For one I can't see him starting for us for a while, maybe I am wrong and he is physically and mentally ready, but for someone that already has a delicate confidence we will surely ease him in. Great signing for the future but I don't know if he is a ready made replacement for Enrique. Literally I don't know that much about him, so feel free to fill me in if I am wrong. In addition to another more experienced LB I would be happier. Fine work again from our team on the price though. Fantastic gamble if it pays off.

Who did they sign? Prefer Cisse tbh, infact potential wise I would prefer Roux. Dont think the time thing is a great issue. The players can undergo the medicals outside newcastle if they need.
