FA Cup 4th Round: Brighton (a) - 28/01/12 @ 5.15pm (live on ESPN)

Tough one, I spent most of my youth growing up 45 mins from Brighton, but my brother is a huge Wrexham fan. Life not worth living if they knocked us out. -
someone will walk in front of the camera when Ben Arfa gets the ball getting out of the way just after the ball bounces out of the net..
-
Spaff in pants stuff that, be very happy. Really rate Clyne. Would be a blessing for Simpson too, competition could actually see him pull his finger out and try and improve his game instead of stagnating like he has done the past two years.
-
The guy is a hero. Wish he had scored today though. Had a rocky spell before his injury, but in general he is one of the best readers of play we have had at the back, his pace obviously lets him down but he is generally a great calming influence at the back and strong in the air. Great to have him back in the team.

highly likely we have a release clause with Ba tbh. More likely that it is if his knee explodes we can release him though. Saggy face can fuck off and rot in jail the corrupt cunt.
-
Surprised by the comments tbh, thought he did ok, granted he offers nowt going forward but he and Jonas basically acting as wingbacks in front of Simpson and Santon were another part of the gameplan that won it for us imo. Nullified any wing play all game. Don't think he was really there to attack. Gave the ball a way a little but was ten times more solid than Obertan, hence 100% the right decision to play him there.

Liked his pumping up the crowd on the touchline. Some classy goal celebrations too. Quick stop and hold camera pose after Ba's then straight back to taking notes like nothing had happened. Fuck knows how he stayed so calm, I would have grabbed Saylor from the crowd and ran down the length of the pitch with him on my back, gump stylee.

Seriously impressed with the lad tonight, looks class on the ball, quicker than Enrique, can see the Left side flourishing again now. That said, still want a decent LB, if not I demand a decent RB.

Fan-bloody-tastic! Fully expect us to get turned over in the second half but 3 points mentally in the bag great performance. I have the Santon man crush and Ba is a legend! -
This. Pretty certain I remember the club explaining why they aren't willing to do loan deals in the past. They cost a bomb now compared to the past, they are really great players available or they are young and no better than what we have. That said, we would be daft to rule it out given we can't find adequete signings in January that fit our criteria and budget. The squad desperatley needs a couple of new faces right now as we have hit the wall and hard. Might well come down to a couple of loans or nothing.. is it really wise to pick nothing and run into an injury crisis? What confuses me most is not the fact that we don't want to look for loan deals, but we refuse to spend 500k-1m and settle for no incomings which in turn costs us 1m or more in premier league position prize money at the end of the year.

Can't say better than this really. I am worried by our creativity though, I think shoring up the defence is needed but I am not convinced we create enough with Cabaye and Tiote, hopefully putting Barfa infront could help fix it but the former two sit back more than they need to sometimes. Think we will end up with one, maybe two defenders. Think we will try to buy someone decent from abroad and end up with with someone from the Championship.

aye, gerrard was bloody good tbf to him Granted he was good, I'm not disputing that, he is a quality player, always has been. We did however give him as much space as he wanted, Tiote and Cabaye should have been all over him as soon as he came on. Instead we never got closer than five yards to him and suprisingly in the time and space we gave him he did what he is most famous for. Is it really brain science? He isnt going to skin many players for pace, why the hell did he have the fucking key to the city of Newcastle? From his and Liverpools perspective he was fantastic, we have to be sitting there asking ourselves why we let that happen, he never created his own space.

Needs to replace Guti for the next game. He wont.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Hilarious tonight, but at least "he got an assist". -
Had an absolute shocker of a season, made worse ever since he signed a contract extension. Granted he has been held back by loosing Enrique behind him, but thats no excuse for the shite he has been trying to disguise as playing football. He is becoming a liability defending now too diving in and dry humping players from behind for no reason. Needs dropping and resting, desperately need to play Barfa out there. Ferguson showed more in his cameos last season that Guti has this year, depressing.

It's not just that, we look a little burnt out, we are playing like morons that can't put passes together, we have lost all motivation to chase the ball and all hunger to attack. We are pedestrian from start to finish and have little clue what to do with the ball in the opponents half of the pitch and less of a clue how to get it there other than hoofing it in the air. Been unlucky with injuries too but we are going to be crippled with Ba and Tiote gone and none of our injured players returning. Even a new defender (realistically just the one, which will be from the Championship) wont help us going forward. We need someone in to pep the players up and something to motivate us going forward. Well, we're in a slump. It's a big test for Pardew. The truth is: we haven't played terribly well this season, but in key areas we've been able to compete: but there's only so far you can push your luck. I'm yet to see any attacking fluidity from us under Pardew, which is surprising as, and I didnt see Southampton, but both West Ham and Charlton we really good flowing attacking sides. I said alot of people initial concerns about him playing long ball football were rubbish, ironically they have become a reality. I dont know if its because he doesnt have the players but its just not clicking and it hasnt yet. Certainly alot to do with our full backs and Wingers.

Sorry aye, it's Krul isn't it. One of those who you can't criticise. He was s**** tonight, and was in the last two games n'all. Who you gonna replace him with? was poor for the 2nd and 3rd Goals and generally had a mare, however so did the complete shit show infront of him, few players should be coming out of that game without a fucking reaming.
-
Only fucking reason he changed the game is because we gave him a ten yard personal space so the mong fucking scousers wouldnt take us to court for sexual harrasment and other acts of atrocities, supported to their divine fucking right. Fuck, Gerrard isnt going to skin anyone for pace Tiote and Cabaye should have shut him down the minute he got on the pitch. Pathetic performance when they were there for the taking.
