Worth Every Penny

Happy Days for Villa fans. Quite the squad they have put together over the past few years. 44m Euros for Zaniolo after the loan though. Interested to see how he does.
-
Only just clued in Kanes move might mean he doesn't surpass Shearers record. Can't believe he wont be in Germany for less that 2 years, possibly 3. Still sits 47 goals behind.
-
If we are still looking for an up and coming CB that won't fill a squad place we might jump on reported long term interest for Edwards: https://www.transfermarkt.us/ronnie-edwards/profil/spieler/732165 Pretty highly rated England U19/U20 CB, played every minute of the u20 World Cup for England. Ashworth known to be an admirer going back a year or so. Lots of over PL also interested including Palace who have had several bids turned down. Lots of noise from the Peteborough high brass talking up clubs like us, Arsenal and Chelsea but likely just trying to smoke out bigger bids from Palace, West Ham or Rangers.
-
With the addition of Hall it looks like we can register and fit everyone we currently have into the PL squad, blacklisted trio of Hendrick/Fraser/Hayden aside. I think CL Livramento/Hall/Murphy don't qualify for the u21 bracket as they need to be at the club more than 2 consecutive seasons so we will have to get a bit more creative, likely dropping at least one if not two keepers and maybe Ritchie out of the CL squad. We can emergency call GK up if they have long term injuries. We certainly still have room to sign a CB and RW if we wanted, keeping two of Gillespie/Dummett/Ritchie out or moving Manquillo on.
-
We are really not that far off the 90s for Geordies in the team, if you count newcastle fans too. SJH will be proud! Gillespie, Burn, Dummett, Hall, Longstaff, Miley, Andersen, Murphy
-
He is however Sir John's grandsons, cousins, boyfriends, neighbors former roommate though.
-
Dissapointed. Thought we has re-signed him to complete our homegrown quota for CL.
-
Think it gives us more flexibility in negotiations if a RCB or RW/AM becomes attainable. We would likely still want any more incomings on a similar deal but might still have some room to straight purchase if needed. It's ideal for now.
-
Does make you wonder where we go next summer! RCB and RW/AM makes sense. Still think at least one of those could happen this window if Hall is wrapped up this week. Another top draw striker to have Wilson on the bench and maybe another young back up forward. We are alot further forward squad wise than I would have expected. Should also see more youth start coming through in a couple of years.
-
Yep, gives us more flexibility if we are still after another RCB or RW/AM
-
Loan with obligation it isby the sounds of it. Absolute magic from Ashworth.
-
Would be living the Fifa dream. He would be an excellent understudy to Miggy and get lots of playing time. Also gives us an extra option through the middle. Not sure we have the cash to buy him and Hall though. These aren't next level signings for this season but huge potential in the long run.
-
You could say the same at CB with Botman, Schar, Lascelles, Burn, Murphy and Dummett. I think Howe plans to move Burn inside. Murphy likely isn't quite ready and LB is his secondary position like Burn. Dummett hopefully isn't in the PL squad at all. We will need him for the CL though.
-
A few journos keep mentioning we still want an AM. This would be a fantastic fit for what we have bought so far.
-
Seems extremely unlikely but, If we manage to get Hall signed quickly and there are no optimal CB options possible I could see us still trying to get Tierney or Cucerella on loan and shift Targett out.
-
All these moves seem to take a while. Sanusi was said to be signed nearly a month ago with Divine Mukasa and Leo Shahar too. Has Ollie Harrison even officially joined Chelsea yet? Must take longer with paperwork or contracts or possible tribunal at that age? Or maybe just less priority.
-
Until we get a team in SK I have been somewhat neutral. Soft spots for Halifax and Pacific though. Like the Cavs branding and Tommy Wheeldon Jr. too.
-
Does seem Hayden and Fraser have interest at least (Southampton/Celtic). Not a sniff on Hendrick though.

I agree, the CPL owners will likely be the same as the MLS when push comes to shove. A CPL1 and 2 wouldn't effect the gate massively though imo. I can't see local fans being less inclined to go if they are in CPL2. If ownership groups are in for CPL then CPL2 wouldn't make a huge difference in planning they would have to fly similar distances. It's a long time til that could happen anyway. Looks like there should be almost coast to coast L1 (D3) in Canada as soon as next year, the year after if not. Will take 4/5 years at least to settle and grow, likely 8-10 to grow and expand up into a east/west D2 for teams wanting a bigger challenge or testing the waters to try to transition into a CPL team. The CPL should be in a place by then to be near 16 teams. Probably talking another 5-10 before even considering a CPL2. That D2 league would basically be CPL2. Also possible the whole lot collapses before then ? I do think everything is on a good path though. CPL2 might not ever happen but I think the rest of this pyramid will happen. Likewise for the women with the project8 league instead of CPL in that system. CPL (CPL2) Championship (East/West/Central) L1 (BC, AB, Prairies, Ontario, Quebec, Maritimes)

Our loans in January are going to be mint.
-
Likely to have that pace we need then..

Hall is the way to go if we can get him. Would love that. Really any of the 3 would be fine. Cucurella was immense at Brighton. I found a bunch of stats a few weeks ago when we were linked that put him something like the best LB in the league stats wise. I totally trust Howe to turn him around if he ended up here.
