  1. Hard to call if the take over drags on. But should it go ahead and the figures predicted be given to big sam as a Gold Card, top six or there abouts should be a reasonable expectation. You have to bear in mind the other clubs that have been given huge financial backing, who will also be aiming for at least the same. Id hope for top six at least, but depeding on circumstance and structural developement of the club 8th downwards would be ok.. either way, we need to keep with Allardyce and give him a few seasons to impliment what he needs to.
  2. You know the stiker he thats so impressive he cant remember? really though rob hulse has done well. but personally as much as Ameobi is berated, Id probably still prefer him over alot of the trendy tat being floated around at them moment. He does good enough as a back up striker for me.
  3. I dont think anyone would be talking about paul scholes aged 38. He will do well with Manure for a couple of seasons, maybe good with a few other top sides with big squads if he can adjust. I think he will struggle away from Manure though much like Butt or the majority of other players that have left them. To be fair, why in the hell would he want to leave them?
  4. Would rather take Nolan , Barton or even Reo-coker. If Scholes leaves Manure it will only be a downward step, he has a few seasons left in him, fine, but like Butt he will have the "Manure Effect" for a good while after he leave. IMO, he wont get over the leaving manure syndrome for half the time he has left as a premiership footballer, and thats being optimistic. This season 3 years on is the time its taken Butt plug to work it out, If under the strangest circumstance he did end up at the mackems, he wont be their saviour.
  5. All but signed for Everton. would take him here for £4m or less here without a doubt. Great squad player.

    David Rozehnal

Agent using us to get him a better deal at Dortmund? Was a target for Roeder, was sa target for Allardyce = Has to be a target for Newcastle. Not saying he isnt, but looks more like an agent ploy to me. He plays at CB or as a DM. Wouldnt be a bad squad filler, but not inspiring.
  7. The spurs rejection effect is in full swing again. http://www.spurs.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=67802
  8. Tuncay said if Feners won the league in the anniversary year of the club, he would consider his job at the club done, and would consider moving on. He is to Fenerbache what Shearer was to us. He is passion personified, great player all round and very versatile. Would be ecstatic if we bought him, would be a possibility as he is friends with Emre and has talked about coming to the UK before. I would still be very suprised if we did end up going in for him though.
  9. No one is going to spend £9m on someone thats been consistently injured the past two years, certainly not the top four clubs in the country. He is staying here til at least January until he has proven he has: a) got over his injuries b) shown he is still the player he once was, or could be.
  10. Great start to the summer if true, been quite open to us signing him for a long time, instant improvement on Sibbers and gives us the target man we have been sorely missing since Wor Al.
  11. The new Amady Faye tbh. Get him in...
  12. Shit scared of losing face when they beat their lowest ever points tally next season. On his knees at eastlands as we speak.
  13. reluctant to let parker go, would be better used as a DM. But for that kind of money I think we will use it better. He seems to want out as soon as possible, I dont remember the last time he came out and said anything about the team. Like Cali rightly said, making him captain was his downfall. He simply couldnt take it, Roeder using him the wrong way didnt help either. He will do alot better at West Ham. Personally from what i have seen of Barton I rate him, all the city fans I know love him. Think £5.5m is steep though, especially considering City want rid of him. Has run every game I have seen him play in. "Creative as a brick" ? I guess you never watched him play. Fair enough he isnt like you say a big time creative midfielder but he certainly has an eye for a pass or cross, or even shot on goal, as he has proved against us. Bit harsh IMO. Would be a decent addition to the team, maybe too much of a head case, but id have no concerns Allardyce could contain him. That said before he was a manager you would have though Pearce wouldnt have taken any shit of anyone either.
  14. Absolutely fantastic signings for Manure and the premiership, its the start of possibly the craziest summer in transfer history IMO. Villa, Us, Chelsea, Manure, Westham, Man City will all be spending big, plus with the windfall all the other teams will have extra change to go out and buy. Id think these two became available and Manure jumped on them, wouldnt have thought either were in the three he was talking about. Hargreaves, a LB, a Striker. Id be hugely suprised if Manure or any of the big guns went for Owen this summer, they will wait to see if he is back to his best and whether his injuries are behind him or not before they spend money on him. Id expect him to stay here until christmas at least. Huntelaar incoming? would be a fantastic signing again for manure.. A decent goal machine is the missing link. The premiership will be great watching next season!
  15. Looking like he should be Wagner Love in that pic.
  16. Would be an excellent signing. CB is his prefered position, looks good for the argies there, but has looked better at LB for Manure. Doubt he will stay in the premiership, certainly wont be coming our way.
  17. If owen had to come out and comment on speculation of him leaving he would have to do it every week. The rest of the world cant cope with the fact he came to us ahead of Liverpool or Manure. Given, Parker, Dyer all get linked but rarely come out and declare undying love for the club. He has come out numerous times since he has been here saying how guilty he feels about being injured and wants to return and pay back our loyalty up to a month ago. I think the majority of people just want him to leave just to satisfy their own pre-conceptions. But if at the end of the day he leaves, he leaves, big deal, we replace him. he has no emotional links with the club. He is a professional footballer that will go where his opportunities of winning things are best. As for Crouch, its a steep price 7/8m tops. But would be a good addition, as would viduka. Crouch, Martins, (owen) Viduka, Shola isnt a bad group. Carrol can get some decent experience elsewhere.
  18. Wagner Love actually is a half decent player too!
  19. Its a bit worrying if true to make Sam a tinkerman mark two. Fair enough if he is throwing that kind of money at him, he should see results, but he has to understand the mess the club is in and the measures and time it will take to fix it before we can really step forward. Personally I think Big Sam will be relishing this, its more pressure yes, but like HTT says its all he has ever wanted. I dont think signing playes will be a problem, he has worked with some of the worlds best and some big egos, just a price tag wont make a difference to how he handles a certain player. Off the pitch he will put the club in great shape, can he tactically do it with the best on the field we will have to see.
  20. For your info, sunderland are "challenging for the champions league" too. hahaha Its time someone really needs to tell them to look at the table the right way up.
