Not much blame can be apportioned to Bridge if someone comes along and snaps his f****** ankle though, is there? Unlucky? Yes. Injury prone 'perma-crock' ? No. Well if he hadnt been so committed.... Thats not the point, Im not agreeing with the 76 year old, im just saying it matters not, even if it was his fault, the injury happened. The injury then left him unlucky (yes), and for a good while after injury prone, which is still obviously debatable now.
  3. Whats all this? Realism, reverse phsycology or both?
  4. blueyes.gif Tbh, its one of the reasons i dont post much on here in the summer. Its mainly a load of "we're signing player x, oh no we're not, yes we are cos The Sun said it." Yawn. Its that mental toture thing some people seem to kinda like though. Each to there own, easy to see why you steer clear. Its easy to go mad. Personally I enjoy the speculation part to a point, yet cant stop myself from looking even though im fed up to the teeth of it.

Doesnt matter whose fault it was, it has still left him with a question mark over continued fitness. I think he is over the worst of it, but you cant ever be sure. We could sign Heinze or Baines and they could get a freak incident on the training pitch, Heinze has also suffered on the Injury front, and unlike Bridge is yet to come back to his best form.

Dont think he is particularly interested in moving here, Manure would probably sell him to us over Liverpool if he did though. Italy or Spain beckons I think.
  7. There is surely only any point for Geremi to be there, Rozehnal and Barton have both had one havent they? And Vidukas not even here.

    Queudrue?

Difference between Young and Quedrue for me, is that the latter was an excellent player at Boro. Young for me I have Never rated as anything above average. Solid enough for backup and better than Carr - tick But not a great improvement on what we already have, although SHOULD be better defensively than Geremi and Solano, isnt close to being as good going forward. We have had an excellent summer as it is, ive wanted new full backs here for years and its a part of the pitch that should have been addressed years ago, but if we ended up with Quedrue and a CB that can play at right back I wont be too upset for now. We need better, but it will improve Babayaro and Carr to actually have competition. Regardless of the mindset/attitude a player might have, being able to come to training everyday/matchday knowing you will get picked regardless will always de-motivate you.
  9. Because they have been oh so reliable so far.
  10. God didnt realise he was that old. Wouldnt be upset if we signed him, but I dont think there is a need, we could probably do better now.

    Queudrue?

Baines was pretty impressive defensively at the U21's this summer, I was quite suprised. Not in anyway convinced by Shorey, lets see how he does this season. Baines is a much better prospect IMO, with guidance and better players to learn from could be a great player.

    Queudrue?

Was.. at the smoggies, been downhill since though. Was only a couple of years ago, like Duscher, Manure were after him for £8m.
  18. Huntington and Rozenhal are both huge. 6'3. [/quote I reckon Rozza is telling him to get that f**king hair cut and stop poncing about with it during training. Ramage- "Am I disgusted or a little turned on?" Roz- "Thats right boy, I didnt say you could look"
  19. no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, yes, i mean no, no, no, no, no.

    Queudrue?

Very much so, but even if we do make it into Europe with this calibre of player they are still going to be holding us back when we try and make the next step up towards where we seemingly want to be.. We need to look for players who are good enough for us now and have the potential to get better as we get closer to fulfilling our supposed ambitions. Baines would fit that mould, as would perhaps Hoyte.. If we make it into Europe we buy a top class left back who is here for the right reasons, bumo Quedrue to back up and Babayaro leaves as his contract will have run out. Sounds like a good plan at first sight but: a) will Quedrue be prepared to be a squad player? b) will buying the "finished article" not be far more expensive and risky than buying a very proming young player now who is available relatively cheaply and can develop along with the club? c) in a year's time, will Quedrue not just be the new Babayaro? Do backup players really need to be older and less motivated than the first team players? Could a) and c) not just be resolved by selling/releasing him then? If that happens. as for b) Everyone I think, certainly myself, would love Baines here, but Wigan are holding out for the kind of money that you think would be too expensive next year. Similar to the Duscher situation, Quedrue would be a short term stop gap that would solidify our squad, moving us to a better place next summer where better options will be available. We could splash out on someone now, but we will be in a better place to attract better players this time next year. Getting rid of Quedrue/Baba will be alot easier than someone we pay out alot for on a long term contract. Personally I wouldnt be very chuffed with Quedrue. But we are at a point we need to solidify the team before we move to the next level. That said theres nothing to say we wont sign Baines or similar on top of Quedrue.
  21. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/journalsport/tm_headline=heinze-snub-to-united-interest%26method=full%26objectid=19447872%26siteid=50081-name_page.html Seems more likely this is true, than us sending him home after one training session that Big Sam wasnt even present at.
  22. Whats Rozehnal doing in the backround posing in a red shirt?
