What the fuck are we sigining that horrible bastard for: 1. He's no better than Beye. 2. He's an utter mercenary c*nt. 3. He wears gloves, the soft tart. 4. Willie McKay. Hope it's all bollocks as I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole __________________

If we get as many points in the final third of the season, as we did in our last 13 games, we will be relegated. I can't see us getting away points for a while so the away games against side below us are must wins now. I'd like to share other people's confidence, but this could end up going horribly tits up.

Born in 1969, first games were at the end of the 77-78 relegation season. Started going regularly in 79-80 (Withe, Shoulder, Cassidy etc.)

I can confirm that Rent-a-Mong will be sending along 600 of their best slack-jawed charvers. Can't wait.

To be fair, the bloke is probably wishing his life would end at that very minute. It's like really bad Partridge.

That is possibly the most embarrassing thing in the entire history of football. mackems.gif

Media trying to stir bad blood with Owen/Keegan already?

Fucking the scouse parasite off should be KK's first job IMHO. -
This. Plus, those 2nd places were how long ago? exactly. He has one hell of a task on his hands. Expectations are going to be waaaay too high. The majority of people (not necessarily those on here) are going to expect him to get us in a similar position to where he left us. I'm not saying all Keegan-backers are like this, but I guarentee there will be some. And this attacking football business, if we honestly try to play like we did 11 years ago, we're facing relegation. The Arsenal team of 2008 would have totally raped the Newcastle team of 1996. Couldn't beat Birmingham last week. Seriously doubt it. You'd think some people on here want Keegan to fail, so they can tell us they told us so. The Birmingham team of last week had a better defence than 1996 NUFC. Darren f****** Peacock ffs. Utterly clueless.

He failed at a number of jobs, based on effectively cracking and walking away. Its just the way things are. Plenty of people would argue against that, and state other reasons for his departures. If nowt else, least he has the decency to resign, rather than hanging on for a pay-off. So now he's some kind of brave soldier for walking away, as opposed to a man who couldn't take the pressure and did one?? Once could be discussed. Twice would be very unfortunate.........more than that? You seriously think every departure can be dismissed on its own merits, ignoring the pattern? Keegan did not fail here last time. I'm sure the bright successful managers like Hughes and Moyes would love that level of failure So define his success, here and elsewhere. I would define success as leaving every club he has been at in a much better position than when he arrived, playing excellent football on the way. Are you serious! ask Man City fans then. Are you taking the piss? He got City promoted playing some of the best football their fans had seen in decades and established them as Premier League side. Fair enough, it tailed off towards the end but do you actually know any Man City fans. Like I said, he left the club in a far better position than when he arrived. Apart from the fact they had to start again, as he'd left no legacy at all to speak of. So even though you're forgotten about some of the good youth he brought through there, were Man City in a better position before or after Keegan's arrival? One word answer please.

If you say so! Do you know any??

Very good.....then kirkwdavis spoiled it.
-
He says he's not a shadow over the club, and then declares he wants a job he's not being considered for.......immediately putting pressure on whoever gets the gig. If he was that bothered about management, he should be managing in the lower leagues like Ince, not fannying about on the tell and playing golf, expecting to walk into our job when it suits him. Legend he may be, but he's doing himself no favours here.
-
As much as I am excited by the prospect of bringing in an exciting young manager like Deschamps, it is a hell of a gamble in my opinion. We are currently 6 points off relegation, can't score or defend, the confidence is shot to shit and we are in desperate need of some new players. I'd be amazed if Deschamps knew more than a handful of our players and he certainly won't know the domestic transfer market. I think this would be a great appointment, but just think that it is the wrong time to do it. Hughes would be a much safer choice.
-
Why don't we dig up the corpse of Joe Harvey for manager and have the spirit of Stan Seymour as Director of Football. For fucks sake.
-
They did well and got a guy with a great CV. Sad thing is, he would have come here too.......although our mong element would have been up in arms. Who do you suggest we go for?
-
I don't know why people are so against Mark Hughes in all honesty. He's done a cracking job managing Wales & Blackburn, has a decent record in the transfer market and his teams play good football.....but he can also get them to battle, so is not a one trick pony like Allardyce. He also is a very intelligent guy who has been at two of the world's biggest club, so he he will understand the pressures associated with this job. We're a shambles at the minute so are highly unlikely to be able to attract a top manager, and what are the other genuine alternatives? Do we really want to take a gamble on an unproven manager, or somebody who has never worked in this country when we are sitting 6 points above the relegation zone. His appoinment makes sense to me.

Keegan's the Roy Munson of football. Cheers for the memories and all that, but no thanks.

What Has Happened To The North East Production Line?
thedudeabides replied to Tooj's topic in Football
Thatcher closed it down in the 80's I heard. -
In the FA Cup Final obviously.
-
What a tart. Good job you didn't watch us in the 70's and 80's then.

This was purely a business decision by Ashley and Mort. Another half season of absolutely garbage football, would have seen at least 10,000 fans jacking in their season ticket. They've merely made a move to address that......whether or not Rednapp is the right choice as replacement remains to be seen.
-
Seriously underwhelmed by Rednapp, would rather have had Coppell or Hughes if we had to appoint from the Premiership. Is this really the height of our ambitions nowadays? Shite.
