  1. Glad we've actually put in a decent offer, not some stupid 2 year extension bollocks. Wonder when we'll hear either way :\
  2. The BBC asked him "If you are offered a contract, will you sign it?" So Owen replied that it depended what it was! If it was 6 months, he thinks he's got a bit more to offer, and laughed it off basically.
  3. Really, really hope he signs. I would have to think he'd be a bit of an idiot to though, given our current situation. Just having a read of tommorows Telegraph article - they reckon its a 3 year deal, 80k basic but with a lot of bonus's which could push it above his current rate if he were to hit it. Hmm
  4. Maybe the pennys dropped that relegation = value plummeting.
  5. Some quotes from Kinnear taken from the Shields Gazette; And one of Kinnear's first tasks will be to attempt to open contract talks with Michael Owen, Shola Ameobi and Steve Harper, all of whom, as it stands, will be able to leave St James's Park next summer on free transfers. "I spoke to Mike yesterday afternoon, and he's asked me to stay as manager of the club until the end of the season," said Kinnear, whose side take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium tomorrow. "I'm absolutely delighted. We had a good talk, and he made it clear that he's happy for me to keep going, and that there would be money for the three or four new players we believe we need in the transfer market in January. "On this score, I can tell our fans that we have three or four irons in the fire, and it's just as case of wait and see, and obviously, there are several players contracts still to sort out. "After speaking to Mike, I went in to see our managing director Derek Llambias and our football secretary Lee Charnley, and we are all keen to get things up and running. "Funnily enough, while I was talking to our directors yesterday afternoon, all my family were ringing me from London and saying that all the talk down there was that I was going to be the next manager of Charlton Athletic."
  6. Hate to say it, but if the club simply isn't get sold soon, then its the best decision to make. You can't change the manager again now, and the players and staff know now the deal until the end of the season. Heres hoping to a big overhaul in the summer, mind.
  7. Couldnt find a thread on reserves, but merge it if there is one. Anyway, the reserves are on tele tonight at home to Liverpool - Sky channel 434 if you've got setanta Ranger on the bench! Steve Harper, Phil Airey, Darren Lough, Mark Doninger, David Edgar, Tamas Kadar, James Marwood, Brad Inman, Andy Carroll, Fabio Zamblera, Shane Ferguson. Subs: Jeff Henderson, Ole Soderberg, Sammy Ameobi, James Tavernier, Nile Ranger.
  8. If anyone cares, Gutierrez is starting for the Argies, Coloccini on the bench.
  9. That is our first proper healthy looking bench in a long time.
  10. Come on Liverpool, a few goals today would be lovely.
  11. That team looks a hell of a lot stronger with no Butt or Geremi in it. Be better when Owen or Viduka get back
  12. David Craig on SSN reckons starts for Jonas, Enrique and Barton tonight. Guessing that means Bassong, Butt and Geremi drop out.
  13. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/default.stm Check out the photo the BBC used.
  14. The Mail are just saying "The Sun says". They always rehash other papers storys the next morning.
  15. Even the man city deal took another couple of weeks or so after announcement to actually go through. Its highly likely the the new people would keep Joe on for a week or 2 or until they had their own guy ready to come in anyway.
  16. The Times reckon Butt could miss out with a foot injury
  17. Not really - he said he's made transfer plans earlier in case he was here in january.
