We had arguably the best setup for a real long time, a conveyer belt of talent, we haven’t won everything and other nations have had strong squads for a long time. but as with all national teams, relied on the older players one tourney too long. Happens in every nation, men and women. Our domestic game is well shite though, and the European league is far far better. Our best players have played there but they’ve seemingly wanted home comforts. Can’t blame them. At one point Morgan, Mewis, Horan, Lavelle (some of our best) all had good spells in the European league. Horan is still there. We’ve been decimated by injuries over the last 6 months tho. This coach we have now was a bad hire imo and people have been annoyed about it for a while.

Barnes mistakes in his linkup is probably why he’ll have to be eased in. -

I don’t like how Barnes links up with Wilson. Ball behind every time. -
Joelinton hasn’t played as a right center mid all preseason mind you. So in this instance we’re assuming he plays that role?

why are you calling him AGM? -
It’s a bit funny to me, there is always this slight and doubt on Dan Burn; he generally gets done for pace early in matches and then slowly but surely we adapt as a team, Dan adjusts his own positioning and timing and then we’re back in control.

An obscure cheap signing from abroad who knows they’ll be played situationally.
-
The Fraser thing is just so odd, he was so prominent with our social media the first season with Eddie, and was shown a lot earlier on last season then he just disappeared.
-
I don’t think you sign a guy for 40m to sit on bench but then again Gordon did last half of season….

I genuinely don't see it with Caciedo, where as I see Mac Allister being a class player and the fee he went for was a bit of anomaly given the release clause was on the cheap side. Bang on @rgk_lfc re buying from Dortmund, RB and Brighton - you get the feeling there's this inflation and aura about their players that in reality, hasn't been all hit and really has seen more misses. Granted, those transfers seem to have been to clubs who have been in in a bit of turmoil from a manager standpoint, so there is that (thinking Cuc, Bissouma, Sancho, etc). Tony Bloom is one of the best owners out there, but there will always be a limit to the player recycling and trading + manager replacements. If De Zerbi goes, whos the next gem? WIll he be able to quickly reshape the team in his image and keep the club ticking?

Hopefully they treat us better than every single club's release this 23/24 season of absolute shite kits.
-
Very very excited about this one. Clearly one we absolutely wanted.
-
What’s the point in looking at last season anyway if you just constantly discount and slag those as one offs? “Oh it’ll never happen again” “won’t work” Jesus Christ man
-
Has pace, strength, tactical flexibility, pressing, ball carying and about 32 goals between them last season in the PL.
-
Would be my dream signing, like.
-
Would absolutely run through a fucking wall for Eddie.

Aye, the sock never lies.

If we start purring and hit a run of form quickly, I can see a similar season to last. As much as you get found out, it's very very hard to play through a press as good as ours with the athletes we have in midfield and attack.
