Most people in our squad would have skied that over. Longstaff hit it with such venom that the keeper had to make the catch, deflect it away for maybe a corner, or spill it. I thought it was fantastic technique by Sean.

Goal #1 was what i was hoping i'd see more of, and when he's been on some breaks with the ball, i was really expecting him to actually drive with the ball and make a move and shoot. He takes like 3-4 too many touches or lets the defenders close in too easily.

Seemed strange positioning anyway that Schar was sucked into that left side and Dummett was pushed up. Willems was also sort of in no man's land too.

Should be breaking the bank to sign Bowen if ASM is badly hurt. Having Bowen tied up to arrive Jan 1

Evidence of scaring the shit out of the opposition: For our winner, Jetro played him a ball on the left wing and 4 Southampton players went over to him. 2 doubled him up tight and 2 were behind them watching to see what the fuck he’d do with the ball. He held it a few seconds and drew them in. Pulled it back to Sean, who took his drive and then Fede sweeped in the spill. This is a massive blow to the team if he’s out for a long time.

Might see that this upcoming weekend with ASM likely out.

I’ve never really cared about playing style. It’s always a results thing for me. If the team is set out to play a certain way, I’m more impressed with the execution of the tactics. Whatever they are. Well, to an extent.

Oddly, the first thing i thought of when i saw this was that "it's now destined to fall apart" because they tied him up to a long contract. like a kiss of death.

I am certainly unhappy with the ownership, really don't rate the manager either and all the hope I've had at the back end of last season + that takeover that never truly happened really drained me. Mike Ashley certainly outlasted the fight I had in me; I'm at this point where I don't get too mad or too happy at results, I try to just watch each match because I still love football, I still love NUFC (for what it has been in my life as a sporting team that I have always supported from far away) and I do enjoy talking about the team - good or bad on here. I don't think I'll ever allow myself to go back to being as deeply involved as I was when i was younger.
