Pays to be a club in London.
-
A back 3 of Botman, Schar and Guehi would be fucking immense by the way. Hall and Liv/Trip as wingbacks.
-
Hope all attending have no bother and stay safe.

Genuinely think he will wear the armband over the rest in the group as a nod to him, torch passing kind of thing.
-
Harsh to call him a bust, he was a fantastic end to end fullback on loan. We all wanted him back, he came back and then has been hurt basically ever since. The emergence of Big Dan Burn in the season we finished 4th sealed it. Tigz would have been a backup to him had he been fit. His injuries seem more bad luck than anything else. Just happens in football. I’d be more inclined to call him a bust if he was just plain bad football player, which he is not.

Which hasn’t been the update at all, right?

Why does the thread title revert to just name?

Yoro hurt for like 3 months no?

The CB v RW debate should really just agree to disagree with respect to which is the greater need now imho. Both are solid and valid arguments. I am of the mindset you have to solidify the back first; it’s what helped us get 4th. If Guehi can help us play a high line, win the ball back in their half and keep the opposition pinned so we’re recycling attack after attack, (with Pope sweeping) then we’re going to be ace this season assuming we stay relatively injury free or at least the main stars stay fit. No doubt in my mind we’ll push for our long term targets and be opportunistic, it’s about as clear as day we always seem to push decisively when those players become available to us.

That Ignacio Nacho Gonzalez debut was arguably one of the worst things I have ever seen in my life.
-
We played a masssive run of games with same players fatigued as fuck; had we any decent options fit off the bench we'd have actually gone on to achieve MORE last season.
-
I'd be genuinely surprised if a Michael Edwards FSG/Liverpool + Slot who's had an entire history turning lesser knowns into something would go after peak value signings. Liverpool's stars of recent years were all signed in the same bracket of what we've done since the takeover in terms of signing the 30-50m player who could double in value.

He’s seriously the best. What a guy.
-
History should look kindly on wood, who like you said wasn’t anything special but the key was that he was a focal point and didn’t force us to shift too many pieces around. He also banged in a few crucial goals when it seemed like nothing was going to work for us.

Thought Parky looked decent in preseason last summer but haven’t really seen him do anything since. Issue is he doesn’t have one really strong trait, he’s neither lightning fast or tall or built like a unit. So it’s his footballing brain and technical ability, which could be very good but hard to see what he can do when he’s out there with the 3rd or 4th stringers in a second half or a preseason game.

I know this Raphina stuff is always not happening but Christ he’d be absolutely perfect for our right wing spot. Raphina and Gordon on the flanks with Isak central. Bruno, Tonali and JL/willock. Add to that if we somehow pull off Guehi…we’d be capable of; must stop.

Really good post in context. Summed up very well.
-
We haven’t had a legit young striker prospect who was signed as a backup to spell our main guys in ages, right? If memory serves right.
-
Tomori clearly seems happy in Milan, no? And hasn’t made the same impact on England as Guehi, right or wrong.
-
If we’re moving Trippier than you have to have Hall’s ball playing ability from the back in the team IMHO.
-
Just can tell with how truly grounded he is with his wife, mother and father. Think they are just happy, thankful people. club just needs to continue showing him the love, he’ll continue to repay that to all involved and the fans. We cant slouch as a club either which means we have have to keep improving.
-
Do we think Trippier is likely to stay or is he a late window type move out? If his head is sorted I’d rather he and Tino duke it out at fullback.
-
not the kind of guy to make shit up for PR either imho. He’s very much as real as it gets.
