  1. This for me, if Taylor/Colo can't play...Dummett or Good at CB?
  2. He's a shouter and organizer - watch him whenever they have the ball he's holding his position and barking orders to his fellow CB to hold the line, move up, etc. He's essential to us right now, crazy enough.

:rant:Scratching my head about this fella. There are times every pass and dribble works...then there are times like the last 3 times he's played where nothing works.
  4. I'm wondering if Tiote was hurt and got up and ran forward? Thought he was.... His confidence shouldn't be shattered; he didn't get undone for a half and we conceded a ton or something - he played wonderfully before the red which he can learn from.
  5. Thought he was down, hurt or something?
  6. He looks like the Cabaye I remember from his first season. He's playing with a point to prove, awesome stuff.
  7. The worst thing you do from this is beat down on Mapou after team put in a shift to get a point. The best thing you do is to big up a young man's confidence and tell him he was outstanding before the send off and that's the type of football that validates why we signed him and why we believe in him to be a future star for the club.
  8. You CAN forgive it when we got a point from it and you realize he's our player and he'll learn from this, we need him to. The potential is all there to see.

    Paul Dummett

He just looks a real class player in the making. I'm urging him to cement himself as our future LB, yes at the expense of Santon....I sound mad, but I just really like this kid.
  10. He's a fighter, its what I really like about him. He played well against speedy and tricky wide players and held his positional discipline.
  11. We were, but if Mapou doesn't take down Suarez and he scores - I'm wondering if we would have fought back or would have layed down. The sending off almost felt like the players thought they were wronged by the ref so they were fighting together. But totally hear what you are saying Bimp mate.
  12. Of course they were for the taking.... we had the lead twice. With that said a draw was a fair result in the end, if only we would defend like that most weeks and we'd be alright. Nice to see Debuchy and Santon not out of position constantly for once. I'm seriously thinking the organizing influence of Big Mike has made a hell of a difference. I also think AP has probably instructed the backs to not venture as far forward, it was very clear Debuchy wasn't bombing on as much, only at more of the right times.
  13. I'm with this post. I also just hate the soft overdramatic contacts that become more than they should. Call me old school at heart. I know what you mean, it's not really a foul that's worthy of a red. The problem is that you have to have a punishment that stops people just bringing down every forward who's through on goal. Yeah, and I won't even pretend say I know what a better way or better solution would be. If we want to talk letter of the law with Mapou's red, then Gerrard's professional foul on Remy should have seen yellow with letter of law and he should have went off, right?

    Alan Pardew

I was thinking during the 2nd half... *Pardew probably gets his jollies off to full on defensive football with a man down, gets to have so much defensive football and hoof clearances* Whatever he drilled today, before the sending off, bringing Dummett on, whatever - he deserves praise, the boys went out and fought for the club and him.

Something still looks off with him since Villa. So weird.
  17. Spot-on Andy Perfect opportunity for AP and the staff to teach Mapou from here. He was playing really great leading up to it. The type of thing that can BUILD young person is to give him confidence in the strong things he did.
  18. We looked likely to win it at 11 v 11. I just don't know dude, I hear you though. Hope you see where I'm coming from. Few points I want to make: 1) We conceded when Big Mike was drawn out, I doubt we would have had he stayed in the middle. He was brilliant shouting and organizing today - Mapou looked much more assured before the send off with Big Mike organizing. 2) This point could be massive for us, everyone was nervy about playing Liverpool and the whole fighting together and keeping together and grinding out a result will do wonders for us psychologically. Perfect heading into the derby, you want that unified positive effort and feeling. 3) Think Mapou will learn a ton from this, he was playing great leading up to it and AP will do well to tell him so, this is a teaching moment for him and should tell Mapou he's all the confidence in him.
  19. SO proud of all the lads - all of them for putting in a shift and working their socks off for the result. I'm sitting here thinking, would the result been the same if we had 11 out there? Would we ended up losing? I'm thinking the 10 men somehow suited us. Maybe I'm wrong.
  20. I've been saying all week how much I love PD man, what a young man.
  21. Because I can. Idiots like him need to be shown up for what they are. He's not an idiot. He's a top man and one of the best posters on here. Move along man.
  22. Yep. 100%. He was playing really well. I'm disappointed in him as he should have played defense and tried to put the shot off or allow Krul to make the save, if not Suarez scores we have all 11 still on pitch and we try and rebuild our stronghold and try to win the match. Needs a good talking to by AP, an arm around his shoulder and move on - he was playing really well prior to that.
  23. Why do people recall old quotes? What the hell is the point? He literally searched what you said Ron to try and make some point? People need to get on with their lives sometimes.
