Shearer is fucking hilarious man i love him to bits
  5. Could just do interior and facility upgrades if anything too - if they haven't already. Wasn't the Anfield expansion massively expensive?
  6. Spent more money figuring out how to expand Anfield and keep stadium operational than was normally feasible in business
  7. Current Liverpool owners went and got Klopp, expanded beloved Anfield, fought to keep Coutinho, sign whoever Klopp wants there is no reason to hate FSG and John Henry imo
  8. I want this club to be the very best and be up there in the top rungs of the league, challenging for titles, cups, Champions League, global presence - I want to see us win more often than not - and in today's global landscape of sport - you need to spend money to do that and you need to pay agents, high wages, etc. I'd love to see the academy produce proper players, I'd like to see articles of experts loving our facilities etc. Anyway, all of this takes money - we've suffered a ton under Ashley and the only reason we are where we are today is because Rafa Benitez has poured every single bit of life into this, so fuck it. If this actually happens and the owners want to build a fantastic club from top to bottom with everything in place for success, let's fucking have it. We all deserve it.
  9. The steve, pixel and ON posts back to back were fucking hilarious plz happen plz
  10. You've gone full nuclear in the case without knowing anything
  11. Theoretically 28 billion. But. Thinks of her as your financial adviser or pension guy if you have one. Her job is to make your money grow. Her investors won't give a flying f*** about NUFC and probably haven't even heard of us. The one certainty is that if she invests money from the fund she manages into a football club, she is duty bound to take more money out of it than she put in. Would you want your pension fund manager sanctioning 60 million of funds to buy Kyle Walker or 35 million to buy Jordan Pickford ? Unlikely. I get what you mean here, but I think that's only if she's working on behalf of others. What I mean is if she's buying this for herself, what's her personal wealth? Not the wealth that she manages for others. I looked it up the other day and couldn't find it; I doubt she has anything near the personal wealth of Mike Ashley - but she's def worth a decent chunk - assuming in the XX or XXX hundred millions based on all of the crap I've read. I have the feeling this will be a joint venture partnership in which she's the managing member overseeing the larger stack of equity from her firm's contacts. Again literally just guessing here but trying to apply what I know from American sports + sovereign wealth funds investment in big real estate deals.
  12. All of this would be disclosed in pending litigation and respective legal teams will either get comfortable with it or not.
  13. He’d monetize and make a decent wedge. He’s also seemingly tired of owning this club. Wipe his hands of this. That’s why he’d sell. It’s not hard. His valuation is prob as high as hell ever get with the investment he’s put in (including players) and he’s got a manager who will attract buyers. Probably also doesn’t want to deal with any further economic downturns as well owning us.
  14. as long as we have a new owner in place for January and with funds to give Rafa what he wants and no more buying players we just simply need. (Soz Joselu)
  15. To be fair one of the journalists said they'd spoken to someone who knows her and they'd said she'd know full well what people would think of her being at the game in the posh seats. She also wants to become a populist as well if she does pull this off or is part of the deal or even brokering it. It will no doubt make her a massively popular figure in sport.
  16. Ah man, sometimes...this club, makes you dream and hope again. My feeling on football today is based on how it's all going, we're going need to sizable investment to make sure we are on a sound footing again with a real/clear long-term plan in which we invest in every area of the club. We're lagging behind and Rafa is doing his best to try and chance as much as he can with limited funds. Back him full on and let him build the club he's always wanted to from top to bottom; imagine that we'd fucking win some trophies imo.
  17. If bought by super ambitious owner who wants to invest heavily into all areas of the club (first team, academy, scouting, facilities - stadium (reno/expansion), training centre for 1st team & academy) and the area - you get the best of the best. I firmly believe the next owner of this club would do just that - there is far too much wasted opportunity by Mike Ashley to not have invested into the infrastructure of the club that he'd no doubt get a serious ROI on if he had any foresight into this stuff. I have to assume Southampton's value was very much driven by their excellent facilities and academy.
  18. Him strolling on the pitch after the match is also one of my favorite things to watch.
  19. nothing more insulting than people just going "I mean that's what you get for a 5m striker"
