I had essentially the same injury as him as a kid playing football with someone poking me straight in the eye. Couldn't see etc, didn't get surgery as I healed on my own like the Wolverine that I am.
Pulling for him as I always felt he's got so much ability and loved the way he bossed it for Ajax.
Or we could go get a credit facility or a bank loan and sign some fucking players and immediately use TV money that comes in monthly to pay that down. Or we could get money from Fat Mike and pay him back immediately.
Charnley and co need to get creative, the money stream is very much there, it's not rocket science and it's likely very easy to service with the gtd cash coming in.
Hanley was signed and started the first match of the season, Rafa surely saw him as an experienced leader (captain of Blackburn right?) and Clark was signed from Villa having not had a very good season at all (IIRC) the year prior. Clark emerged as the best and most reliable defender in the team and displaced Hanley.
So not really worth making any signings then
nah, I mean s*** - if we sign a few good players it would be revised. Blind optimist says our ceiling is 8th so assuming we do well in the window and have some surprises, etc.
Good analysis there, Rich.
As a deal person myself I'm fascinated on how these deals are structured. As a football fan I can't help but be disgusted by how terrible this is for the sport
.
I'd see that as a decent window tbh. Would have loved a left-back but we can look at that again in January or next summer.
That Karnezis we're apparently looking at, Lucas Perez, and getting that Correa on a similar deal to Merino. Let me dream.
You and I have been on the same page since yesterday...plz happen.
When he's confident and swaggering around the pitch playing really good passes hes really a joy to watch. I think he's capable of doing much more so have high hopes for him that he'll continue to improve under Rafa's management.
