  2. PD seems pretty awesome in the air this season too.
  3. I'm beginning to fully warm to PD playing CB over Bantz by the way. He's far better a tackler, passer and to me, better in the air.
  4. BTW I have to imagine this is a match Cabella will look better in.
  5. Man, to think we beat them 2x at home last 2 seasons and its been fucking epic man
  6. Fucking show up today man, show up. Play like you should be playing.
  7. Bit mad/sad what Gouffran has become since that match v Chelsea on his home debut.

    Kevin Keegan

We will be back one day. New owner. Manager worth a damn and people will be going mad at SJP enjoying football again.
  9. Part of me misses those kind of stadiums. Then I see like the Lille stadium, Allianz Arena etc and wonder hmm
  10. Thing is, Abeid actually was good at shooting in Greece. It's Tiote who's still worse for me
  11. this wasn't supposed to be as funny as you meant it, but it was
  12. Same. Our best chance to win/get a point/not get destroyed is that team.
  13. I'd rather just play Alnwick in Goal, man.
  14. Still trying to save a little face, Hatem, Ron. Think he's just trying to be political over it. I'll stand firmly behind the lack of any bit of foresight by Pardew to have been complicit in robbing US the supporters of getting to see a talent like him weekly. Pardew would have gotten a longer leash had he just vocally supported Hatem and left him out at RW, imo. Hatem also packed on weight (muscle or fat, whatever) and was never able to stay or look fit; fair enough. But anyway, I'll always blame Pardew first - he's a fucking manager acting like a sad, pissed, unprofessional clown - at all times.
  15. Pretty sure I read an article when he signed that he actually talked to Chris and liked that he was such a sensible, nice, and down to earth man. But fair enough dude, All my post was about was just thinking out loud...like how in the fuck did we get this mad bastard to not turn up to training, go on strike, arrive at the airport and all that. Just sounds ludicrous and probably a decent/fascinating story. An inside on the deal, basically.
  16. Would love to know, at some point, the process in which Carr got through to his agent, convinced him to want to join us, and then the whole saga afterwards. My take is that Chris Hughton was such a good bloke, he wanted to be here even more. Pardew, the charlatan that he is, talked up a good enough game to make Hatem believe he'd be first name on the team sheet. So putting 2 & 2 together, Carr probably did his normal pitch, Hughton convinced him to join us, he relished playing for 52k mad Newcastle supporters, gets hurt, gets OVERWHELMING LOVE from Newcastle supporters, gets basically a life-long connection/affection for Us, Hughton is sacked, Pardew comes in and the sneaky salesman convinces him that he wants to sign him long-term, even with his injury (makes HBA happy), spouts the normal shit about how wonderful the fans are here, and says he'll build the team around him or let him get back to what he does best. No sense that every time Hatem came on and did the business, Pardew was happy, and when he didn't/got hurt/forced Pardew to make changes, he was being punished for it; and eventually made the scapegoat.

    Kevin Keegan

Some good players in that Hamburg side as I recall. Manny Kaltz was a fine sweeper, Horst Hrubesch an excellent centre forward, and foil for Karl Heinz Rummenigge in the National side, plus the midfield artistry of Felix Magath. Keegan was the jewel in the crown though, I don't think I've ever seen such work rate from a player save maybe Peter Beardsley. Keegan never stopped running, and was brave as a lion too. What pissed me off reading that is football today can be that simple, yet, it becomes over complicated by manager's who think their stats and tactics they read in some fucking book or tape, or hell, do what Mourinho did some time ago and think that is how it should be done. We had an opportunity to go guns blazing against Benfica in the Europa League, at a rocking SJP with everyone fit and ready to play and the idiotic manger we had decided to keep it tight for 70 mins and then unleash some attackers for 20 mins of magic when we needed goals.
  18. As petty as I am, love it. I could easily start career mode by adding HBA, Marv, MYM back. Cutting Elliott and pretending he never existed. Yet, I still just cut him and spend money to terminate his contract. Used to do the same to Obertan too, mind you.
  19. Would like to see him just make 1 or 2 moves and bolt by his man and whip the ball at goal.
  20. We aren't going to win a single match before the year ends, feel like Spurs will take us down in the Cup too.
  21. In both PES/FIFA he's the first one I cut. I terminate this fat prick's contract, I waste my own money to get rid of him.
