  1. Top signing for them, jealous, again.
  2. Davies is brilliant. He and one of the other guys who passed away were my favorites when id get my hands on old highlights films, etc. The one who passed away did a few UEFA cup games for us too I recall?
  3. Warrior to potentially rebrand to New Balance? http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/20/report-warrior-football-to-be-re-branded-as-new-balance-in-201516/
  4. If we have to go for another DM - Stambouli please. If we get the chance to sign a creative player, then Grenier.
  5. I referred to him as the Red Lion of Killingworth at the bar on Sunday...completely beer influenced nickname.
  6. Footyheadlines did a mock of our 3rd kit based on whatever leaks they've seen (assuming PL media guide) http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kf0MmwDp9xs/U_DjGsTiZuI/AAAAAAAAWDQ/06lpvhWOTyI/s650/Newcastle-United-14-15-Third-Kit.jpg
  7. At least its the first match - nothing like an early win or loss to make or break the weekend/.
  8. Salt in Ashley's coffee "derisory offers" - something Ashley has NO idea about.
  9. ---------Stambouli---------- Sissoko------------De Jong
  10. Would love Stambouli in our team. Lovely footballer. Him next to Sissoko would be awesome.

    Remy Cabella

If it was up to me I'd have Ba or Remy in my team and call it a day But I'm speaking about our CURRENT squad and we've got Cisse, Manu, and Chucky man. So how do we get the best out of Cisse? Put in 2 dynamic playmakers in Cabella and Ben Arfa and give them freedom to play football. You then place De Jong behind Cisse and let him link things up, build-up play and provide a bit of aerial presence and intelligence in attack. That's all I'm saying - put in 2 players who can make space and play creative balls to Cisse for which he can thrive on, and you handle his lack of build up play and linking with De Jong who can also provide goal threat. Alternatively, Manu could be a decent partner for Cisse as he could very much be a Leon Best-like worker.
  12. He was moving the ball up-field first time and switching play VERY quickly throughout the match. He and Anita were using the ball very well when they had to. Pet peeve of mine is the time it takes for a player to switch play or get the ball up field, which we generally are slow at. Anita and Cabaye always moved it quickly, it was nice to see Colback do the same.

    Remy Cabella

No he's not shit. He's a striker who relies on chances to be created for him in a team that is not set up to create chances. He's not a 1/2 chance snatcher/vulture of a striker like Ba, nor is he the create your own shot or space striker like Remy, he's a put the ball in the box enough times or play it into space enough and I'll score. Unfortunately he plays in a team where we take 25 yard shots, have shit crossing, 0 movement, and generally place a striker on an island. He's still our best (proven) striker on our books and until we get another Remy/Ba player or Manu/Chuck step up we are looking light in the goals department.
  14. Colo's long term replacement is already on the books ffs. What is needed is the long-term partner to replace Willo/Saylor for good.

    Remy Cabella

Cisse would look immense in front of a 3 of Cabella, De Jong, and HBA imo.
  16. Lose Saturday, crash out of the league cup and a boring game the following weekend and the noise better be fucking loud.
  17. Micah's a right back, or at least he was originally. Just speaking based off my feeling on how dodgy out left side is with Santon out hurt and Pardew not knowing who he loves more out of Haidara and Paul Dummett. Feel like we could use Micah's strength and pace to cover the left side next to old one-paced Colo.
  18. Was thinking the same, man.
  19. Can Micah play left back? I'd take Micah and Scott Sinclair. Sinclair wide left, Cabella wide right would be lovely.
  20. Just stop shoe-horning players into "replacement" and you've gotten yourself sorted here. We still lack a central player who plays in the midfield that can dictate our play with intelligent passes and such. Cabella is a great attacking player who we've sorely lacked in the last 6 months, and Siem De Jong is potentially our future club captain and/or a good link-up man who not only is intellgent in the final 3rd but could help us in terms of hold-up, link-up, switching play and being somewhat of an aerial threat in the box - if his resume is anything to go by.
