  1. Edited with that rumored lineup, again, this is a fine formation that should and could work. We are sound in defense here, we have Tiote and Jonas as DCM/Box to Box respectively, we conserve Yohan's energy as an AM and let him be more involved closer to the edge of area where his short passing and right boot could do damage and you let Hatem do whatever the fuck he can to get us a goal or create one. Gouffran can drift in the areas around the box as well. This formation can also sort of be a hybrid 4-4-2 as well.
  2. ------------Elliott------------ Simmo-Saylor-Colo-Mapou < Mapou will be fine here, he's quick and Colo will be good for him. -------------Tiote------------ <Tell this f***er to be sitting in front of the half-way line, no venturing up. He's there to stop attacks, collect ball and give back to Midfield. -------Cabaye--Sissoko----- < These 2 should be able to cause problems but also give us some even balance and shape. No more Sissoko playing behind Cisse Hatem-----------------Gouff < Hatem and Gouff should basically be given license to create havoc, find space and get goals. Would love if Marv was fit, he'd be there for me -------------Cisse------------- < Do what you do best Papisto, get us a goal. Hopefully this week's clearing the air, bad-press, etc has given the lads a chance to speak up and given Pardew a chance to see things clearer. No more Cabaye as some super deep lying quarterback, no more Sissoko playing the number 10, and no more Tiote the poor man's Michael Essien. Get back to basics there, let these do what they do best and lets fucking get 3 points and save this club from the absolute shit storm we've known as this season.

I seem to remember our Reserves would feature players who were coming back from injury to get some much needed match time, etc. We don't do that anymore do we? Haven't recalled that in quite some time.

and I take back what I said about the Knicks in the other thread, hope you beat Boston.

Give it a rest bro. Just go on and will the Knicks on to get through and don't let those awful Bucs jokes bleed into the MLS thread.

Also to add - I'm not against the Cosmos getting one, I just would be really upset if it was at the cost of my own city's team and we'd have to wait longer. I mean there seems to be some really positive and strong momentum to get this done here. Hopefully the side that truly matters for the MLS is building it properly. The last time they followed money and money only they failed miserably. There's a reason why Seattle, Portland and Montreal are doing so well and have become the gold standard on how to build the MLS. But thanks man, would be awesome for not only having a local team to go support, but also it would be a key puzzle in transforming the Orlando/Central Florida region.

While, I totally see your point....All of those markets already have teams. Florida needs one (again) and this time its built a loyal fan base and its being done the right way. I just don't see the need for another MLS team in New York. Not through the pocket books of 1 dude and his sovereign money, but through years of building a team, creating a fan base, lobbying local politicians to get city/state funding, etc. Some things never change, and that's about a real success story through visions, planning and local support vs. what could be another plastic lifeless club.

Of course not. No one is saying that. The point is though, they already have a healthy standing in the game. They're willing to not just invest the startup fee but also three times that in a plush stadium (which will benefit the community whether they stay or not). I would agree that in some ways it is a concern given their potential motives, but ultimately there are a lot of upsides to this. Do a little research into Orlando City on OrlandoSentinel.com and see how much money they have already put up and the land downtown that they have already bought that will be used to build the stadium on, which is more than half-way financed by the owners of the club. If a franchise gets awarded to NY and not Orlando in the next few weeks it will be a huge travesty. We already average over 9k people for USL matches and our owners have put forth the money to make it happen. Beyond that, it's out of their control. If the NYC franchise wins it's politics and money exchanging hands. I'd love to see them give it to the Cosmos and for them to f***ing flop on their face to teach them right for offering a franchise with no existing fan base. They should have to get in the old fashioned way of the best clubs in MLS - Portland, Seattle, and places like Montreal - who already had existing fan bases. This. Would be an absolute joke if we don't get it given what MLS commissioner has already hinted at. By the way, an MLS team in Orlando with a new a build stadium will do absolute wonders for the city, our economy, and our overall downtown master plan. I've met with city planners numerous times for my hotel investment work and a lot of our urban growth is pinned on "that" side of downtown having the Amway Center (Magic) and the Orlando City stadium surrounded by parks, new office/retail, tech-campus, hotels, etc. Would be a kick in the gut given how on board and dialed in the city is now for this team and the Cosmos just buy themselves one without a real fan base and really, no damn work what-so-ever.
  9. Wish Hatem would throw them on, he's the only swagging dude who should put them on.
  10. Its like nobody should wear that but the legend himself.
  11. Not kits, but Nike are re-doing these classics: http://www.footballshirtculture.com/images/Nike-Mercurial-Vapor-IX%20SE-Football-Boots-15TH-Anniversary-d.jpg
  12. Pretty sure the TV money just doesn't come in 1 lump sum of 60m anyway I think some clubs borrow against that or some take it as it comes in, which is what Ashley would do - no?
  13. Wow, close-up it really does look hilarious!

Greggs Pasties strike again aimed at Ben Arfa I think. Again, how does a guy who was basically ruled out for rest of season season with a nasty hamstring injury, maintain fitness levels? You can't run or bike or really do anything to keep levels up if your hamstring is gone. Which is why I find that story even more baffling.
  15. At least they don't have a random blue stripe through each black stripe.
  16. Maybe this will be the perfect fire to UNITE the players and get them all on board. I hope!
  17. There comes a time when the news should be reported, and there comes a time when you back the fucking team and call for heads when the time is right. Whether these articles are true or not, its not really in the best interest of anybody to have these stories floating about when both clubs in the NE are battling relegation, irrespective of who people support. I obviously know the paper and tabloid stuff is built on sensationalist stories, etc. Just my 2 cents that's all.
  18. Well deserved ban of that fucking nut and paper to be honest.
  19. Pretty obvious that they're implying it came from one of our English players, and talking about Ben Arfa. Ben Arfa's fitness issues? Aye, how the fuck was he supposed to keep up with his fitness levels if he was basically told to stay off exerting him hamstring?
  20. Puma must get the designers who can't get hired by Nike or Adidas.
  21. I was just trying to pick a team without Tiote and Perch. Could even do a front 6 of --Anita-Sissoko-- -----Yohan------- HBA--Cisse--Gouff --Yohan-Sissoko-- -------Marv------- HBA-Cisse-Gouff Too attacking in shape though maybe?
  22. Simmo-Saylor-Colo-Mapou ------Yohan--Sissoko------- -Hatem---------------Sylvain -------Cisse---Gouff--------- I can't believe i just went 4-4-2. But I'm seriously thinking thats our best 11 come Saturday? And to the laughter about Mapou at LB, he looked fucking fantastic at RB in that Metalist match and its been said before he can play anywhere across the back line. Not that crazy of a suggestion man. Surely better than Jonas at LB.

Not sure about that exact time but i'm absolutely convinced he'll be gone in the summer regardless what division we are in. Agree with the two awesome fellas above, 100%. Love Ron's "for a few seconds"
