It's a disgrace we haven't signed a striker, at somepoint the way this board f*ck around is going to haunt us.
-
Won't replace him but will miss him on a playing front, squad weakened without him.
-
Gutted, pessimistic and also angry if the fee really is £6m. I appreciate the player may have forced the move here but that is down to the way the owners are managing this club and perceived attractiveness of playing for NUFC at the moment. I am at a loss as to the strategy of the owners, it really is high risk as I have real doubts as to the quality of our squad and management and ability to stay up. Anyway, another quality player bites the dust.....
-
Every time I try and convince myself our owner is okay, he pulls another master stroke! Glad we are going into season with strength in depth!
-
I know that the club wanted Enrique, Colo and Guitierez out at the time MA was looking to sell the club as their wages were not in the new structure and they had capital value. I've heard snippets since then that this view has not changed so I'm not at all surprised that Ashley is flogging out best player and won't be surprised if others go as well. Ashley doesn't make footballing decisions, it's all about the cashflow for him.

I can't understand how anyone could not believe that Ashley was the main driver of this deal? The man would sell his granny for a fiver!
-
I can't understand why people think he should stay, the lad has a career to take care of and nothing about our club at the moment should be giving him confidence that we can do better than Liverpool. Liverpool are a more successful club, clearly have more ambition (given their spending this transfer window) and have a good manager (well certainly better than ours) - add to that he will get a better financial deal and we will get a fee, well above his real valuation. Turn to look at what we can provide him and you've got the fat man, sleezy Pardew and a bare thin squad that isn't getting invested in - not sure where the dilema is?
-
Can't refuse that sort of crazy money but I have even less optimism for the future than before - certainly don't think the money will be re-invested
-
5.5 years! Everytime I think Ashley has finished surprising me by his mental actions he pulls another rabbit out the hat - its bad enough but 5.5 years!!!
-
Yes, its looking good - Pardew in then Enrique, Colo and a couple of the other top earners out in January - what a second half to the season we have coming up!
-
Feels like it is for me, well until Ashley goes. I've had my fill - very similar feeling to Ian W's comments above
-
I thought that the club couldn't dissapoint me anymore, well I was wrong - absolutely disgusted with this, no football sense to this appointment whatesoever.
-
A mate of Fat Ash and very cheap. Will do anything Fat Ash tells him, makes him the perfect appointment. Feck, your right
-
Awful, awful manager - it would be pure madness

I've reflected and have to say I'm happy as it could have been a lot worse and the score line didn't really reflect the dominance Man U had throughout the game. I really worry about our midfield and forward line - just can't see where the goals/creativity is going to come from to keep us up. (PS. thought Carroll worked really hard, was excellent in the air and with a decent partner may be alright, but without that partner and/or help from midfield, will struggle)

I'm pleased with a lot of what we have done tonight though still astonished that Ameobi continues to get a game, he is so rank!
-
I'll reserve judgement till final whistle. Potential for this to be a right humping but hopefully we can show a bit of mettle and keep it respectable. Problem is, we have nothing to worry them with so it will be fairly one way traffic in second half.

I find it difficult to compare players from different eras. Maradona was incredible, I was him play for Argentina and Napoli but then so was Zidane who I saw play for both France and Real. Messi is certainly world class and if he has a good world cup, will deserve to be mentioned with these players.
-
Awesome, just brilliant, what a relief, what a joy!
-
RB, striker and pacey midfielder as a minimum, on top, need back up in LB position. Certainly comfortable with some of the current team.
-
Regardless, its about setting standards which are acceptable at our football club. I don't think that will happen but it wouldn't be because we sacked him, it would be because he did it in the first place. no, you are right, but firstly the facts need to established, and then i'll say it again - leave it till may, promotion is more important than teaching a thug a lesson at the moment (for me anyway). do what u want with them once we're in the premier league, but i'm not a letting a couple of neanderthaals spoil things for us all. I agree that the facts need to be established, I don't know what actually happened so there may be other things that went on.

Nice moral stance, but when he signs for free for Wigan or Wolves or someone, bangs in a hattrick against us and they sell him for 10 million to Spuds at least we'll know we were morally right. You can't afford to take the high ground in football these days, other clubs don't do it, why should we ? I don't think the club will take the stance I am advocating because it continues to be run poorly and its a short term view. Long term I disagree - in any business you run, you need to create the right culture and standards. Some clubs may take that stance but it doesn't mean they are right.
