To expand a bit: I think it's Kinda selection or tactical error by Rafa yesterday that exposed Hayden weakness. We tried to play very technical football yesterday, but we don't have the quality to do so (mainly Gayle and Hayden). The players are not good at making intelligent run to create space for others. Had we opt for a more direct style, or start Joselu/Mitro who is better at holding up balls and create space for Perez, we should be fine and Hayden's weakness won't be exposed like that. We will see more and more occasions that Hayden unable to utilise the space created by Merino/Perez if Rafa continue to go technical football direction.

Do you think Hayden had a worse game yesterday than Ritchie, Atsu, Gayle, Perez? It's more about his lack of control and technique that undermines the overall build up play. I like Hayden, especially for his defence contribution, but he is part of the reason why we cannot penetrate through the middle yesterday. FYI. Perez actually played well considering the extremely limited space he had.

Fair point. I think Atsu is too distant from Merino, probably preparing for Shelveys style Hollywood ball which Merino ignored. Chemistry issues.
-
He is slowly becoming our weakest link in starting eleven except GK.
-
No. I don't think this is fitness issue. This is about ability. I am not saying Gayle is shit. He is just not good at what we ask him to do tonight. As pointed out by my friends, Gayle may be useless for us in EPL because we no longer able to dominate in the game without striker's help, and thus Gayle won't have enough chances to score. If he doesn't get enough assists, he is kinda useless. I agree with him now.

How about just start Mitro or Joselu and bench Gayle?
-
Damn sure Mitro will not start.
-
He is a class above everyone except Mooy on the pitch. All those errors are due to lack of experience and adaption to new league. It is a very encouraging debut.

Quality is not the issue? Are you kidding? If we have Man Utd team of coz we can walk. If you are saying looking at team sheet we deserve to lose today, ok. To me it is the opposite. We should win. No question. No fucking question when the opponent is Huddersfield, one of the hot fav for relegation.
-
The main reason? Really? The. Main. Reason? I can say again, THE MAIN REASON for today. Do you think Rafa WANTS to play a right footed CB at LB? Rob Elliott in goal and an unfit Gayle upfront? And have Diame come off the bench? I would say this if our opponent is not Huddersfield. Take a look at their squad. If you say they have a superior team and the reason we lose is because we have shit players and major weakness in our squad, fine. Rafa is really free from any blame then.

I am not saying Rafa out, I just mean he is the main reason we lost today. Quality is not the issue. Before blaming player A player badly or player B is shit, take a look at Huddersfield lineup first. And tell me what's our attacking plan? What is Gayle doing? What is Perez responsibility other than recycling the lose ball? And what the hell is Rafa thinking to sub in Murphy --- and play as a striker? Diame? Hello Mitro? Is Diame our new white flag? I just ask a simple question, if you are the gaffer, would you play our tactics and substitution like that? Very worrying for me. Rafa clearly has a plan, but more clearly he has an agenda. Some players that are "blacklisted" will never be used unless there is no one left, like Mbemba and Mitrovic. This won't go on well.
-
Fucking hell. Why blame the player quality today? The opponent is not Spurs, it's Huddersfield. We definitely have better players even without injured or suspended players. This match is purely down to Rafa. How can you guys trying your best to NOT saying his out?
-
Tell me why Mitrovic was not subbed in? Instead of Diane?
-
I think Rafa tactic and substitution today are shocking.
-
The lads are defending well and withstood the early pressure Huddersfield give to us. That's acceptable half for me. We need to be better in 2nd half though. Mitrovic should be subbed in.

I would say Keeper is a strange position where GK coaching probably matters very little. If a keeper is really good at it, got the talent, he should be shining before 20 already. The tradition belief of Keeper is maturing later than other position is not always correct. In fact, we always see promising keepers suddenly become shit before 25 years old, say Ustari. I ain't sure what is the ultimate reason for Kruls failure but I don't think lack of coaching is a key one.

227M For Neymar is mental. One year ago you are saying 100M for Pogba was mental. Now it is a fucking brilliant deal.
-
I think the problem lies with our plan for Woodman.
-
Okay wait, Liam Gibson moved to Everton for only 900K? Isn't that 6M?
-
FFS change the title back please
-
We won't be signing anymore striker unless we sold Mitro.
-
Talking about signing a striker, I think Gayle is decent enough, and I prefer to spend the money on a no.10 instead. Sadly to say Perez is still too inconsistent to rely on and we need to upgrade this position more than Gayle.
-
I don't think Murphy was a mistake. Atsu form is largely unexpected. Had he been as ineffective as last year, Murphy should be starting. But I agree, look back if we spent the whole 16m on a striker we would be in a much better position.
-
That's why we cannot sell Mitrovic at this moment. Normally to break team down, the options are counter attack, magic plays or aerial threat. We have pacy wingers and striker (Atsu, Gayle), we don't have magicians (like HBA), so we still need some aerial threat. Mitrovic is decent, and let's hope Joselu is even better at this. In the end, what we need most is a bunch of players that can 100% carried out our manager's plan. Rafa is our best weapon. As long as we have players who listen to Rafa, and able to carried out the tactics on pitch (as shown vs Spurs), we are a mid table team. We are much better than when we relegate, as a team, not as individual.
