Striking crisis, so what? Carroll and Lovenkrands could just do the business
Zero replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Carroll is already better than Ameobi imo. -
I think he will stay now. We won't sell him. The worst situation is we've sold Given while no one comes in, and the funds' wasted.
-
Nah, he should have realise relegation is really close. You can read that from yesterday's screen --- he seemed to be shocked at our performance. I can smell something like "I know I am wrong but probably it's too late..." Now I think it's the not the problem of money anymore --- it's that players aren't willing to join us as we are heading to relegation. If that's the case then there's no point selling Given and N'Zogbia now, which has not yet happened till now.
-
To be fair yesterday he seemed like he was willing to risk injuries by playing several risky moves. He was by far the most committed player in our squad, followed by Duff.
-
Very likely Ashley didn't think that we would really relegate. It does him no good if we got relegated right? Doesn't make business sense. Ironically, the team start to fall apart after he declared that the club won't be sold in short-term. I don't think it is coincidence --- probably this has contradicted to what JFK told the players to motivate them. I had admired JFK's motivation techniques before as the team did look very motivated once JFK, a temporary manager, took charge of. Probably the secret was that he told the players the club's future will be solved soon and they should play at their best so as to impress the new owner and keep a place in the team. Fuck off Ashley.

He cannot be worse than Souness.
-
Barton's injury is critical. Owen? Doesn't really make a difference...
-
Carroll the new Shearer
-
That's bad goalkeeping Harper.
-
We are a bit better 2nd half.
-
Is Edgar the worst defender we've ever played in EPL?
-
Carroll has been quite impressive tbh.
-
Edgar for Lovenkrands would solve every problem. DO IT NOW KINNEAR.
-
Not Enrique's fault, Bassong shouldn't let Robinho turn so easily. Jesus. Owen, how can you injured so easily?
-
....Where does Inman play?
-
Colo as midfielder?

The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]
Zero replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
I'm not saying I wouldn't have Veloso at Newcastle. He'd be an obvious improvement. But I do think he'd be a poor signing for 10-12 million pounds. Agree with that. At the moment we cannot afford a 10-12m flop. Would rather spend it on 3 players. -
No Edgar please. We will get raped.
-
If that's the case we better rest Jonas tonight. He is vital for the derby.

At that time the wage cost wasn't as high as now and so the deadwood clearing was a lot easier. Transfer fees are kinda sunk cost but wages are recurring cost. That's the reason why even after Gullit's silly spending SBR still managed to get a few players he wanted --- the money spent was mainly on the fees but not the wages at that time. Funds can be easily generated after 1-2 seasons low spending. Now we were get stucked by the rocket-high wages. The players signed after SBR era were all under very high wages --- for example, Luque, Emre, Parker. That's the main reason why our financial position gone so bad. Even the manager's left the wage cost's still there and it's much harder to find buyers - and certainly the players don't want to lower their wages too. I know it's unfair to Owen but if we look back the past few years the signing of Owen turns out to be the one that bring the club into disaster. It is not his fault (injury) but his transfer fees, his wages and his contribution are probably the worst investment in these few years, following by Luque.

I just don't understand how can NE5 defend Fred as it was Fred, who spend the money like what NE5 said we should, incurred a huge debt without bringing us any success and make us get into such a unfavourable position.
-
NE5, you are the worst "fans" I have ever seen. I simply can't understand your logic. It seems like ultimately an owner should sacrifice everything he has for the club and he should invest over 90% of his own money to the club (cetainly a donation one) in order to bring instant success. What even worse is that he shouldn't evaluate the risk of investment because "no pain no gain" and so the first step is to spend money, then what happened next who fucking cares. Who cares for the club finance because sooner or later someone like Abramovich will buy the club and clear all the debt and we are definitely able to attract them as we are "a great club with great support with great ambition". So let's spend all the money because we need instant success to show our ambition. I f we don't spend the money then revenue drops, league position worsen, relegation, blah blah blah.... Jesus Christ. Really Jesus Christ.
-
Jesus. Kaka, Sunny has been fucking shit this season. Simply fucking shit.

They gotta fuck off to be honest. 5m? At least double the figure. to Given: not playing hardball to you, but you should understand 5m is a ridiculous price. An insult to your calibre to be honest. You better stay here till the summer then.
