Pompey's game is a lot easier imo because Spurs' form is quite good and we have a very solid performance throughout the whole match. The passing, the tempo, the attack and the defense...it has been a long long time since we have played such a "balanced" football style. Very impressive. Worst game so far: Those under Hughton are nothing but shit. Who would you like to sign in January: A powerful defensive midfielder. If possible, sign Alexis Sanchez from Udinese as well. He can play both wings and also upfront which gives us very reliable cover for Jonas and Owen, which are very injury prone. Who would you like to sell in January: Smith. Wouldn't mind Geremi too. Na you can understand why Xisco's not selected now. He needs at least half a season to adjust to EPL's tempo and it would be silly to play him while we are in relegation battle before. However from his play I am pretty sure that he's got what it needs to be a good striker - strength, technique, and scoring instinct. The question is whether we are willing to develop him and, if we aren't that patient enough, we better sell him in January. Wasn't a bad buy imo but bad timing.

TBH I can see us keeping him if we really get a UEFA spot this season. He is firmly established as a starter here and is captain of the team. He probably couldn't get it from the other big teams --- just like why his career is ruined in Real Madrid. Captain for a "rising" club with Europe competition (and certainly acceptable wages) is the best way for him to get back to the national team. He cannot risk another year as a bench warmer in other clubs --- but obviously none of the big clubs will give him such a definite starter role like us. We do have a good chance and it is up to us imo.

you gotta think it in a different way. it's enrique's effort that restricted lennon from deliver any decent end product. at the end of the day, i hope you can understand, it's midfielder who should make the tackle, not the defenders, because if the defenders fail to take away the ball no one can cover them. You are right that lennon was crowded many times but it's also because enrique has coped with lennon's pace very well, delaying his play and let the others come back to crowd him. it's definitely the best option enrique should choose, instead of making risky tackle --- unless you are a world class left back. honestly even ashley cole and maldini won't do that too.
