  1. If that's the case we better rest Jonas tonight. He is vital for the derby.
  2. At that time the wage cost wasn't as high as now and so the deadwood clearing was a lot easier. Transfer fees are kinda sunk cost but wages are recurring cost. That's the reason why even after Gullit's silly spending SBR still managed to get a few players he wanted --- the money spent was mainly on the fees but not the wages at that time. Funds can be easily generated after 1-2 seasons low spending. Now we were get stucked by the rocket-high wages. The players signed after SBR era were all under very high wages --- for example, Luque, Emre, Parker. That's the main reason why our financial position gone so bad. Even the manager's left the wage cost's still there and it's much harder to find buyers - and certainly the players don't want to lower their wages too. I know it's unfair to Owen but if we look back the past few years the signing of Owen turns out to be the one that bring the club into disaster. It is not his fault (injury) but his transfer fees, his wages and his contribution are probably the worst investment in these few years, following by Luque.
  3. I just don't understand how can NE5 defend Fred as it was Fred, who spend the money like what NE5 said we should, incurred a huge debt without bringing us any success and make us get into such a unfavourable position.
  4. NE5, you are the worst "fans" I have ever seen. I simply can't understand your logic. It seems like ultimately an owner should sacrifice everything he has for the club and he should invest over 90% of his own money to the club (cetainly a donation one) in order to bring instant success. What even worse is that he shouldn't evaluate the risk of investment because "no pain no gain" and so the first step is to spend money, then what happened next who fucking cares. Who cares for the club finance because sooner or later someone like Abramovich will buy the club and clear all the debt and we are definitely able to attract them as we are "a great club with great support with great ambition". So let's spend all the money because we need instant success to show our ambition. I f we don't spend the money then revenue drops, league position worsen, relegation, blah blah blah.... Jesus Christ. Really Jesus Christ.
  5. Jesus. Kaka, Sunny has been fucking shit this season. Simply fucking shit.
  6. They gotta fuck off to be honest. 5m? At least double the figure. to Given: not playing hardball to you, but you should understand 5m is a ridiculous price. An insult to your calibre to be honest. You better stay here till the summer then.
  7. 1. I am an accountant, I don't need to claim or to be claimed. It is just for NE5 who simply ignores everything about finance or reality. 2. Whatever model you like, if you really wanna analyse it by economic theory. 3. The first quote is just sarcasm. If you can get the message, you should understand so called "great fanbase" behind Newcastle is actually very fragile, or elastic to demand in your words. The point is, you are correct, we cannot raise the ticket price, yet people are thinking that we have a great fanbase to support the club financially and we still have the money to make 15m+ investments on players every year. If we told them we need to raise the ticket price for the transfer fees / inflated wages, they will just turn away.
  8. I have a question. If Veloso is that good, why doesn't he got snapped up by those top teams like Arsenal? Does he has any personality problem? I find it really strange that no club except Bolton are enquiring for him this window.
  9. Saviola would just be another Owen, or even worse, as he probably couldn't adapt to the EPL. Please god no.
  10. If the deal is currently stucked becoz of Johnson, I can see we finally accept a pure-cash offer instead of pulling the plug. Johnson isn't the most important factor in this deal. And tbh I rate Donadel/M'Bia higher than Johnson.
  11. I wonder how Ashley feel when he heard this "dream factory" speech. Fredbob, add "did not give Allardyce enough backings/sack him immediately" into Ashley.co's criticizing list. Agree with all the other words.
  12. To be more direct I am referring to Duff and Smith. Fortunately Viduka and Owen will not be here soon but we probably need to incur another costly contract to pursuade Martins to stay.
  13. If you want to recover the financial position shortly, sell the players with highest market value. If you are patient enough to wait for a few seasons, certainly get rid of the waster's contract --- if we are able to find a buyer. I am all for the 2nd option but 1. Many fans aren't patient enough to wait for a few seasons 2. It is very hard to find a club that are willing to buy those wasters 3. Those wasters didn't want to lower their wages and refuse to move A matter of choice only. 2nd is more ideal but I know 1st is more probable.
  14. And watch match day revenues fall buy the same amount as demand dries up? That's the problem. We cannot afford those high-earners and at the same time we cannot raise the ticket price. The cost needs to be cut, the revenue has reached the upper limit, and at the same time we, at least, has to stay in EPL. A tough task imo. Probably that means we has become kinda selling club now. Sell the established stars like Given and N'Zogbia and bring in some young talents like Bassong and Guthrie.
  15. Or another view is, the ticket price should raise by 20-30% next season.
  16. And that's the reason why we badly need to breakeven, and we cannot afford Owen's contract anymore.
  17. So now Harper MUST always at his best or we will relegate. He deserves the chance though.
  18. Because both of them will bring the club to hell--- just like the difference between final stage cancer and certified death. Either one of them is enough to evaluate Fred's reign imo. You rarely see a club that can recover very soon after administration rite?
  19. And that's Fred's fault that make us having such serious debt and facing either relegation battle or penalty from the association...which eventually may make us relegate to 2nd division... You just cannot defend Fred... May the God be with you, NE5...
  20. The answer is because Fred is s***. Understand? The others are able to do it with reasonable debt. Fred cannot do it despite have huge debt. That's why I said your question is silly. The answer contradicts with your stands. You might say you're an accountant, but like Mike Ashley, you understand zilch about football. Well...I think it's unarguable that administration is an intolerable sin for an owner/chairman. That's the basic for any football club. End of discussion because I know you couldn't have any new points to add on. Give it up man. It is meaningless.
  21. The answer is because Fred is shit. Understand? The others are able to do it with reasonable debt. Fred cannot do it despite have huge debt. That's why I said your question is silly. The answer contradicts with your stands.
  22. Fucking hell, can't u understand that the investment is already unsustainable? Ur logic is like if we don't take a gamble then we couldn't chase back the money lost AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHY LEEDS AND FIORENTINA HAPPENED. NO WONDER U SUPPORT FRED BECAUSE U BOTH HAVE SOME PROBLEM INSIDE YOUR HEAD. How could you run a club like that? Worry about the drop of revenues? Higher revenues doesn't mean higher spending power FFS. HAVE PATIENCE TO RECOVER THE FINANCIAL POSITION AND THEN DO A VILLA. PATIENCE. Understand what it means?
  23. So you finally understands why you are worse than a monkey. Those clubs won't going to liquidation as they have reasonable debt. We almost did it by having an unsustainable debt.
  24. At least monkey know life is important. I couldn't imagine you can ask such a silly question. I expect it's a more reasonable one. Sorry.
