these stuff can only be speculative and if that means “made up story” by you then just ignore it. I think oldtype is correct. What he missed out is the appointment of Howe might also be part of the story.
-
I would be honest, he is only fine, and why we should go for him now is because we have been fucking shit last 60 days. We have close to no options left.
-
Questions should be asked why hire him, why he wasn’t probably replaced and why his work leftover was not probably handled to other management / staff. And yes all pointing towards Eales, and, ultimately, the real person-in-charge from PIF.
-
Serious question, who the hell is responsible for the transfer now?
-
We didn’t offer a new one since Staveley left?

No problem extending Tino contract, just wonder how Isak will take this news

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Interesting. Genuinely interesting. That almost makes him top earner in the team. Is that real? -
To be fair they won the FA Cup and probably that’s good enough for the fans

I still think we bid for Ekitike because we want to prepare for next summer if Isak ask to leave the club. I still dont know how he can play together with Isak, he isn’t like Pedro who can play as a 10. So to me it’s actually a good thing to miss out, particularly to a team that wants Isak -
One more CM, unless you are willing to gamble on White

I would like to gamble on Biereth, if given chance

So the price gone from 20m to 40m and we still regard him as our top target? I would definitely take the 20m one year ago
-
That only works if you have a thorough plan on hand and you have a well functioning negotiation team managing the whole situation, together with vision that who should you pay above the odd and who is the backup, with multiple negotiations working together For example, we could submit bid for Pedro and Ekitike together back in May, and set a straight deadline that say if we failed the Pedro bid we would entertain the release clause etc (in fact this should be done for multiple targets in the same position) instead, we were just like a newbie to the playground, who only know one technique: submit a bid, from our lowest estimated price, then keep on increasing the bid until it exceeded our limit, move on, find the next one down the list, start submitting the lowest estimated price again this is far from being a “professional” I would say.

two reasons I can think of 1. We changed our approach and now looking at established / proven players, we all know this so I won’t elaborate more 2. I think we have been “targeted” or “bookmarked” by the other big clubs. In the past they probably don’t care what players we got. Now they do. Probably because of our ridiculous success rate (we almost got all our transfers spot on in terms of value of money). I genuinely think Ekitike case falls in this category. Very likely if we didn’t bid for Ekitike this summer, Liverpool would not submit the bid as well, and Ekitike would stay at Frankfurt.

You better just accept the reality that Isak won’t go Liverpool, in any case. 1. Ekitike is not someone who can play on the wing. forget what you have been told. He can only play ST. Once you got Ekitike that’s the end of the story for Liverpool 2. It’s Arsenal who is in the pole position now. They got the money and the squad needs, not Liverpool you can only now pray Ekitike is not a flop like Carroll.
