  1. He's really not THAT bad. He's not a great player, but he's not the worst defender around either. Has had some mares no doubt, but has had decent games as well. His only issue is pace and City often play with a very high-line. He's taken the fall in the press for at least 2 Kompany mistakes. When he gets to defend nice and deep he looks to be a good leader. Considering he was signed for free and was meant to be a back-up he's done okay. Not his fault Nastasic has a mystery knee injury.
  2. For once I agree with Knaka. Pardew's a shit Mourinho student.
  3. He doesn't get much credit for that unless he scores.
  4. Dortmund were every bit as good as Real were in the 1st leg. Deserved to at least get to extra-time.
  5. Just seen the Demba goal. Such a classic Demba goal!
  6. Ancelotti sides aren't the best when 3 up are they?
  7. He's lucky that PSG have Ligue 1 pretty much wrapped up. Should have done a lot better than what he conjured up as "tactics" tonight. Blanc's terrible man.
  8. Was not impressed with PSG in the first leg and I said after that result that I fancied Chelsea to go through. Chelsea have a better chance of winning the whole thing if they come up against teams that will attempt to play on the front foot. Have a better chance against Madrid or Barca than Atletico imo.
  9. Needed to let Cisse shine init. Not sure if this is tongue in cheek, but some thought Cisse was the better player. I love Ba me. Top striker. I was one of the few that were genuinely happy to have him ahead of Cisse at that time.
  10. Real Madrid forgot how to launch a proper counter attack or something?
  11. Verratti will be far better in a couple of years with regular football, though. at. The. Moment.
  12. Haven't seen loads of Verratti but Cabs looks a better player at the moment to me.
  13. Reus is brilliant but that's his second dive.
  14. Modric is a beautiful footballer. Imagine he and Bale were in the same Spurs side.
  15. The North East as a region is just irrelevant in the upper echelons of the league. I don't think it's good for us at all to have our only two rivals languishing in the lower league. I would miss the derbies too. If we aren't going to go for the cups at least we can try our best against those lot (then get thumped). Just my thoughts. These have looked like goners to me all season. Absolutely useless. I'm glad their transfer and manager policy has gotten them relegated.
  16. But then the fans would start to demand more. Imagine if Sunderland swapped places with Southampton in the league. All this sovereign state bullshit would come to an end and the players, manager and board would really feel it. I just think it would help. Be a factor.
  17. A competitive Sunderland puts more pressure on NUFC and those calling the shots here. When Sunderland get relegated Alan Pardew will be the most relieved man. That is wrong.
  18. Yet Sherwood who has done the same thing and been getting less points than AVB gets the benefit of the doubt? he's leaving in the summer. He was always a temporary thing. You've totally ignored the managing upward point too.
  19. I've said before but he's bad at managing upwards with his bosses. He's too quick to point fingers either at players or at boardroom level. His job was gone when he started insinuating that he did not want all of the signings. Not only where they boring, tactically he would do some instane things
  20. Might as well give Brendan the job for the tournament - half a million pounds a win and let him pick work that magic.
  21. Aye wasn't very good, I think he was having a difficult time implementing or at least deciding what kind of football he wanted. I'm not going to blame the Spurs fans who wanted him gone as I want Pardew gone even though we're 9th, but in terms of result he was getting better or at least the same kind of results as Sherwood has been. I mean they started the season well, and then lost to us (still have no idea how btw Krul, Willy and Mbiwa were immense) after that they hit a slump and he was sacked just couple of matches in. Not being able to score & getting battered a number of times should get a manager fired tbh. That's Hughton, AVB & it should be Pardew. If you're going to be so negative, at least be good at it. With AVB, he was meant to be tactically on point but he had some of the most confusing tactics ever. "Let's play on the half way line, let's not close anyone down and oh yeah Dawson, HALF. WAY. LINE" Dumbfounding. He's looked clueless in England. And he seems to be hard to work with up and down.
