Madrid had so many bouts of domination... only managed 1 flukey goal.
-
Gareth Bale has been terrible. The pressure is getting to him and Carvahal down that side. Could do with benching him for Isco.

What a player. Great touch. Madrid waste a lot of chances.

Chelsea when they won FA & CL.

IMO he would be great to kill off teams. He has a good engine but also some real strength. Someone like Henderson wouldn't have a huge impact in a game either chasing a game or defending one and he's unlikely to start. If we where chasing would he come on? You need players to fit different situations, especially off the bench.

Good point. But Debuchy was more proven as a "good" player. De Jong could be Altidore status.
-
But Arsenal would offer more than we would anyway so it's irrelevant. If we put in a good offer only a bigger club or a club willing to do a QPR/Pompey could top us.

How many strikers have recovered from 21 months of shiteness (no injury either) to full "form"? He missed a bag of chances then scored one. I'm delighted he did in the end but this is not even a mini-run in form. It's 1 goal against a team who will do exceptionally well not to get relegated. I hope he can turn the corner and become a great player for us again but scoring 1 clear-cut chance out of 4 against Crystal Palace at home doesn't fill me with optimism. This is literally the type of reaction we laugh at whenever Torres gets his 1 goal in 8 games.

Aye but there's no doubt these are difficult players and great managers have had issues. Romario and Bellamy are full-on loons.
-
8 defenders is always too much. I would consider only taking 1 natural right back. Smalling can cover. Use the extra player for an attacking move.

Kalou available for free in the summer, would anyone want him here? Always thought he was a good finisher and he's scored goals in France and was pretty good infront of goal for Chelsea. I reckon we might look at him but he's the type to end up in Turkey or Russia for megabucks and play crap.

The thing about Henry was that, while in a fantastic team he was the only one putting up crazy numbers. Same with Cronaldo. In the year Drogba should've won Player of the Season Chelsea would beat teams 4,5,6 at the Bridge regularly. They broke the goal scoring record too. Players like Malouda and Kalou got something like 20 goals between them if I'm thinking of the correct season. Same thing with Suarez, L'pool will most likely break that record. While I've always rated Sturridge highly he's on course for practically a 1 goal in 1 game ratio.

I'm not disagreeing. But there's a debate around who had the best season out of Drogba/Henry. There's no discussion really when you throw in consistency.
-
Follow the conversation. It's about individual seasons.
-
Drogba had a few relatively poor seasons in terms of goals and assists. Ranging from a side that dominated the league to finishing 6th.

Ah yeah, i'd rather have Vern Anita as the most talented footballer in my team. As if Vernon Anita's our most talented player. Technical ability on the ball on a contract longer than this season. It's HBA with Marv in second but of the regular starters it's out of Colo & Anita. That's what we are served up with 80% of the time.

Madrid lads lost their heads.

Ref's ruined the game

Messi MOTM. Great pass for the penalty. Assist for first. Gets the second.
