  1. Don't deserve to be level yet alone 1-0. What a miss though. The midfield is pure struggle.
  2. The others however where at least in the running for 4th... these are 7th.
  3. If we ever won the LC the floodgates would open. I'm certain anything less than oil money NUFC would choke every time in a FA Cup or EL final. Too much pressure.
  4. This Cronaldo guy has scored in every round in the CL, every type of big club match and he still gets critcism about the big stage. It's going to take a WC final.
  5. If Cronaldo can carry Portugal to a WC final somehow, it will be undeniable.
  6. Robben is no more talented than Rooney but at the very top level he's much more of a factor. Like I said... when has Rooney come through in the clutch for England or in the latter stages of Euro comps? When has he even had big moments in the CL? He'll tear the Crystal Palace's a new one.
  7. I disagree tbh. Brilliant at PL level. Has he ever been the difference in CL KO rounds or for England in the last 3/4 tournaments?
  8. He was brilliant ni that 5th placed season. Indifferent last season. This season he's been more secure but has had a few bad games lately. We are very dependent on the Krul-Colo-Tiote-(Cabaye)-Striker spine like most teams I guess. Our strikers either become shit or get sold. Colo, Tiote & Krul are overly inconsistent for such key players.
  9. Bellamy, at times, was outstanding. I think the argument for his inclusion in any squad comes from the fact that he was a really unique player - lightning quick, aggresive, alert and he created a f*** load of attacking momentum. There's not another forward in our recent history that you can liken to Bellamy really and, for that reason, you've got listen to any argument including him in an all time 11. If we were picking teams for effectiveness and ability to actually blend together as a team (rather than best 11 stand out individuals) you'd have to seriously consider Bellamy because he could play alongside anyone really. An Andy Cole, a Shearer (as proven), a Ba or Big Les. Bellamy is one of my favourite players to have played in B&W tbh, would love to have a player like him now. Thinking about it, Bellamy and Andy Cole (in his NUFC prime) would have been unbelievable - lightning quick and unplayable at times. Defenses would have such a deep line to prevent getting caught in behind or left 1 on 1 in a race. Bellamy to push the defences back. Cole to twist and turn in the box when they employ the deep line.
  10. Oh aye Bellamy is why I thought to ask the question anyway. Bellamy and Cole for me.
  11. Who would the back-up attackers be? It's out of Cole, Ba & Ferdinand. There I say I think the first two are better players but I like Sir Les the most. Would probably have Sir Les over Ba. Back up CM's? Speed and Dyer.
  12. Dyer's best form for NUFC came at CM. Solano RM all day. Gillespie over Robert? Joke.
  13. Basically, Owen's correct points are facile. For the approach Ashley has adopted we are on par but that approach has shockingly low ambition. We've been more successful than Spurs/Everton for periods in recent history, our aim should at least to get on their footing. The problem is not that we aren't there, the problem is that we won't even try. The cub stuff is an absolute joke.
  14. He wasnt technically good at all. If he was, his loss of pace wouldnt have detracted from his game so much. And he was also extremely one footed. He was an instinctive finisher with pace in his prime. That's basically all there was to him. Injuries have bigger effect than pace. Players that lose their pace due to age rather than injuries tend to perform better. Technically he wasn't world class but that doesn't mean he wasn't good technically at all. Being a good finisher requires good technique too.
  15. Yep. Not even bothering to pretend is very disrespectful.
  16. I honestly think it's the other way round and people are forgetting how good Woodgate was. Yep. P4P, on their best days it's a no-contest.
  17. Woodgate had better "tools". Bigger, faster and stronger. No obvious weaknesses to his game like Colo has always had. However, Colo has obviously been a better player for us. Actually playing helps. but Woodgate had more potential and abilities.
  18. Think Ox must still be coming back from injury.Mental substitution.
  19. It's not hard when it's Robben and Rafinha vs. Monreal and the back of Ozil's head
  20. I couldn't believe Wenger pulled Cazorla tbh. If there's one Arsenal player with less stamina and work rate than Ozil... it's Cazorla
  21. If you handle him too aggressively, he gets it on with the ground. A lot. Better to funnel him out to the right IMO. Excellent movement, excellent balance & agility. Better ti just ask him to use the right.
